Direct all Out Of Character comments for the Legends of Divinity RP here. Previous RPs that didn't have OOC threads got cluttered quickly.

And by that imperious oldbie tone, I mean the two RPs on SpidWeb I was around to witness. ;)

Back to the IC thread.

Edit: I made the IC/OOC thread relation more obvious because apparently some of the noobs are bewildered. -Aran

EDIT: Thanks Aran. What can I say - it was late, I was tired.

Unless you're participating in the RP or have something really important to contribute, please stay out of its threads. This goes especially for the IC, but also for the OOC - the less clutter, the better.

Edit: If you actually read it and the one it linked to, you'd know what it's about.

Hopefully Tyran doesn't have any objections with my opening post. Doesn't really matter if he does, though, I only need to edit a single word anyway. (But it's still work! *sob*)

I'm not really sure why I would object to that.

I can stand it, I'm just confused. Are you going with the "ascending mortal" idea? 'Cause otherwise, I don't quite get it.

And I'm getting a feeling that geography is going to be an issue shortly... we might want to start thinking about a map.

Nah, thought I'd go with the roaming around aimlessly diety thing.

EDIT: yeah, that could help eventually.

Thanks, Lenar. Eventually, I think we're going to need a roster like Slarty/Tyran's for the Avernum RP.

Diki, could I borrow Burrad for a post?

On a sidenote: James the Diety(yes, that's his name) is a god of Death, Life, and Love.

EDIT: It took me over 2 years, but I finally managed to configure this stupid router properly. WOOT!!!!

That's an awful lot of territory for one god... and we've already got a god of Death. Personally, I'd prefer it if you could pick one of the three.

Rakshasi, could you send me a bit of information about your plans for Cassius, and anything else about the area you think I should know? I'm thinking of settling near there.

But if I'm not mistaken, competition between gods is encouraged. 'Sides, it's not like he's the first multi-portfolio deity ever to exist.

EDIT: Question, 'at what point in time do we actually try to get characters together?'

'Death, Life, and Love'? Judging by your post in the IC thread, you're more of a God of Free Spirits, Adventurers, and Travellers. I'm sure James has his own views on death, life, and love, but that doesn't necessarily make him the patron deity of them.

Multi-portfolio deities exist, true, but it's fairly rare for them to have multiple top-tier portfolio items. Death in particular is a pretty huge portfolio item. I can't think of a single example of a deathly deity who was in charge of two other big things. Hades had wealth, but that's not big. Nergal had the noonday sun. Xochipilli had flowers. Osiris is the closest I can come up with, with death and fertility... pretty close to death and life. Izanami's death and the earth.

Love is also pretty huge. I suppose Inanna had both love and war.

I don't really know why I'm posting in this topic, but that's kind of ridiculous for a plupolytheistic RP.

I really don't see how it matters, but here's the rationalization...

Love, the magical force that makes the world work.
Love, the leading cause of the creation of new life.
Love, one of the top reasons for people getting killed.

Then James is the God of Love. His actions simply lead to the others (via Love).

So, nice try.

I really don't see why it is such a big deal anyway... with that in mind, I suppose James the Deity will have to be the God(with plenty of room for a Goddess) of Love, though his abilities to create and destroy life will not be completely removed, just greatly reduced(and by reduced, I mean, won't be anywhere near as great, nor divine in nature)

Thank you, that's much better. I know it's an RP about gods, but we do still have to worry about overpowering characters.

I laughed over that too. I'm so tempted to make a town called Realloc. If JV can have Malloc and Calloc as towns in Valorim, I can certainly have a hamlet named Realloc in the Plains of Array.

Not in on the joke, but it's bound to be better than the town of "Phallus" I encountered in a D&D game. The game almost ended there cause of all the jokes we ended up making about it.
