You can use gemstones to make wands and throwing crystals. Recipe list (obviously a spoiler). If you aren't interested in those, then you can sell them.

Dikiyoba usually saves them up, then sells them when Dikiyoba runs really low on coins.

Alec vs. Nemesis

Nemesis isn't fazed by Alec's insults and disables the photo threads by posting funny pictures of himself. However, Alec has multiple accounts to keep Nemesis' dainslaifs busy, leaving Nemesis helpless. Alec.

Saunders vs. Jewels

The Baath Party and canalista warriors keep each other busy, but Saunders still has plenty of fluffy turtles at her disposal. Jewels disables each one by hugging them, but by the time she's finished she's pretty tired. Then Saunders starts belly-dancing, which makes Jewels pout because she wishes she could belly dance like that. Grumpy and tired, Jewels isn't quite able to react in time when Saunders whips out her sword and delivers a mercifully quick death. Saunders.

Nicothodes vs. Arancaytar

Before this is over, Symphony of Spam will be played on cello. Arancaytar doesn't stand a chance. Nicothodes.

Dintiradan vs. Thralni

Dintiradan's evil plan goes like thus: summon a chicken, clone it, and enslave the clones in horribly degrading conditions to feed his Legion of Terror, all the while staying out of arrow and vegetable range. Surely Thralni won't stand for this outrage and will try to free the chickens, allowing Dintiradan to shoot him with the Deth Ray. Needless to say, things don't go according to plan--PETA gets involved, chickens run amok, and things are looking bad. But Thralni makes a critical mistake--he's not willing to pass up an opportunity to show his flying skills off. So while the Legion of Terror wouldn't have noticed him if he walked in wearing a disguise, they do notice him swooping overhead, giving Dintiradan plenty of time to warm up the Deth Ray. Zap! Dintiradan.

It is now May, and I am now paying attention to this again. I think I managed to set up the forums so they're usable and started a few threads of things to dicuss. So register (if you haven't) and discuss. If you have any problems, send me a private message (on this board) and I'll do my best to take care of it promptly.

And to encourage people to participate, Dikiyoba will waive the interviews, membership fees, and vows of celibacy for everyone except for ET, because now that Dikiyoba is in a position of power Dikiyoba hates him. :P

Delicious Vlish vs. Alorael

Delicious Vlish tries to terrorize Alorael with his violet rays, but Alorael's skribbane addiction overpowers the spell. Alorael snipes Delicious Vlish. Delicious Vlish quickly deflates. Alorael moves in to find out whether he tastes like beef. Delicious Vlish hits him with a Fiesty Slap of Pain. In response, Alorael buries him under a pile of posts. Alorael.

Tyranicus vs. Stareye

Tyranicus is used to his life hanging by a thread and so slaps on a layer of woad and charges toward Stareye in a berserker rage. His rage is such that he keeps fighting despite getting hit by Stareye's antimatter machine, getting his face stomped on repeatedly, and tripping and breaking his neck. Stareye just can't take him down. Tyranicus

Ephesos vs. Goldenking

Goldenking uses his special skill at RPing to block all of Ephesos' attacks, while Ephesos' luck and healing spells keep him alive against Goldenking's attacks. Finally, Ephesos is pushed too far. He leaps up to cram leaves down Goldenking's throat, but Goldenking is prepared for it this time and blocks Ephesos with his shield. Then he has a point-blank shot at Ephesos that just can't be dodged. Goldenking.

Archmage Alex vs. Salmon

Salmon starts with a volley of spam, but Archmage Alex has his stick figures catch it and mold it into a crustacean-ravaged celebrity. Salmon instinctively starts making traps in hopes of catching a lovely crab dinner, giving Alex's stick figures time to reshape the spam into a giant katamari ball and roll up all of Salmon's tools and fishing gear. Then Salmon changes into his sexy red slip... and a distracted Archmage Alex rolls right off a cliff. Salmon.

If Dikiyoba has the right zone, there is a small band of servile cultists. With high enough leadership, you can speak with them and they'll tell you about a canister. Then a small path to the kyshakk canister will open up. If you've already killed the cultists, well, you're out of luck.

And Dikiyoba: Any music inherent in the Rings books should have been expresed in the films on their own merit, without any external imposition.
Well, no, not really. There was a lot of I'm-going-to-stop-the-story-and-sing-a-long-song-which-is-only-barely-related-to-the-plot-now. It would have made the movie unbearably long.

(But they did put it in for at least one occasion. Some of the background music in the FotR while the fellowship was in Lothlorien was actually a song in the book, which they expanded on a bit in the extended addition. Actually, there was at least one other case in the extended edition.)

quote:
Can anybody here honestly tell me that all that orchestral crap in the Rings films truly added to the movie, that it actually enriched your feeling for the characters and the story?
Well, obviously, I wouldn't be arguing with you if it didn't.

We obviously have very different expectations when it comes to movies. Characters and plot are really nice, but if that's all I cared about, I would read a book instead. If I'm going to bother watching a movie, I expect things that I can't get from reading, otherwise it's not worth my time. One of my expectations is a solid soundtrack. Heck, I would watch a movie with no characters or plot whatsoever if the music and visuals, etc. were good enough. I might as well complain against actors. Why wouldn't you be content to just imagine what a character looks like or how they deliver a piece of dialogue?

To give a specific example: the scene where Sam, Frodo, and Gollum are at Minas Morgul in RotK. I was starting to lose focus the first time I watched it since I was a bit tired, but cue the sudden loud scary music and suddenly I'm wide awake and involved with the story again. By the way, Frodo, this is just the beginning of how powerful Mordor is. The good guys are pretty much doomed if you don't hurry up.

It also makes Dikiyoba wish Dikiyoba owned a fell beast and could be death on wings. Women, children, and hobbits first!

Oh, come on. Middle Earth is meant to be a musical place--even the books have songs. Tom Bombadil (who does not appear in the movie) has a lot of power in his songs. Treebeard and the other ents are described as having musical voices. The LotR is as much about the world of Middle Earth as it is the story of Frodo and the Fellowship, and the soundtrack is meant to help convey the world.

I think Jeff counts on many people being honest enough to pay for the games even if they could steal it, and that the bulk of people who are dishonest will find a way to steal his games anyway, even if a tougher system is put into place.

Surviving the impact is really more of an issue than surviving the atmosphere. But don't worry--Dikiyoba has heard from authoritative sources that the raptors intend to build a really strong bunker on the asteroid to protect against both atmospheric friction and the impact.

No. Don't. The Xanth series is a bottomless mire that will suck dry your very soul. I'm exaggerating, but not by much. I remember the first few being all right, in a campy sort of way. But they just don't end, and all the jokes and plotlines get recycled after a while. I don't remember where I quit, but a quick visit to Wikipedia tells me he's over thirty now.
I read Pet Peeve (number 29) a while back and it was definitely... odd. It reads like a novel for fairly young kids, but there's all this sexual content.
