Unless you get lucky checking out that place in the Sulphurous Flats or the box problem when you bring it to the Castle, the next fine waveblade isn't until west of Fort Remote. So you might want to do other things first. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

There are two places where a soul will help you get items. The ledge is one and the other is under Hagfen. The rock wall in the Jagged Aerie should go away if you solved the block puzzle and placed one on the rug at the north end. I don't remember any trouble once you find the secret passages. You need to increase dexterity throughout the game to 6 with fast on feet or 7 without that trait to be able to attack Celtic Tribesmen before they do. At least with one character in a standard party. Early in the game the druid protection spell can negate almost all damage. So that one drudish Roman is good for more than healing. The higher level spells aren't as helpful. So Druid Mastery as a trait isn't important. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Need Woodcraft of at least 5 to track. Head east from Adam's place and explore southwest of the hill with the talking skull. You'll get a message when you hit the right spot. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

If you wait until seeing Lankin after going to the next island and reaching Dhonal's Keep, there is someone who will take the canister. Then you are safte to go back. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

You can start with pass portal spell if you really think about character creation. The second level of the Goblin Pits, go northeast from the Goblin Temple into the Halls of Learning. With high enough rune reading (20 and 25) you can learn the first four craft and beast circle spells from books on certain shelves. Pass portal will unlock doors and untrap containers. Tool use is available east of the Faerie Bazaar after you have done the Ruined Hall. Also you can buy it under the Temple of Brigante and as a quest reward. Wait until you hire the 5th character in Vanarium. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The Rose Lady (only for Celts) gives +1 to strength, dexterity, intelligence, and endurance. Sammael gives some spells which aren't as helpful in Nethergate: Resurrection as they were in the original game. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

You don't need to help the injured gryphon near the Aerie, since you can bribe the guarding gryphon with enough meat. The molting gryphon in the northwest corner requires dexterity. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Exile 3 had the gate in the wall at the southwest corner. Move mountains at level 1 will do since level 3 doesn't come until much later in the game. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

What I found interesting is now that elevations have returned, you have to readjust the dirigible's height to avoid the cave's roof. On the surface, the sky's the limit, but down here you get punctured if you forget to drop down as you approach certain areas. That pop and hissing sounds if you just point and click makes you more careful. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It's more of get through the game without killing much other than creations. It's possible to do most of the important quests where you get something else to do the dirty work. Greenfang, the caravan, your own creations, etc. are examples. I did run a pacifist servile that carried no weapons and never did a damaging attack for well into Illya province. I never finished the game, so I don't know how far I could have gone. His little fyora did it for him for most of the game. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Quick action only affects melee attacks. Quick shot will give extra action points so you might have gotten a second shot off without planning it. Or maybe you need more sleep. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Boat movement in and out involves clicking on the boat. Boat movement in water is either keyboard commands for one square movement or mouse clicking to move to a new location like with walking in Geneforge and Avernum 4. There are still a few kinks in the mouse method, but overall it's great for moving long distances through an explored area. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Killing Grah-hoth involves first freeing him from his prison, then following him north to fight him in his home to the northeast. You'll need to find the blessed athame in the Tower of Magi. It's also near where the onyx scepter is being guarded by a major demon. The password to escape is in three parts. Erika will tell you to go to Athron for one part, Aimee in the Norhtern Isles has one, and Patrick has the last part. You need the Orb to do Erika's little quest and to reach certain places like Grah-Hoth's final fortress. Unless you can walk on air. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
