Try using daze spell to keep the worms from attacking. Pick off the pylons from a distance and use fighters to block the path to your spellcasters.

Area effect spells like icy rain work great on clumps of worms.

Exile III time problems in The Exile Trilogy

The only time problem is not delivering the jobs on time will cause you not to be hired for several months by a dispatcher.

There is plenty of time to finish the game and it's possible to do all the major quests and the minor ones before the date for the Tower of Magi quest occurs. If your father takes too long he may find that key people have moved to new locations, but it's always possible to finish the quests.

There was a similar topic over in the Avernum Trilogy.

3. A party member from Avernum/Exile at the end of the game who has learned all of the priest spells and mage spells duels in a magic competition with a Shaper/Lifecrater PC at the end of the game who can Shape all creations and cast all spells. Please state the victor and the reason why.

Shaper with existing creations would go first since its creations would have higher dexterity. Creations depending upon type would either blast the Avernum/Exile spellcaster to oblivion or at least stun/slow so there isn't a real response. Even if there is a response, the Shaper would have the lowest dexterity of the combat and still have another chance.

Charm beast spell from a druid or using control foe scroll is usually a good way to even up the fight. Slow spell also helps.

You need a combined arcane lore total of 5 from all your party by adding up the individual arcane lore numbers. This is the only thing that should keep you from learning the spell.

It makes the fights at the end harder. Especially the last one with R-I since she summons endless friends and you have to get past them.

I found it in one of those 1000 game demo CD-ROMs. It took some work to get the games to load and install, but that's the disk's problem.

The lever is really hard to see. You have to go the other direction in the lower level and find it past the temple area. It's near a window looking out onto the door into R-I's hiding place.

You could always use your last saved game before going into flying mode.

If you don't have one, then hit the space bar to wait until the Orb wears off. It only lasts 6 rounds so you should have been able to land anyway.

I've always been blocked from going into a cieling too low direction or taking off in the first place.

Go for it. You don't have long term job security, but at least as a politician you'll never have to worry about your job being offshored.

You've been here long enough to know better. People reply all the time without reading even the previous post. Clicking on a link is too much effort. Today's world has such a short attention span that if it takes more than a few seconds it gets skipped.

How do you know this?!

The beta testers from previous games that were willing to do it again have been at it for almost 4 weeks. We get to deal with incorrect terrain, game balance, and Jeff making it so we can't get away with things he didn't consider. Just because I got all the battle disciplines before the half way point is no reason to make it harder for the rest of the players.

We have only got to chapter 6 of 9 so the next round beta testers can catch up pretty quickly. They get the advantage of not having to replay over and over again certain fights so Jeff can tweak the game.

In the northeast part of the level near the ogres is a room with a wheel that will open one of the gates so you can get back out. I think it was the north gate of the two that are blocking you.

I can tell you that the movement is pretty much the same as in Avernum 4. Mouse clicking moves you to the space marked so you can inch the mouse over an move a square at a time or better is to use the keyboard arrow keys.

It does seem better than A4 in that with the revised AP system there is no more accidently moving next to a monster that you wanted to hit with a missle and finding out that you don't have the AP for a melee attack.

There is a delay between certain actions like using a battle discipline and being able to fight when you have the graphics special effects turned on. You have to watch that the game is ready for your next command.

Move C north, then move your first character into the space between C's new position, D, and F. Now move F east until it is past the door. You can move diagonally, but the blocks can't.

In the early betas the blocks would move differently, so this wasn't a hard problem. There will be two more block puzzles in the game in the Jagged Aerie and Castle Aethdoc.

The blocks to the south are unimportant so shove them south to give you room. You need to move the ones to the northeast so there is only one block left. Shove them west and south so you have an empty space next to the northeast block. When there is only one block, push that one east until you can open the door to the eastern room.

Have fun fighting the undead.

To open the gate to the south you have to figure out the steps to get all the braziers to light at once. Eventually you will get it.

Exile II questions in The Exile Trilogy

1) To get the amber charm for the Sliths in Gnass, you first have to learn the chant from the priest there. The place you want is the hidden Slith two level cave northwest of Cotra. There is a soldier in Silvar that will tell you about a place that needs checking out that is west of a totem. I think you have to find the soldier in the Silvar Inn in order to be able to find the hidden cave. Then you have to fight your way upperward to the lake and find a boat to go to the island in the center.

2) There is no way to use the control panel in the Icy Hydra cave where the Vahnatai are waiting outside. Just kill everything inside the place and loot to your heart's content. There are a few secret rooms in there.

There are a series of tests to help train adventurers. The first one is west of Grindstone in a pit. The tests must be done in order. If you come to a later test before you have done all the others, a map appears showing the general location of the previous test.

The FAQ provides more detail information about the locations of the different tests. Some of them provide useful rewards.

Beta wait time in General

Figure on at least one week and maybe a few more days after that from the time that applications end. Jeff only sends replies to the ones he wants.

You can expect another wait of 3-4 days from the time you send in your non-disclosure agreement.

After that you get your instructions (very brief ones) and information on how to access the latest beta version.
