What will scare the heck out of McCain in General

If you ever see the movie Wag the Dog it shows that even a fake war can act as a distraction to help a president stay in power. Countries rarely remove a leader during a war, but will often remove them in the peace that follows.

Look near the pillar in the area to the west of the field. Jeff loves to hide levers and items so you can't really see them. Move the cursor around to see it light up.

New Engine for A1-3 in General

It depends upon whether Jeff goes the Nethergate: Resurrection way and release updated A1-3 in between A6 and the new gaming world or continues with his normal schedule. I think he will want to finish A6 and get all the changes out of the way since this will be the game engine.

If you go back to the original manuscript, you'll see LotR was written for money. The publisher wanted hobbits and Strider was a hobbit. It was only in the later drafts that it evolved into more.

Everyone has left out the even worse made for television animated version Return of the King which came out after it became clear that Ralph Bakshi was never going to complete his version. Peter Jackson should be given credit for attempting to convert a massive epic to film without losing most of the story.

Music gets tacked on later in production unless the director has a vision of how to use it. Then it become integral and not turned over to someone else because the film is supposed to have it.

The cows are there as atmosphere. It explains where some meat comes from. Other sources of meat you really don't want to know.

Giving battle creations quick action chance for extra attacks will make them more damaging.

Well rats, I was expecting something more to happen. It appears we are getting another clue to Ecksian's identity.

Edit - On further reflection this seems to be another red herring.

Corrupt shapers? in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

Member # 6785

Most shapers are power mad. Going off to remote places to work on secret experiments to create more powerful creations, the whole cannisters and geneforge business, etc. are all examples. Very few shapers can withstand the temptation to gain power either through self shaping or modifying existing creations.

When my iBook G4 with 10.3.9 finally dies or Jeff's new games no longer run on it, I'll upgrade. At least it has Classic for OS 9 games.

Health isn't their problem except for pyroroamers. Their attacks aren't comparable to the other shaping types. Besides kyshakks have more than enough health if you want tanks.

You already saw in GF4 some shapers gathering cannisters in preparation to give themselves a little extra to help remove the rebels. It won't take much to push that faction over the edge into cannister usage to counteract a new drakon creation similar to the unbound.

Deathmatch Tournament - Round Three in General

Match 1 - Nemisis is pretty immune to Alec's insults so while Alec spouts on and creates the abominable photo thread to end all photo threads, Nemisis creates a scenario to end Alec once and for all.

Match 2 - The Battle of All Mothers. While they seem evenly matched and used to everything that children can throw their way, I'll give this to Saunders since she can reluctantly cut down Jewels with her blade of fluffly cuteness. It comes after several hours of tea and comparing albums of their offspring.

Match 3 - Arancaytar starts out summoning bots to shield him, but Nicothodes slips past and sneaks up next to Aran. Then bacon is no match for mechanical pencil. Although the grease does clog up the point.

Match 4 - Dintiradan send out his Legion of Terror against Thralni and the Chicken gods. This gives him time to use his Deth Ray and repair it and repair it and plug it in and eventually end the match.

Match 5 - We now find out that Alorael really won his match with the Silent Assassin because SA took out the Alorael bot by mistake. Delicious Vlish slowly floats up behind Alorael in his lookout. When the terror fails to affect Alorael's skribbane wits, he resorts to repeated fiesty tentacles of pain while reserving a few tentacles to keep that sniper rifle from being pointed anywhere useful. DV has plenty of experience in facing difficult battles from Geneforge, sneaking in to attack, and retreat around the corner before his opponent can respond so he can evade that rifle.

Match 6 - Tyranicus tries to level the field by shifting the battle to Shadowvale, but *i will script things back to place him in control. Stunning Tyran with his glower, he will stomp him into the ground.

Match 7 - Goldking gets overconfident after his last match and charges in to take out Ephesos. Not seeing the forest for the trees, he doesn't see that our druid is waiting for his lucky chance to cast divine retribution. That gun will get awfully hot and prove a distraction that costs Goldking the round.

Match 8 - Archmage Alex sends out his stick figure army while Salmon starts spamming to reach a new milestone. When the Archmage stops to post his congratulatory message, Jumpin' Salmon hooks him from behind and reels in victory.

I think the Shapers will fracture into two groups, the hardliners that will make new creations capable of independent thought have a fail safe that will make them kill themselves upon commands from the Shapers and the moderates that will allow some creation rights. The Rebellion will be split between the human/servile faction and the drakon factions with some cooperation between them, but they will each seek to rid themselves of the other's leaders. The Trakovites will still work to overthrow shaping so they will be the odd ones out and hunted at every chance. Plenty of XP for betraying them.

Old people need their sleep or is it that they sleep more because they are old people.

Alorael plots against Drakefyre for not giving him a custom title. So far he has been as successful as Dintiradan in taking over, but more successful than ET since he has a foot hold in the power structure.

what should I focus on more, magic or melee in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

Magic is the easiest way to go. You may need a powerful creation for the last part of the game to speed up the fights, but most of the game can be done with a single character.

Synergy's Insidious Infiltrator is the best example of battle magic carried to the extreme. You can also use a servile that uses some or even a lot of battle magic. Don't neglect mental magic because dazed opponents can't fight you while you slowly kill them.

A fighter with strong mental magic probably will work as well, but will take longer since you have to fight the monsters one at a time.

Don't neglect missles since those crystals do really nasty damage.

A topic to correct misconceptions about out most prolific member Alorael:

The Korean businessman is from Desperance, once upon a time (What's Desp? Another story). The transvestite is a latter-day addition.

You are being buried in memes. We need to start an "Alorael Facts" page, just like Chuck Norris.

Alorael ran out of skribbane once. It is now mandated by multiple international environmental protocols that this not be allowed to happen again.
