Blessing pools, etc. in Nethergate

I don't think that repeated dipping in the blessing pool gives an extra bonus. At least I never saw a noticeable effect. I pretty much just upgraded the weapons as I got them.

Items shouldn't be affected by user stats. I did see terror wands in A4 being more effective when used by a natural mage trait character.

Is there a way of doing that myself without upping my mechanics from 10 to 14?
I might be able to cheat using an "SDF" and if that is the only way does anyone know what it is?

Go into the folder called scripts to find the one for the mined shore zone. Scan down until you find the dialog with Camille and there should be a SDF. I don't have time to look myself.
Third, is the rubble in the lower school removable or will the blackened areas be forever hidden?
Yes, the servant mind clears some rubble so you can get a few items.
Seventh, I am following the walkthrough, Matt P's.
He has many places, up to Dhonal's island, in which he says stuff like, kill the golems and deactivate the acid baths.
That one is on the acid plant new the beginning of Dhonal's.
I am not even remotely able to defeat golems and barely other creatures.
Yes I am 'torment' and I can lower the difficulty but they still seem to inflict enough damage and I can't that I don't think that will help.
Yes, but I forget the damage type that is most effective. Try to use hallways to keep from getting swarmed and buff up before fighting.

Upper level in the southeast corner. You need to take one of the stairs up in the northeast area and go along the corridor from the barracks/storeroom area.

Note that one of those difficulty 90 locked rooms is for his rewards and the other is empty and just there because Jeff wanted to fill in the map.

Things are cooling off in Phoenix, Arizona since it only got to 98 F (37 C). We have to wait a while longer for warmer weather.

Just tweaking the freezing noses of all of the rest of you.

Rain in and of itself is not wet. It's only when the water in rain at a certain temperature range comes in contact with another substance can we determine by their interaction the condition of wet. :)

Come on you really didn't expect anything you say to go unchallenged.

Absorbing creations: necessary? in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

The major problem with low level creations is that they become susceptible to mental attacks in the last third of the game. Tier 4 and 5 creations seem to be immune.

This game assumes that you will replace creations, but as long as you have 4 slots you can just make a few powerful ones and keep your older ones. I had a lifecrafter that use 2 powerful creations for most of the end game.

You can get the research books without getting the other doors in X's upstairs level open (the rooms are empty). The one behind the gate isn't meant to be gotten. There is one in the Castle emissary's room near the entrance to the Tower Colony, and the others are all in the west part of the upper level lying on the floor and the main level in a closed off lab. Just look around.

"I get high on life."

I'm sticking with that until the Cheney government stops monitoring us. For those of you old enough to remember, Doonesbury had a series where Zonker Harris and Mark Slackmeyer were motorcycling across the country in a parody of Easy Rider. The get caught for drug possession and placed in a hotel room until trial. They find a bug and use that line. The case gets thrown out over the illegal bugging. Now a days they would never get to trial since under the Patriot Act, these subversives could be held indefinitely and the arrest could be kept secret for reasons of national security.

Stupid server made me retype this over an internal error.

Now they were off to listen to the rantings of a deluded woman. Maybe she had been drunk and hadn't finished it all.

They had managed to pick up a fourth for their group, Another stranger, but at least he seemed intelligent. He also was upset at the lack of a tavern. Too bad he didn't have anything with him to drink. *sigh*

Oh well they might as well humor that priest and go see Miriam. It couldn't take that long.

The group was guided by the assistant to Miriam's hut. It was going to be a waste of time as far as Al was concerned. Then he saw Miriam and knew it was a waste of time. A blind woman saw a demon. Sure she did. The place was probably being robbed by a passing stranger since the smith hadn't recognized the thief he chased off. Not that the place looked like it had anything worth taking.

So Al endured Miriam's boring talk about seeing the demon here ransacking her belongs. Blah, blah, blah, demon, blah, blah, blah. Now he really needed a drink.

I asked Jeff about future games using the BoA engine during Nethergate: Resurrection and he said that was the last one. So all future games will use modifications of the Geneforge/Avernum 5 engine or a new one. I thought after all the work to update Nethergate, that he would keep going with that engine.

Still I liked the revision.

You may just have a corrupt game file. Uninstall and reinstall might be the answer. You can skip the uninstall part by creating a new folder for a newly downloaded version to test this solution.

Strengths and Weaknesses of the classes in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

Helpful links under discussion probably is the best place to start. The advantages and disadvantages of each class will take a long time to mention. At least here you get to see how someone that knows what they are doing with a class can tell you about how to do it.

It comes down to playing style. Spellcasters tend to play agents/infiltrators since battle magic is their strong ability. The servile has stronger fighting ability, but is also a strong starting point for battle magic and has more health at the start. Those that like to have a large party go with shaper/lifecrafter for their creation abilities. Pure fighters tend to go for guardian/warrior although that isn't as easy for Geneforge 4.

You can get away with variations since mental magic works better here to daze opponents, but it doesn't work against all of them.

I like agent/infiltrator and servile but have played with shaper/lifecrafters and they can make a fight easier with numbers.

"There are no simple questions." - Deep Thought

Thus starts chapter 3 of Myth-Chief the latest in the Myth Adventure series by Robert Asprin and Jody Lynn Nye. I wish after the long wait some one had proofed the book after finding a minor mistake in the second chapter and its accompanying footnote to help out new readers.

Also out is Dragons Wild, a new series, by Robert Asprin.

Hey I don't need to do much now that the taxes are in the mail.

Blades of Avernum's low sales pretty much ruined any chance of another Blades type game. Even a new game will probably stick pretty close to Jeff's current customer base.

Of course if there are high sales for an updated Avernum series then Jeff can be a little more risky in his new game.

Threads never stay on topic for very long, but the original would crash before the 6th chapter at the rate it was growing. This does give some people a place to get it out of their systems since they have a slow neuron firing brain when it comes to hitting the "add reply" button.

Editted my post some to refer to what the blind woman "saw."

I hadn't noticed it had been so long since I posted since the RP hadn't moved much in time.

I may not post for a while since the latest Myth Adventure novel came out from Robert Asprin and Jody Lynn Nye. Phil Foglio is still doing the covers.
