I was thinking Spawner, actually. It explains how he knew EF from the n00b wars, and also why he's so nondescript.

Aren't Ecksians the people from the 'land down under', in Discworld? This must mean the villain is an Aussie!

I always knew those dangerous antipodal types would be a threat to our innocent podes.

I don't think I've been here long enough to have caught any such reference. I don't even remember EF being involved in episode one.

Nevertheless, I approve. Another well-written chapter, Diki.

Eternal Flame wasn't (somehow, I almost said 'Internal Flame'), but Spawner was the Ur-Noob's top lieutenant in Episode 1. He was the one who led the army for most of the episode, and effectively did all of the legwork. Thus, it stands to reason that, when they hired the mercenary regiment of flamers, it was Spawner that met with EF and worked out the agreement. Spawner himself was highly proficient with weapons, and also could change his appearance at will. He also was rather charismatic.

Oh well.

The line in question, that I was worried about, was:

"Your mom."

I thought that was a TM reference. I don't remember enough of TM's alternate PDNs to know if there was an S one. Alas that topic was vaporized by WKS and Aran's archives is missing parts of it.

Spiderwebs saga is not unique. I've been on both the Freelancer community and some massive company game forums, most of them have been invaded by gargantuan hordes of 1337 speaking noobs, some have been destroyed and some grow stronger. A board with over a million members is rather hard to stop once it's in motion.

I thought it was a TM reference too; that's what worried me. TM changed his PDN regularly (more often than I do, but less often than Alorael does, I think) so there were a whole slew of them, surely at least one began with S.

You're all missing one vital fact: TM wouldn't care less about SW. The members he wants to keep in touch with, he does, and if he needs to post something, he does it by proxy.

Micawber: You know, the only encounters I ever have with Kelandon have been ones in which is is throwing crude insults at me. They're not even clever like Thuryl's, so I made him the more brutish of the two. Maybe I did go a bit overboard but that is the point of caricatures. The axe is for his title.

Goldenking: It has naught to do with their member number. I'm against number based prejudice, remember? They are serviles because of their subservient nature. I certainly wouldn't make someone like Jeran a servile. He'd probably look more like Kelandon. Maybe with armor to symbolize his ability to take beating.

Imban: That image isn't even that big. How small is your computer?
