I am honestly trying to think of something to say here that will not annoy Dikiyoba, unfortunately I cannot find any response that you will not immediately turn into another one of your annoying jokes. So I'll just ask you not to continue this, or I will lose my temper. Stop stereotyping me to some purile FF noob wannabie, I've spent years distancing my character in every way from that purile show, and at every turn it's been "O_o he uses a Greatsword, it must be a Final Fantasy one guys! WTF lol noob!" I'm sick of it beyond belief, even if it’s a joke it makes me want to break things. So just stop. -------------------- *Eyes potential targets* Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

First, I am not annoyed as I make this post. Second, I'd go reread Drew's post again, because his post did not compare you to a Final Fantasy character. His advice would have been equally relevant if your gimmick was to throw paper planes at people instead of stabbing them with a giant sword--it's your attitude around the gimmick more than your gimmick itself that is causing problems. And it was serious advice, not something meant to make you look bad. Dikiyoba is out of time, so hopefully that is enough explanation. If not, Dikiyoba will try to clear things up later. -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded • Episode 5: Spiderweb Resistance Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

quote:No, you're the one relating yourself to "it"; I'm merely inviting you to stop, and trying to explain why. You get angry when we react a certain way to what you post. Well, this is a community site. While you are certainly free to post whatever you want (within the guidelines of the CoC, of course), it shouldn't be surprising that other people will react to what you've written. Given our reactions, what does that tell you? Your short answer is probably that we're a bunch of jerks, and that we don't understand you. If that's the case, then why bother posting here? Assuming however that you want to participate in a forum with the rest of us, consider the possibility that we do understand you, but nevertheless find reading what you've posted sometimes to be needlessly spammy or just silly. Again - I reiterate that we know that you're a younger guy who lives in Ireland, and not a greatsword-wielding Drow warrior. When you pretend to be that way in discussions about, say, the retirement of the stealth bomber, it's a little grating on us. Just be yourself! There's enough of a place for "Jeran Korak" to do his thing in the RPs. [ Sunday, March 23, 2008 11:16: Message edited by: Drew ] Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

Jeran, at this point the best thing you can do is not make a big issue of this whole thing anymore. Maybe lay low a little bit? Posting a defensive response to everything isn't a good way to make friends here. -------------------- Do not provoke the turtles. It's a massive improvement over the thread's previous course. Also, Dikiyoba is female. Just so you know. -------------------- Nioca's Citadel Posts: 2686 | Registered: Friday, September 8 2006 07:00 |

Female's get the "Sir" title like men? Wouldn't it be "Mistress" or "Master" or "Siress" etc? -------------------- *Eyes potential targets* Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

Lady Davida is (was? Not seen him for ages) a prominent SW'er with a female name, despite being male. Actually, it's not a new thing for people to have names not typical for their gender on here. I was Laurina for a while before TV, for instance. -------------------- Nikki's Nook - I am a stone that gathers no moss. Posts: 2864 | Registered: Monday, September 8 2003 07:00 |

Escaping puerility -- whether your genuine character or simply a way that others see you -- is like escaping from a Chinese finger trap. If you try to pull out straight away, you'll only get more stuck. Actually, if I remember correctly Sir David was one of those members who changed their name once for a joke, but were unable to change back for some time, so the name was stuck. But for a while only. -------------------- Pannaan kaikki hippulat vinkumaan! ^_^ Ooh!
