I like keeping Empire Archers and Dervishes around with me, since I generally destroy at least one major city during the course of the game, it's just fun to sling around the empires own dominated souls to kill them without mercy occasionally. EDIT: Hey why'd the 1337 newbie get banned? Check all the boxes, nests and etc, also the drop I think is chance based. If you have an autosave before that area, use it and try killing the Rotties again. -------------------- *Eyes potential targets* Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

I've played on servers with female players. There are three kinds. 1: The Strong. These girls are normally much better players then their male counterparts, and are generally extremely easy to provoke into shoving a 50+ AB attack mod up your IC backside. They also generally play as rogues (The profession, not the class), pirates or elite warriors. 2: The Lame. These pathetic woman back down their opponents by whining and screaming at them (In OOC) until they are to sorry for themselves to resist. Those who fail to be cowed by these cry-babies generally take it in turns to laugh at them, and get banned when the "innocent victim" runs to the DM with tales of other players "Bullying" for "Sexist issues" and etc. This kind almost always plays as magic users, and seem to have a permanent IC boyfriend (ALWAYS unmarried) who is just as whiny as her. 3: The Playful and Motherly (Not that kind of playful you perverts). These players take things in their stride, and are often DM's. They are fair, fun, and like to help those in distress. They also have a strong "motherly" spirit, and have unorthodox ways of dealing with PK's and troublemakers (I.E stripping their characters naked and dumping them into an inaccessible area with an automatic resurrection script and a dozen CR 43 monsters). -------------------- *Eyes potential targets* Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

I am wondering if I should comment here, but I'll take a chance. I sometimes wonder the wisdom of using the same system all the time throughout his games, as it has proved amazingly easy to crack. Will Jeff ever try a new system? Would be interesting to see how many members stop posting in the new forums afterwards :P (Awaits lock & stock) -------------------- *Eyes potential targets* Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

Sometimes, the dark man wondered if he had ever truly had a beginning. He was a wanderer by nature, and when not exploring the epic vastness of the multiverse he had time to think. Time to think in that great darkness that separated the universes from the never-ending either that was the energy of pure emptiness. He felt the taint there. It was pathetic really, a memory of a memory, buried under four thousand years worth of re-entries. Had it really been so long? Did time have any meaning to a being who had exceeded his species’ projected life span by well over three thousand years, and had spent that entire excess period being violently and unwillingly bounced between universes where the laws of physics had the same survivability rating as a one-legged hedgehog on an eight-lane motorway? Someone really should come up with that bloody theory of everything already. “Destruction is my way” he said aloud, then felt rather stupid. He was alone, a few miles from the village, without water or much food, and the ancient laws dictated that his power was void upon entering a new dimension for the first time. “What an end to this tale” he said, consuming himself in the monolog “Three thousand years, and it ends on the spears of these peasants” He remembered everything of his life, from the day of his birth to the day when the…abomination first came forth from the mists of the void to destroy his race, and then afterwards there lay before him the endless worlds he had travelled in hopes of escaping that dread creature, and his last encounter with it, all was neatly arrayed on shelves of woven neurons in a brain not meant for corporeal existence. Then, inevitably, he remembered her. Over his immeasurable existence, Jeran had possessed many lovers, even a few wives. He was in no way physically unattractive, and womanizing and drink had proven to be rather effective ways to get the universe to ignore him, no-one cared for a drunkard lout looking for his next sob-story. But there had been one woman, one much like himself in many ways. An outcast, a stray, one cast aside from civilisation, a pawn of beings she had hated. The tale was long, and Jeran never quite managed to remember it all before the black shadow descended across his mind. The taint, the memory returning as strong as ever, wallowing in the shallow pools of total hatred the thought elicited. Disgusted, he turned away from the tangle his thoughts had become and stared out at the slowly setting sun, his life slowly drifting in front of his eyes. Maybe it was better if he just lay down and died… Hey, now that is way not the attitude I expected from you. Jeran groaned again. Ah yes, the universal law must finally be releasing its grip, the voices had come back. All this depression, must be bad for the completion. Which one are you? Redhead, black took a holiday for a while, says he can’t stand seeing through your wine-readened eyeballs anymore. A shambler eh? I used to summon those allll the time you know. Would the both of you please just go away Jeran thought furiously. The voice faded with an unpleasantly human-sounding giggle. He sagged again. Wait a moment! he thought suddenly, almost jumping off the ground as the thought struck him. Whoever said there was only one of those creatures! Yes! That’s it! Jeran leapt in the air, the idea of fighting something that couldn’t spout repeated clichéd monologs at him was one of the few things he truly enjoyed. He looked down at his travelling cloak, it had been severely torn by the devouring mass, and the scabs would still take days to heal fully. It was a perfect plan. Jeran stood for a moment, taking in the sheer potential of it all, then practically ran towards the village. -------------------- *Eyes potential targets* Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

Plus the fact that seeing this opens the doorway to the idea in the Deathmatch: I can script, you can't, this script will turn you into a level-1 noob so I can pawn you, you die! I win! Basically, what you are all saying is that nothing on earth can stop someone capable of scripting such things, to be realistic, a scripter would actually have to write out -all- that code while avoiding an enemy of equal strength. Unless they're allowed to take them into the deathmatch pre-prepared, in which case there might as well be no deathmatch at all, the winner is the first person who draws. -------------------- *Eyes potential targets* Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

Alorael, vs. the Silent Assassin Unless SA could go stealthy the second the match began, Alorael's Superiour Epic Weapon Focus (Sniper Rifle) would punch through his AC like a 2d12 Fire Damage modifer through a wall of mundane ice. ADoS, vs. The Big A Aran is SW in a major way. Without him, the archives would probably never have existed. Aran incinerates ADoS under seven years worth of archived flames. No contest. Goldenking (aka: The Chicken} vs. Drakefyre aka SEPHIROTH (Honestly, I don't understand why, but from the moment I came here I simply cannot imagine him in any other way except a winged, white-haired demonic-eyed and insanely cool genetic super-warrior) Gold Boy will find it hard to post his insane abilities after having his account slashed apart with a super-long Katana. Ash Leal vs. Evil Overlord MK CXVII The chainsaw is a melee weapon, if Evil Overlord MK CXVII has time to activate his super-weapon then no ammount of holy rocks will prevent Ash becoming a patch of scorced earth. Nemesis vs. the Underappreciated Demonic Apparition from the second Frozen Hell. ET has serious class, and while I find myself hating his guts occasionally I find the general attitude towards him seriously uncalled for and depressing. ET shoves Nemesis' 10 ranks (Mild-manneredness) down his throat then dominates him for life with his permanant 20+ charisma modiferer. Zeviz vs. Stareye Zeviz fires NUKE, which detonates the antimatter machine which instantly converts the entire planet into expanding waves of energy, end of story, and life as we know it. SoT vs. the fishstick jumper No comment. Jewels vs GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not even a ban can prevent the unstoppable power of the ultimate BoA designner. Terror incarnate slams into Jewels, followed by a large number of R-rated contrived boss enemies, in turn pursued by TENTACLE. Finally, TM himself graces the battlefield, and his single word of command obliterates everything for a thousand miles in every direction. End of Jewels, end of bosses, end of TENTACLE, end of everything. DONE, GONE, YOU LOSE. -------------------- *Eyes potential targets* Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

Spiderwebs saga is not unique. I've been on both the Freelancer community and some massive company game forums, most of them have been invaded by gargantuan hordes of 1337 speaking noobs, some have been destroyed and some grow stronger. A board with over a million members is rather hard to stop once it's in motion. -------------------- *Eyes potential targets* Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |
