Originally written by Igor: North- Crate Crate Barrel. What does that mean? Push the 2 crates and barrel until they line up on the rugs along the west wall. When they are in the proper order, the portal send you to a different location. Where are the goblins the witch wants you to kill to get her skulls back? She said east, but the only goblin settlement I found was Galag-Trav. I looked all around Galag-Trav and didn't find them. The goblins are hiding to the north and south outside the mountains surrounding Galag-Trav. One in the trashpit and the other in a cave near the river. Why does the Blade of Vengeance do extra damage to goblins but not formorians? Formorians need the Fomorian slayer blade. They are classed differently than humanoids since they are giants. Roman singleton on torment can't kill Raven and Reptrakos. Celt singletons can summon wind warriors to kill everything. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

When Jeff posts for later beta testing he is usually looking for different operating systems and computer models as well as experience. Only Jeff knows what will be accepted. If you do submit, Jeff can take over a week to reply to those he wants. Once you submit a non-disclosure agreement, it can be 3 or more days before you here from him again. The CD-ROM includes the registration codes so when you install from it the full version is ready. Real handy if you need to reinstall. It also has demo versions of the other games, so you can try them out and later register them without having to download them (except Nethergate Original that is on a separate CD). I have an iBook G4 too. There should be a CD-ROM that came with the computer that has Classic (OS 9). Install it and when you need to install or play and OS 9 program it will run to give an OS 9 screen and allow you to play. You may need to reboot to install Exile games. There used to be a topic in General explaining Basilisk installation. This is one of several emulator programs that allows you to play older games on Intel based Macs by creating a virtual environment that makes the game think it's running on an OS 9 machine. Someone else like Tyran can explain it better since he's done it. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It's a matter of the time required to balance a feature with the rest of the game. A5 adds battle disciplines so fighters have more options than melee or missle. We've barely started testing and Jeff was surprised that I had adrenaline rush before leaving the demo (Yeah, it's my fault that you can no longer legsweep with starting characters, too). It affected the balance that it was too easy to acquire new battle disciplines so it's now takes longer. When you have jaded min/maxers that take the game to an extreme any new feature can get out of hand. Also some features were dropped because players didn't like them. Exile 1-3 and original Blades of Exile are OS 9. You need to have Classic mode available or if you have the newer Intel chip Mac use Basilisk or an emulator. Khoth has a version of Blades of Exile the runs in OS X (here). Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Jeff purposely nerfed Roman spell casting after seeing repeated abuses from the original game and early beta testing. You don't need war circle spells about 4 (quicksilver boots - haste). You can after the demo get up to 8 in craft or beast circle spells. Armor use increases the damage reduction of the armor and Romans are the only ones that get the best armor. Tool use gives experience that is lost with pass portal spell. Romans are supposed to be at a disadvantage in this strange place. You would be surprised how much they can kill with these disadvantages. Still Celts have it much easier because of their spells. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

4. The only weapon poison is the Alien Waveblade and Assassin's Dagger. 3. Fields are out because the AI doesn't have a way to handle them. It's the biggest exploit that you can hide behind them and monsters won't go through them to attack you. Only chitrachs going through a null bug's antimagic field. Otherwise start with a single character of at least 15th level and preferably higher. No spell casting allowed. This is why the pre-fab is recommended. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Exile 3 isn't as nice as Avernum. The two closest places to sell stuff is west and a little north to New Cotra and go outside and southeast to Krizan. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

He might be dead. If you saw the shade in Silvar and retreated in the direction of the Inn, the shade can follow and killed townspeople in that direction before retreating to it's lair. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

quote:Actually XBOX games were first tested and demoed on Mac computers when the XBOXs weren't ready. Microsoft regularly developes graphics on Macs and then ports them to PCs. I love that Jeff releases games first on Macs. Considering how few games have Mac versions it's a definite perk. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
