I know you don't want to hear this but I did most of the game with a Roman Singleton in torment. When it isn't an outdoor encounter just creep up until you can just hit one monster and then lure it back with a missle attack to do them one at a time. The druid shielding spell makes almost everything before the Ruined Hall do no damage or very little.

Go visit the Crone Cavern and clear out the bottom level. The rats are nasty but doable if you keep your fighters blessed and shielded. The basilisk on the entrance level is hit or miss on killing it before you get stoned. Also some of the Burial Glen is possible. Save often.

Buy training in first aid since with the kit it gives back health and some spell points, but only once a day. It's better later on in the game between fights to conserve healing.

Did you go into inventory mode to sell things? You should see that screen when you offer to sell.

Look the Windows versions I've run Exile games under were Windows 3.1 and XP so I haven't as much experience with them.

It really depends upon the machine in use.

You forgot first aid so you can actually heal yourself a significant amount. You can use the first aid kit by clicking on the symbol in inventory and as a once a day power by typing "u" and then "b."

When a monster dies to a summoned creature or through poison damage where it dies without you hitting it, then you don't gain experience. Also summoned creatures don't give experience when they die.

At level 10 you should still be getting a point of XP per goblin.

It depends upon whether you have a Mac or Windows computer. Most of the Exile games are OS 9 for Mac computers except that Khoth has a carbonized OS X version for Blades of Exile so you have to play them in Classic mode or use an emulator like Basilisk. For Windows computers there shouldn't be as much of a problems if you have the games open with Windows XP mode.

Speaking of matches, try getting through a dungeon with them. At least this was the third one I had to look at before I died of laughter.

The Myth Adventure series by Robert Asprin with the last novel, Mis-Gotten Gains, where it looked like Aahz might finally get his powers back. Sure they're silly, but figuring out literary and pop culture references while still having a story that grabs you and have an investment in how things turn out is rare.

Just make sure you send Jeff enough information so he can locate your original purchase, like the name it was purchased under at the time.

Does the game completely end in Avernum 3 in The Avernum Trilogy

Avernum 1 and 2 have three different main quests that you can complete and still get to explore the caves. Avernum 4 has a final ending like Avernum 3 where you can't do anything more after you reach a certain point. No word on what happens at the end of Avernum 5 which is still be written.

Fire draught seems to be the most ineffective potion of the lot. You can get through the game without using it.

*spoiler* you will find that it doesn't change the ending.

Read the equipped melee weapon's description by unequipping it and you will see that it now has a line about hitting better and for more damage. I doubt that it's much more than the druid's bless spell made permanent. Still what can you do if you only use the free and reward usages.

New games usually get their own forum at the start. Nethergate: Resurrection being an exception. Since the removal of the bottom two forums there is room for Avernum 5 while a decision about where Avernum 4 should go.

It interests me that everyone assumes that Solberg's new familiar is Cheeseball. Cheeseball, sadly, expired. (Which is why it wasn't in Avernum 4.)

Solberg has a new familiar now, Cheeseball Two, who is more in line with his current mood. Then, of course, there are the others ...

You wouldn't need them if you just use a speech synthesizer to read the text so your babel fish can translate it for you.

Try summoning some creatures that are immune like shades to deal with the thug mage while you sleep it off.

I didn't have any trouble as a tormented singleton, so maybe your build is off and you should rethink your character.
