Well except for the shapers being used for druids and some drayks for dragons, there isn't as much overlap. At least graphics isn't slowing down developement. [ Saturday, March 31, 2007 06:16: Message edited by: Randomizer ] Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

These will only join for a limited area: Southforge Citadel - Artila named Greenfang after Swans quest to calm the fyora Illya Safehouse - Khur if you are pro-Rebel in reputation Rebel Camp Aziraph - can get melee and missle fighters, channelers, and servile techs Poryphra Ruins - Shotwell if helping the Shapers Quessa-Uss Gates - I think with high leadership you can get the drakon to help in your duel with Scourge Northforge Citadel - can get drayks for the Testing Inner Shaping Hall - can get drakons to defend against Shaper invaison Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Leadership and mechanics are the same for all difficulties. You need more as you go through the islands. One trick is to use leadership against certain creations where you gain experience if it is high enough (the thahd outside Greenwood Academy and the five blocking the bridge) and then immediately go into fight mode to kill them for bonus experience. Guardians have it tough in GF3 since the broken parry of GF2 was fixed. Still some people have used them without too much trouble. I ran one through the first 2 islands before I stopped the game. Slarty - By the time you reach the Great Cave you have the skill set to train for resistance without sacrificing spell ability if you use natural mage or pure spirit to help gain spell casting levels in one of them. I made a mistake and started spending spell points for resistance before reaching the trainer in Fort Remote and never finished my old game. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The best thing that was transferred from Geneforge was the character inventory system. Otherwise the older players hated large amounts of the Geneforge influence. Jeff has said that most of our complaints will be addressed starting with a decent plot. Also the return of elevations and boats that made Avernum so special, Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I never tried the Northforge Warrens group since they are grouped to nail singel characters. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Daze finally became very effective in GF3. Spellcraft improves all you magic spells (battle, blessing, and mental) so try to increase this one. Mental is cheaper and for a guardian that is important so add a few levels by the second island. Daze will have a chance against basically all the monsters that can attack you, So daze first against several opponents and then go after the closest ones that resist. You may have to repeat for large groups. If they are dazed then they can't hurt you. For torment the monster's health, damage and a few other things increases. So battles take longer and they hit harder. You have to be more careful. The best thing to do is go after all the experience that you can. So put some points to mechanics so you can unlock doors without using more than one living tool (8 to 10 for the first island). In the testing area, go through one side and then go back through the other to kill testing creations for extra experience. It's hard but doable with some buffing and several attempts to figure out how. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I'm guessing that you went pretty much pro-Rebel throught chapter 5. Although I know you can't pass up the Forbidden band that's dropped by Drosstro so there will be a big fight in Khima-Uss. Gressin Freehold you will help out the cryodrayks and kill the drakon messenger. I guess if it moves it's dead in the Grayghost Mountains and just to be sure you'll destroy the pylons. Lost has the same problem that Hill Street Blues had long ago, just when you think they are going to finish a major plot line, they don't. It's a show meant to show off technical ability. How many places can you find that the characters met each other before the got to the island? I still like it because something interesting always happens like Hurley finding Sawyer's stash of porn or the VW bus from the others was on a beer run. The answer about the blue circled door was done by Jeff himself shortly after the game was released for Macs. He changed his mind about having us fight the eyebeast so he locked the door forever. Poor eyebeast. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

He's not that nasty. I killed it on torment with a single character. Although you should buff up before using the ritual. Don't miss the loot in the room behind the altar. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

There are some doors that can never be opened. In Quessa-Uss off the dueling arena to the northeast is a room with a eyebeast according to Jeff. I went all the way to the end of the Shaper Camp back near the game's start. Do it in several trips to remove the regular guards that don't get replaced and to get to the controls to turn off the electrified field (the building behind it). The guards do drop nice items. Daze is only meant to really work for the first 2 chapters. There are some monsters in the later chapters that will be affected by it. In chapter 3 you can get strong daze and in chapter 5 there is mass madness that are improved versions. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

There's some nice loot and an item recipe in the area. As a rebel you have to come in from Khima-Uss and work your way thru a tunnel to "clear" the zone. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
