I assure you you are most mistaken on this point. Love and intimacy can never be rated highly enough. There is nothing more important or rewarding for a human being. Life is about human relationships and making meaningful ones. You don't even really have your own personality except in context to and in relationship with other people. If you haven't had any happy relationships, it's still worth working for and finding.

If that's not enough, loving relationships also reduce your risk for a number of diseases and significantly increase your life expectancy.

—Alorael, who believes there was still some question as to whether the benefits were for the lover or the loved, as its usually difficult to do testing of non-reciprocal relationships. Hope for the latter and fools to gull into thinking you care!

It would be somewhat interesting to see where all our anti-love people are in a year or five.

It has an amazing tendency to reoccur, despite suspicion it would breed itself out of existence.

Is this, perhaps, evidence of nurture (such as it is) over nature?

Edit - it needed some.

Seems to me like as good a reason as any to stay the hell out of love.

I'm not anti-love, so much as anti-falling-in-love. The nausea is a real-turn off...

people are usually anti-love because they got hurt by somebody. after awhile, that pain shrinks and they find someone else.

There really is no escape, and even when they try to leave they always come back, except for me :P

I can think of several people I love and that love me, and I really enjoy that sensation.

I dislike falling in love however, as it's either euphoric or unpleasant depending on the other person, and more often than not results in pain.

Unless the one you love is passing on a STD or anything else they caught. Gee I'm actually agreeing with Thuryl outside of a game forum.

STDs, the ultimate in purposeless illnesses...

I was going to go into a bit on that, but I decided to save y'all the pain.
