I think the Titan was lured to the area by Monarch and not one of his creations. I'd have to go back and check the text. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Demonslayer is only good for its defensive abilities. You are better off with other weapons for attacking or the Cyros spear for its extra AP. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The mayors in Avernum are elected by the locals. Although some of them seem to be forced into the job and take it reluctantly. By A4 the mayors have lost a lot of their power during the regency leading up to Starrus taking over. They are locally powerful, but have less control versus the king. I meant that if he didn't have the slime quest acknowledged that he would need the Filth Factory done. You can get up to Gale after the Slime quest. I did it once to get Move Mountains at level 3 in order to see what was hidden in the Filth Factory. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

If you really need experience, then just kill pylons. Stand just outside their attack radius which is one less than your attack radius. It takes a long time, but they give such nice treasure. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

You missed the point of the Trakovites. They recognize that shaping can be misused. That is why they want to eliminate it after see that centuries of Shaper control hasn't led to a way of preventing misuse. If the Shapers had been better at controlling their power instead of kill and deny it happened, then the Rebellion would never have happened. The Rebellion frightens the Trakovite since it appears that the Drakons are out of control. They are the other extreme of too much freedom to shape and no care about the consequences. The Trakovites would probably be closer to the Rebels if the Drakon faction wasn't there and especially not in control. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Thuryl ran a challenge with a no spell shocktrooper and showed that it works. Actually with enough intelligence, you can create an army of creations to destroy most anything. If you prefer spells to weapons then go lifecrafter. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It's different enough if you are running a bunch of tree hugging Roman druids. Jeff went through and gutted every loop hole I found in the old game. He really is making the Roman side for fighters only although that is being revised. I miss having a well dressed Roman druid running around in blessed chain mail and large shield. Being able to ignore encumberance penalties because they don't apply to spells. At least I reached darts of ice and can kill more than 1 target per blow. I'm waiting to see how badly he handicaps the Celtic druids. [ Saturday, March 10, 2007 22:00: Message edited by: Randomizer ] Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It's obvious that Synergy thinks his side is right. All the others are temporary allies to be discarded when they become inconvenient. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Sure, if you like to fight. Go to Southern Grosch and head north to exit the zone into Northern Grosch. In Northern Grosch you head east or west along the edge to avoid the mines since the disarms are on the other side. Round the buildings to fight a group sitting around the campfire. Then head to the center and kill 4 serviles guarding the stairs down. You are now in Monarch's Realm. Head west and you will find him waiting. He will usually flee north through the electrified fields. The controls are to the west in a spore box. Edit - Beaten because my computer crashed and I had to reboot. I'll give it a 9.0 since it is one of the best Geneforge games. Still not as great as Avernum, Exile, or Nethergate, but it made me play it several times. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Behind that grandmotherly face lies a cold calculating nasty mind and a heart of dry ice. Just remember what she called Geraldine Ferraro during the election and how she treated her daughter-in-law after her son Neil cheated on his wife. She taught George W, everything he knows about being a vicious bully. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

You can make a melee attack after spell casting or another attack. Also there is a bug that allows you to move if you use it to search an item that isn't adjacent to you. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Matala's Workshop is along a path following the eastern edge of the zone to the north. The Breeding Pits is entered from Frostwood into the west side of the Northforge Warrens and then go south before the pylon wall. There are a few pylons in the way in Frostwood that you can shut off. You can't enter the Abyss until you finish Rentar-Inhro's fortress west of Fort Remote. To get inside once you get through the pylons there is an entrance on the south side of the entry area that gets you past the barred gates. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Attack those creations enough and you can get killed, especially the kyshakk or the shaper raider in the southeast corner. The only ones that you can successfully fight are the thahds near the gates and sometimes you get the deathblow and experience. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Advanced Dungeons & Dragons once explained that mix and match gloves and boots caused problems, For instance one boot of speed would cause that side of the body to move faster than the other causing instability. Same with the eyes of the eagle where it would be like a mismatched eyeglass prescription. I did play a game where a player got the gamemaster to allow him to use 10 +3 rings of protection at once with cumulative effects. Great armor class, so he got hit by spells all the time. Become an instant academic on Wikipedia. It sure beats the grind of getting a decree. Besides everyone is more likely to believe you if you can claim importance. Sort of related - I saw a bumper sticker today - Intelligent Design or Random Mutation with a picture of George W. Bush on it. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Wikipedia is now going to require proof of academic credentials after finding out that a prolific poster who claimed to be a thelogical professor was a 24 year college dropout. The advantage of anonymity is being able to claim vast amounts of knowledge. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
