The Shapers will want the idea of the Geneforge and canisters gone forever. No one should know that there is any way but under Shaper control to learn shaping and even magic.

The idea that a Rebellion almost succeeded will only encourage others to try and learn from the mistakes.

Each servile tech adds 5 to mechanics. The lowest I've seen in the Fens is 15. Most of the mines in Monarch's Realm below Northern Grosch are 25 difficulty, but there is a route with 20. The worst traps are 30, but the chest with 30 difficulty doesn't have anything of real value.

Some of the mines release creations like a kyshakk in Grosch Pits near where Kryryk is held.

An alternative hypothesis is that Ed is an extra account created by a mod to provide an extreme example of noobish behavior that could be cracked down on in order to scare the other noobs into better behavior. Every few months he is brought up to encourage cleaning up the boards.

GF1 has serviles getting the idea of banditry from a human book.

Some creations just want to be left alone. The serviles of Sucia Island would probably resolved their differences eventually when one faction died out. Since the Takers were being poisoned by a sealed lab, they were more likely to have been the ones.

The Rebels want to kill all the Shapers and their collaborators. Then the drakons will take over and rule over their Rebel "allies." We already can see in Khima-Uss how the drakons will run things.

The Shapers aren't much better with kill the Rebels and their collaborators. They define collaborators much more widely as seen by what happens in Dillame. In order to prevent this from ever happening again the serviles will be created with a willingness to die for the Shapers even though they know this is happening to them. Once everything is back to normal this incident will be hidden away like a barred island even if it means massive executions of all neutral witnesses.

Personally I think you should stay down in Misc. and keep the place neat until Tyranicus shows up again. Then you would have a whole forum to control.

A place to reign since you don't want to serve.

Micro evolution can be seen by following several generations of short lived species. Birds in the Galopagos Islands are continually evolving beak shapes to deal with changes in food sources.

Macro evolution that results in major changes is harder to observe since most of the intervening steps are missing from the fossil record. You can't count on a steady stream of evolving creatures all neatly dying in the same area so they can be later examined and dated.

I tried to imagine what TM would have done with Student of Trinity's post and started shuddering. Even that version was too easy.

Congratulations on the milestone. Plant some herbs.

Probably go back in physics research and hire people to do the boring parts of experiments I'm interested in doing. The worst part of graduate school was hunting for noise sources that obscured the signal I was looking for in the experiment.

Oh, and hire someone to sit on ET. Preferably some one over 300 pounds (140 kilogram).

Try Nethergate if you want that type of spell system. It has war, healing, craft, and spirit spells. You need to have certain levels in the first two circles to get levels in the next two, You'll find that you can get by with war and healing spells with scrolls for the others.

Singleton in Avernum 4

It means more work hauling loot back to town, but the extra money is only used for one character. Makes it real easy to afford everything.

There are several possible ways to make a singleton that will work. Try something and if it doesn't work see what the problem was and start over.

After doing it several times as a lifecrafter, I've done it as a servile with just the 3 servile techs so I could get all the experience for disarming mines and traps.

The first time through is always a pain until you figure out a good method. I burned up lots of essence pods buffing my creations to get through a fight that wasn't that hard.

The funny colored ornk types grazing south of the mine field and north of Horis' workshop along the east part of the zone. Killing them opens a passage in the northwest.

I really need to try it sometime. I ignore them since they were grazing.

Hints to hunt Eliza? in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

Mechanics of 10 is a good number for Illya province. Combined with the tinker's gloves gives you a 12 to get the infiltrator's tunic. Killing Mythisus gives the infiltrator's cloak and now you have 14.

Eliza isn't too bad, it's dazing or killing the summons since the artila type is nasty. The thahds are easy to deal with and give her damage. If you've been north then essence shackles can help.

Once you kill and report the 5 infiltrators deaths you get the kill Shorgass quest. The reward is a free access to Northforge Citadel through the Freehold without having to do the other quests. Still why pass up experience.

I never tried to destroy any of the "friendly" towns, but Dillame looks to be easier than Poryphra Ruins in terms of the deadly shaper and guardian named characters. The creations are spread out so you should have time to recover before they can swarm. The guards shouldn't be any worse than the other Shaper areas and terror should keep them busy.

For A5 - Keep it fresh for tanks! in Avernum 4

The older combat system had 4 AP (5 occasionally with fast on feet trait) and more when hasted. You could move and still cast a spell/attack with 1 AP. To attack you needed 4 AP and spells were 5 AP so you usually needed hasted mode to cast 2 spells but with fast on feet you could sometimes get 2 attacks.

A4 switched to 8 AP and made a minimum AP needed to attack/spell. This resulted in numerous complaints about moving too far and loosing a turn. Also you needed to use items first before attacking since the attack would use up the turn. Hasted was a little better for not losing the turn.

Genesis is kind of vague on the actual sin so it could have been bestiality, incest, and a few other weird acts. What is clear was they wanted to something to the angels that were Lot's guests that wasn't considered normal hospitality.

I don't think anyone has ever pushed battle magic and spellcraft combined to that level. It really makes the combat spells ridiculously powerful.

Shouldn't you have the ingredients to make a second mental focus charm or did you turn Monarch's papers over to the Shapers?

Keep up the good work killing everything in sight.

You probably aren't powerful enough yet to do Dillame. By the end of Burwood you should be able to do so, and you can practice on Poryphra Ruins.

I think your definition of evil leaves out acts like genocide where the action is not out of ignorance, but a deliberate action to achieve an end that is destructive. There you are not falling short of a goal, but chosing a goal that has negative effects.

Bots are computer programs designed to do some task like locating computer sites, copying all the posts to Aran's archives and gather statistics about us, pretend to be a person to open accounts on a forum web site to post advertising, play an online computer game to gather items and/or money (the boring stuff), etc..

The purpose is chosen by the author of the program and depending upon the skill it can mimic a person.
