Did you talk to Alwan? That also reduces the prices. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Training prices with the Shapers is based upon current reputation. Training prices with the Rebels is usually for doing a quest in Illya Safehouse and Rebel Camp Aziraph. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

There is an old topic from last year that explains how to allocate points to be able to open extreme difficulty doors. Good luck finding it. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Dikiyoba - You could always do shorter pieces when the mood strikes you. Coming up with a long episode that pleases everyone is hard. I'm not saying this since I got significant part of Episode 3. Take a rest and write what you feel like. Nice chapter by the way and I liked what happened to ET and Alorael. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Congratulations on a milestone. It's like cutting down the tallest tree in the forest with a herringbone. To Pale Flamming Muffin - There was some criticism a few months ago for milestone posting topics below 10 posts. Mini-mods refers to people acting like mods without the power to do anything. It works fine for me, but I'm using an iBook G4 PowerPC G4, 1.33 GHz, Software OS X 10.3.5. The problem seems to be in the Intel version. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Wingbolts and gazers run out of spell energy for their missle attacks half way through the fight. I wound up having them go into melee and kept blessing them. When they recovered enough in 3 to 4 rounds they would back off and go missle again for the final fight near the drakon. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Does this mean a warning label on all Spiderweb products? Those product liablilty lawsuits can be nasty. I forget what I was watching that mentioned some of the weird warnings on packaging. "Do not use iron on clothes while wearing them." Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Back in college I used to buy soda pop by half a dozen cases of cans at a time. I could go through a six pack a day. This made the custodians in the physics building very happy since I left them in a box next to the garbage for them to recycle. One of my fellow graduate students figured out by testing the exact height to drop a bowling ball to completely crush a can with out the ball rolling off. No wasted energy. Now it's mostly tap water. There were some people that believe in predestination, so whatever they do was going to happen and they have no responsibility for their actions. Since there is no free will they shouldn't have to suffer for the consequences of their actions. For the rest of us we believe in punishing them anyway. You can always tell them, "The punishment was predestined so suck it up." Now for athiests who believe in no supernatural power. There isn't any way to prove you right or wrong in this world. After you die, well if you are right then it doesn't matter since there isn't anything. If you are wrong well then you'll have to wait and see. I've used the game's character editor 3 times in all these years. In Exile 2, land of the Vahnatai in that Empire supporting sect fortress, I saved the game after using the boat to get to the spell crystal only to comeback and find a save glitch left me with no boat or way out. So I used exit town to save the file. In Blades of Exile, A Small Rebellion, I was using the spirit filled gold mine to make extra experience and maximize treasure when my money went negative. I eventually reset the money. In Avernum 2, Kothar, I got myself trapped in a spot and used up all my spell energy before figuring out the spell I needed to move out. I used the editor to regain spell energy and just left. If I had saved an early game I would have just used those instead. Otherwise I keep going and don't make a godlike party. Nyah, next time make it more. Just because that bandit did it as well and the Vlish in Geneforge 4. It beats the monsters that change form and completely reheal so you have to start over again with a different damage type. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

There's always an idiot that will help someone out. Gaming isn't any different. My father's example, which he showed me happening a minute later was in Chicago. On the Outer Drive south of 50th Street there is a wide sidewalk that a car drove down until it ran out and then the driver waited for someone to let him back into traffic. The driver avoided having to spend several minutes in heavy traffic because of his illegal action. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It happens from time to time for maintanence, but there should be a notice. Then there are server errors that block access. I usually just try over and over every 5 minutes until it works. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I'm not in the mood to run the analysis that Slarty likes to do, but some of the recent meta-postings are related to the increase in new members that occurs around new game release. You have some members that wish to indoctrinate the new members into the cult of Spiderweb. Having a new member like Infernal Flamming Muffin provides many opportunites to make meta-posts correcting noobish behavior and in general act in a superior Spiderweb manner. Most of these practioners are relatively new members, the 4th generation, that have been here under 2 years. This provides the many posts regarding correction of spelling and grammar, don't start too many topics (at least in general), the revival of game polls, and the general insults. It would take more effort than I want to spend to go back and compare the surge in meta-posts with the last few game releases. Also the last purge by JV would have eliminated some of this data from over 2 years ago so it would have to be done using Aran's archives. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Modern medicine allows people to survive that normally would die. Whether this will result in more lethal genes being passed on or saving genes that might be useful later on is still debateable. One example is increases in allergies in the Southwest United States. It was believed that allergy sufferers were moving there and marrying so they produced more genetically prone sufferers. An alternative theory is that these people were planting gardens with the same pollen producing plants that they had moved away from. They were bringing the cause with them. Enviroment versus heredity. In Africa the runners on the east and west coasts seem to favor different types. The east side was more long distance runners and the west were sprinters. This is after dozens of generations. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

You may miss out on some minor quest and rewards, but play the game however you want. Lately there have been several power gaming threads showing how it is possible to play certain characters. And then there are the challenges where after playing the game several times it's now time to play it with restrictions. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I'm not sure, but the key you get for killing her should also unlock that door. You need to be fairly pro-Shaper and have high leadership to get her to unlock that door. Otherwise Matala will attack. Canister is Aura of Cleansing. [ Tuesday, February 20, 2007 03:00: Message edited by: Randomizer ] Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
