There are 2 Khyryk quests, one for the Shapers and one for the Rebels. Click on the quest for details and see if it tells you who asked for the quest. You also need to return to the person that sent you on the quest. I don't remember if for the Shaper quest if you also have to see General Crowley. I started out as a #3. I agree with Alorael, that having a lower number impresses the newer members. The older ones just wonder who you bribed and with what to get it. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

If she doesn't already have it with her, bring an iPod or a similar device to drown out what she's hearing around her. You can't be there all the time to distract her from the hospital noises. There is a limit to how long you can visit and you will run out of things to say eventually. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

You mostly lost experience. As soon as you leave the Citadel to do the Caravan quest you can't collect the reward for the Deathcap Mushroom Quest. Jeff fixed the complaint about quests remaining that can't be fulfilled. This eliminates conflicting quests like help/betray caravan. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Everyone starts off at fire shaping 1 so with the above items you can get fire shaping 7 without using skill points. Those items are only needed for creating creations so they can be stashed between uses. Keep infiltrator items with you and most of the charms. Cloak of Shadows can't be made until near the end. You only need leadership of 6 so it's not hard. You should read the reputation and reward information to decide which side to mostly help. There are certain items that benefit certain classes so that may help make up your mind. An infiltrator. lifecrafter, and servile using spells will want the skien of wisdom from bringing the kiln ruby to the Shapers and the spellcasters want the items to raise battle magic spells. Just sit in the east side of the storeroom and find something else to do like read a book. Eventually he will come into the room and you will get a dialog box telling you that you saw what he did. The wait is the most boring part of this quest. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

There are a few places where the Geneforge rage and "high" leadership give you some experience. Canister rage guarantees a fight. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The view that Monarch came from GF1 was based on the types of creations he makes. There aren't the higher ones in GF2. The fact that both sides disown him implies that he wasn't a major character from the earlier games. Of course Shapers lie a lot to cover things up so he could have been one of them. They really have to upgrade those locks when they seal a lab. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Cryoas from the beginning of the game are effective especially when blessed. Fyoras are basically to suck up damage in Sandros Mine. Artila are cheap and effective. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Cake does give some useful experience when you are running out of places to get it. The food is almost worthless at this point in the game. I went back and looked at that cake in Turabi Gate and there are 2 there. I think that the correct item was Captain's Boots that got confused with cake. When you get to a dialog choice like Swamped Crossroads or Frostwood you will find that canister usage number outweighs leadership. With high leadership and low canister usage you can "avoid" the fight, collect some experience, and then kill them one at a time for more experience. Vampiric touch gives you a chance of draining health from your enemy, I think equal to the total vampiric touch of your items. This chance happens on any attack. Even non-lethal spells like essence shackles will trigger the message that you drained them. In playing with a thirsting knife, the gloves and greaves that have it I found that I wasn't getting back enough to make it a useful way to play. There are plenty of better items for a lifecrafter. Tyranicus is about the only one that still posts in the Nethergate Forum. Jeff said he would use the old Nethergate engine and mostly update it to the new operating systems. There are also supposed to be a new dungeon for each side to explore so we have something new to look forward to this time. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The first two encounters can be done earlier by sacrificing creations as a lifecrafter. The Old Golem is really meant for after completing Chapter 3 - The Fens of Aziraph. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Stun blade is supposed to have a better chance of stunning your opponent. Most people upgrade to the steel broadsword since dead opponents don't need to be stunned. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Rely on daze to stun most or all of the opposition. At worst go into fight mode when entering a zone and buff yourself with speed, blessing, protection, essence shield, and augmentation before fighting. There has to be something that you can kill if you move forward slowly so you don't get swarmed. Turabi Gate is easiest from the south side. You need to be in fight mode and hasted to go from hiding spot to hiding spot. The two items there are well worth the effort. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
