We need more administrators. The ones we have now are doing the job OK (well, except Linda, when she shows up), but more admin activity could do a lot to restrict the level of nastiness possible in periods of administrative inertness and make instant negative feedback for villainy easier to implement. Alorael is perfectly qualified. 1) His post count exhibits the two things he is capable of: hanging around for a long time all over the place. 2) He is blameless and his elevation would engender fairly little controversy. 3) He is a Jew. 4) Some other reason. Elevate him now! [ Tuesday, March 27, 2007 12:39: Message edited by: Protocols of the Elders of Zion ] Posts: 794 | Registered: Tuesday, October 11 2005 07:00 |

Seconded, or thirded. Possibly fourthed on a good day. Give him a custom title, too! :P -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

This will also position him to prevent anyone else from ever exceeding his post count since Drakefyre and *i are nowhere near his level. 6) Pedestrian deaths will decrease since he will be too busy banning us. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

7. Newbies will no longer be confused by seeing Alorael with different titles in different subforums. 8. Every person who supports this proposal gets a mod spot when Alorael is installed as an admin. -------------------- Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword, For it too has the power to kill. I vote for Alorael too, but only only under the condition he use his almighty admin powers to solve... er, I mean, Alorael is the best guy on the planet and should be an admin! Seriously, though. This place could stand to have more admins. I've never seen a day that DF's message box hasn't been full, and I don't really know much about this *I dude, so I can't say anything about him. Alorael has(from what I've seen, though there is a big gap in between my Spiderweb tours of duty) been a pretty solid guy and Spiderweb could stand to have an admin. Sidenote: All in all, in my (limited) experience. The only one who rivals Alorael in reliability and effectiveness is Imban(and no I'm not brown nosing on that off chance he ever gets to be in a position to help me out with my master plan. Same goes for Alorael *insert shifty glance here*) -------------------- "I don't understand a word you just said. Try speaking American. It's the only language I understand." Forty-seconded. Alorael is the man for the job, obviously. But Alec, if you're going to make being a Jew one of the criteria, I'm going to have to draw the line at proposing Infernal for adminship. Actually the whole "custom title" thing is extremely frustrating because it's very difficult to tell if someone's a Mod or an Admin at a glance. I wish part of the price of becoming a Mod/Admin was that you could only wear a tag with your title in it. Posts: 85 | Registered: Sunday, March 18 2007 07:00 |

You do realize that the mods are listed in the header of the forums they moderate, right? Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Given that 1) Drakey is never around. 2) Schro barely shows around General and 3) Star is always busy. I agree that the board needs another Administrator. And despite Kel's recent (yet obvious) attemps to rise in power :P , I can't think of anyone more qualified than Alo. Therefore, Alorael for '07! Edit: Dude, we are in '07. I don't know what's up with me and dates lately. [ Tuesday, March 27, 2007 13:59: Message edited by: M. ] Posts: 1035 | Registered: Friday, April 1 2005 08:00 |

Alo has been very good to me. He is a regular god and his vote of Alorael probably doesn't think he does deserve the job. All in all, a praise Alorael before all other mods is a vote for sanity and stability. More reasons for Alo to be elected to the Administrator position: 9. Every active moderator should be an administrator. 10. It will prove that these boards are a true democracy and the power here belongs to regular forum members, rather than some self-important corporation. 11. We haven't had a moderator election for too long, and this is the next best thing. 12. This appointment will prove that administration truly cares about well-being of the boards, because Alorael replied to concerns about current board climate with a comment along the lines of "problems? what problems? there are no problems". I will withhold my support-- if only to be dissident (and so I can say "I told you so" if the boards burn up in a freak fire in the near future.) So without further ado..... quote:The campaign to unban TM is the most widely supported campaign on these forums. In fact, when a question on whether you miss TM was included on a survey a while ago, almost everybody said "yes". (The only two other responses were sniper jokes from people who never miss a chance to make a joke on such surveys.) This level of agreement hadn't been seen on any other question raised on these boards. From politics to music to game preference no other opinion carries as much support on these boards. This is the clear indication that TM is one of the most well-liked members of this community. Further, TM had also been a very effective moderator in the past. Sure, there were some excesses, however, he did an undeniably good job of driving away spammers, flamers, and other trolls. In addition to this, TM is also a very prolific BoE and BoA designer, with immense contributions to both communities. As the moderator list for BoE and BoA forums indicates, how important of a BoX designer you are is the most important quality for moderating these boards, far ahead of such minor questions as whether you have made more than a dozen posts in the past year. All of this brings us to the obvious conclusion that TM is in fact the perfect candidate for the Administrator position: he is extremely popular, has extensive moderator and administrator experience (he even ran his own board in the past), and is one of the most important BoX designers. Thus, I fully support Lazarus' suggestion: TM for Admin! TM... TM... I know it's been awhile, so could someone refresh my memory as to what it was he did?
