They all have a dark side. Just turn in a spy and the next time you go back to where the spy was you find a puddle of blood.

There is no good side, just how much evil do you want to support.

It's in the demo area, but I never checked to see if you can get to it.

Japan has even tougher gun laws, so when A guy goes crazy he grabs a sword and starts hacking away. It's not as fast and the body count was lower, but gun control won't solve the problem.

I liked an op-ed quote about predicting psycho behavior. A psychiatrist said that most people with that type of behavior (exhibited by the killers) become lawyers and politicians so he doesn't think screening would help.

Serviles are for the most part exploited. Everywhere that you see serviles under Shaper control there are plenty of whips and shackles lying around to keep them under control. If Shapers hadn't created them, they would have created something else to do the work.

Serviles are the slave class. Just like slaves allowed Athens to have its golden age and us to have cheap workers using Mexicans. Of course now the Mexicans are complaining that even cheaper workers from farther south are taking over the worst jobs.

Patchar's Plate is on Kuper Island accessable from Bigail. I thought you needed to visit Gale to get in there.

You can go pretty far up the east coast but without being able to get into any towns. I know I played an unregistered version of Exile 3 a few times before I registed. You really can't do much without getting into the northern part after a while.

It just shows that it's how a class is played on whether it's workable. Still you want a build that allows for more than hit and run tactics through a parts of the game. You aren't an agent.

Slarty made the list but used his university account to post it. Since he graduated, they probably closed it out.

Have fun.

The two new dungeons are a fun challenge, kind of an expert area. Plenty of new items and little changes from the old Nethergate.

Most of us don't shift items that much during battle. You try to get the best items for a general situation and minimize swapping. Besides you still have to watch your weight for encumberance.

What I carry with are the potions, wands, and scrolls for extra spell power. I have them for the major fights.

Edit - there used to be an item database at the top of the forum, but the link needs to be fixed since the account is gone.

Thuryl - do you have to troll the newbies? I know it's easy but it's more fun to go after ET.

Radiance is supposed to do extra damage versus undead, but in a test with three items at once - sword. shield, and necklace - I couldn't get a noticeable increase.

The rotgroth in the wrecked lab gives you time to attack or flee unless you close to melee with it.

Go to the farthest NE corner by going along the corridor north of Motrax's cave. You have to be next to the east wall to get the message and see a passage open up to a hidden chamber. It has one of those large crystals like the one that marked you in the mines north of Fort Draco.

Crafting Item list? in Avernum 4

There is one quest in Fort Remote for herb ingredients that you want to do since you net more potions, including a knowledge brew, than you would get crafting them.

The quests that ask for ingredients are better since you can get experience for them even if you sell the items.

I don't how it couldn't happen Tyran.

It might be that Jeff hasn't gotten around to sending out the non-disclosure agreements yet. I know I gave up looking at my email the day before he sent out the ones for Geneforge 4. I almost missed doing it because there was a few day delay between the announcement for ending applications and sending out info.

Pretty much. The quote about in it for the money is from Kyrkyk and one of the lifecrafters you meet is on fire. Jeff has some great quotes and descriptions in the game.

Be sure to cycle through all the quotes by Shaper Grim in Poryphra Ruins. He has some nasty digs at serviles.

Judith moves within the towns when she is in them. So you have to spend time looking for her. In Shaydar it's usally along the main streets near the center and near the hospital.

The spells got tweaked a little like daze, but the boats made the game drag. Having to go to the appropriate dock and shift items from island to island so you would have all the ingredients to craft slowed things down.

Plus you were forced to choose sides on the third island. No more fence sitting.

About the best then is to play the other demos for Nethergate and Geneforge series even though they are different types of games.

You might try a site like The Underdogs where you can download free games that have been abandoned my their makers. They have games for Windows and Macs.
