OOC: Mars may actually be savable, although I doubt it. Considering his demonicness is based on the movie series, Evil Dead. Only one man was able to regain his humanity, and he was the star of the series. So basically, Mars is probably screwed. Yay to my subconcious for thinking that one up. Anyway. IC: Lone Flame: So you mean to tell me Mars is a demon now?!? Well, no wonder he tried to kill me. I'm gonna go see if I can't bring him back to normal... or kill him. Anyone with me? Wiseman: I'll go with you, but only if you have some shurikens in that jacket of your. LoneFlame: Of course I have shurikens in here. I have everything and the kitchen sink in here. Shall we go? *After a few hours of searching, casting a modified magic map spell on a piece of paper, LF and WM have no success. Wiseman: I wish that pathetic loser would show up so I can beat the hell out of his weak self. *Mars despells his stealth spell and tries to stabs Wiseman, LF casts force cage on Mars before Mars can get him. Wiseman: I knew that would work. LoneFlame: Nice plan. Now to make him transportable. *LF castes slow on Mars and Avatar on himself. Then LF pulls out ye holy roll of tape and binds Mars with several layers of it. Then WM and LF return to ef, while draggin Mars with them. "Oh my God. Well let's see." ef focused on Mars for some time, seeking for clues. Then she turned to Lone Flame. "I cannot use Repel Spirit or like spells. An evil overwhelmed him and drove him out of his body. He is still alive, he is around. I have to get it out without destroying the body." Watching Mars closely, ef emanated light, white and golden, and sent it towards the demonic creature. Mars body cringed, then twisted and moaned, until he was shuddering and shaking uncontrollably. The eyes rolled, bulbed, then closed. With a shriek the demon creature vanished, evaporating into nothingness. Mars body was lying on the floor, very still. "It is up to him now, Lone Flame. OOC: I'm assuming this is nighttime, I'm making my way back to the Inn we're at. Firedrake, having been wandering around, walked down a few alleys, looking for the inn. "This doesn't look good," he thought to himself. Suddenly, several shadows began to appear. Running out of the alley, not wanted to fight in that small face, he entered a street and turned around. 5-8 assasins jumped out at him. Fending them of, he swatted at a few with his Assasin Daggers. Managing to kill a few, the others ran. Firedrake, still dazed, decide to keep looking for the inn. Sullust stands guard outside keeping his eye out for any more assassins. The moon is particulary bright. However, it becomes much darker as an immense black cloud moves in front of it. Sullust: "Hey Wiseman, does that cloud look strange to you?" Wiseman: "It is moving to fast to be a cloud; it seems to be coming this way." As the cloud draws closer the two warriors finally realize what it is. A massive swarm of bats is flying towards them. Sullust draws his bow and immediately begins firing arrows at the beasts. Wiseman goes in to warn the others. The town guards helps as well, but there are just too many. -------------------- Lt. Throwing waves of shurikens with both hands, Wise Man shot down many of the creatures, but they just kept coming, in the hundreds, if not thousands. There's no way I can have enough shurikens for this. "I'll be back!" OOC: Dang it. I go off for a bit after I start this and everyone posts a bunch of stuff. Oh well. IC: *After a few hours Mars decides that it's time to take his body back from the control of the demon, or be destroyed trying. Upon finding his body, Mars discovers that the demon has already been removed from his body, which Mars happily reclaims. Mars arises from where he's laying and searches for someone he knows. Shortly after he began his search, he comes across Lone Flame. Lone Flame: Welcome back to the land of the living. Mars: I could say the same for you. Got any idea what's going on? Lone Flame: Not really, but the would seem to be some strange thingy that we could use you're help destroying. Mars: Cool. *Mars and LF blast the bats with repeated fire spells, but the spells seem to not have as great an effect as desired and the bats are still alive. Mars: Ever hear of fireproof bats? LF: Yeah. In Avernum. *Mars pulls out his throwing daggers and kills several bats with them. "Archmage, your ice-spells!" Turning round from where he was blustering bats with fire, Archmage Alex realized Lone Flame's dilemma and reacted spontaneously. Ice bolts shot forward, eliminating the menace. Lone Flame got up. "Thanks, that was dicey. I'm freezing. Take a care what you're aiming at. You almost got me." Wise Man couldn't find any pitch, but he DID find a nifty autocrossbow. Grinning, he grabbed the weapon and plenty of ammo. He ran back to the battle and began spraying sharp incendiary bolts at the bats. LF noticed the weapon, and asked, "Hey, where did you get that?" "One of the nearby armories. Where else?" LF: You stupid monsters are going to die! *LF pulls out a razor-disc and closes his eyes. Soon the disc starts flying after bats and slicing through them, while Mars continues to throws his daggers, and Wiseman fires his crossbow. As LF is killing random bats, one bat lunges at LF from behind, but LF slices it in half with his sword, but unfortunately losses focus on the razordisc and it slashes Mars's arm. Mars: Ow, that bloody hurt. LF: Sorry. *Mars heals himself, then throws a dagger at a bat that was trying to get Wiseman from behind. Wiseman: Thanks. Mars: Don't mention it. *Wiseman kills 2 bats that were going after LF. OOC: Who am I forgetting to include... Oh yeah. IC: *Alex decides that the fire isn't working and freezes a bunch of bats in mid-air, which causes them to fall and shatter on the ground. Alex: They just keep on coming. Wiseman: Yeah, I know. Late in the night, Firedrake gets ready to leave on his mission. Finally figuring out what is REALLY happening, he decides that right now is the time to act. He gathers a few important things, and heads off. FD: It's time... With that he heads towards the central palace. On his way, he attempts to talk to ef through her powers. FD: "ef, this is what I know so far. Tonite the Archmage Ren'tharl meets with General Lewis. Also also found out that we've been set up by someone! The rival gang that we took out that we thought was behind the attacks on us was actually resisting the Generals plot to gain power in this region. He sent those goons to attack us in order for us to do his dirty work. The soldiers there that ambushed me as I left were General Lewis's men. The last few days we've been here, I've been collecting information. General Lewis is starting to gain power in the Exile Provinces here on the surface. He already controls the only way into Exile. He's cutting us off from help. I've also heard rumors that the city of Coronis, west of here, is under seige by the general. There have also been reports of several other attacks on nearby towns. If he gains power, he will be a risk to the Empire and Exile. The General knows we are here. He's been watching us from the beginning. I think that someone is acting as a spy in our very own ranks! I don't know who, but I'm sure that someone is spying for him. We can't run back to New Silvar. The Sea is blockaded by his ships. He'll catch us. I think the best choice of action is to sail west of here to Coronis and help evacuate. We'll then retreat to Coronis's ally Kerli and plan our next move here. I plan now to enter the palace and try to kill General Lewis and the Archmage Ren'tharl. I doubt I will succeed, but I must try. Get everyone else and run. I'll get out another way. A war is gonna break out soon, and we're stuck in the middle. I'm going to head in now. See you at Coronis hopefully." And with that FD broke into the palace through a side window. Heading down a large hall, he ducks into a small side room to avoid some guard. "I better use the air ducts to avoid the guards." Heading back out into a hall, he sees a duct in the ceiling. Using his climing skills, he gets in and crawls. For many minutes. Finally he hears the voices of the General speaking with several others. "How is the seige going on Coronis?" "Very well sir, the city will fall within a few days." "Good. What about our visitors here?" "They are unaware that we know they are here," said with a slith accent. "Great. Everything is going according to plan." Firedrake reaches the air duct near the meeting room. General Lewis: "Have you burned the town of Saelin for resisting us yet?" "WHAT! My... hometown?," thought FD. Commander Halk: "Yes, it is done." Shocked that his hometown was burned, FD stays where his is for a few seconds. The shock quickly turns into anger. Busting through the grate with his Mithral Daggers drawn, he stands up. General Lewis: "Who the hell are you? GUARDS!" FD: "You burned my hometown, NOW YOU'LL DIE!" And with that FD lunges at Commander Halk, dispatching him with a swift stroke of his blades. The Archmage begins to cast spells and the General draws his sword. Several guards burst into the room. FD fought with the guards and managed to beat them, but then was blasted through a set of doors by a Firestorm spell. Several Dervishes entered the room and other guards began to surround him. FD: "I'll kill you with my own hands someday." And with that FD runs away, down halls. Escaping through the main entrance, he dispatches some guards with a wave of Shurikens. A Dervish steps up and swings, resulting in a Assasin's Dagger through him. Running out into the streets, turned down several side streets, until he ran into a horse, and began to flee the city. I cannot tell you much more, but I will, later on. Rest a bit, you won't have to wait long before the fighting starts again." 'I just hope, FD wins through to Coronis. If not, I will have to help out. One point is clear to me: I don't like the General's politics. I would have had to fight anyway, here or back home. So what. - Lethalis, Lethalis, wake up, listen.' and ef filled him in. 'Keep your eyes and ears open. The spy can be here with me or at the inn with you. Stay in contact. I will do the same.' "Guys, we go to Coronis. The city is under siege and we help the people evacuate. It won't take us long to get there."
