It's been many days since Zeviz has posted in this thread. Now, his absence could be a simple case of not having 2000 posts. Or it could be a sign something more sinister... ----- Zeviz is in his basement, adding the finishing touches to a self-destructing toaster. Behind him, Veziv is spinning around in a swivel chair. Veziv: Whee! Zeviz throws a screwdriver at Veziv. Zeviz: You could help me, you know! Veziv: I did! I helped you post! Zeviz: Oh, one post. Big help. Some evil clone you are. That's the last time I buy anything from the Diabolical Devices Discount Store. Everything in it is junk! Zeviz's Computer: If I had feelings, I'd be deeply hurt. After all my years of service! What have I ever done to you? Zeviz: Well, for starters, you're full of adware. Zeviz's Computer: I am not! (Pause.) Buy... Zeviz presses the restart button on it quickly. Veziv gets up and depresses the button on the toaster. Self-Destructing Toaster: No toast for you! The self-destructing toaster explodes. Zeviz: That's the third time you've done that! Stop it! Veziv: What are you going to do about it? Unlike your computer, I have no off button. Veziv returns to the chair and resumes spinning. Veziv: Whee! Zeviz picks up a length of rope and ties Veziv to the chair. Veziv: Let me go! Zeviz gags Veziv as well. Then he returns to the ruins of the self-destructing toaster. Zeviz: Now I have to start all over again. How can I ever become the all-powerful dictator of a world-wide dystopia if I can't even get a simple self-destructing toaster built? Zeviz's Computer: How is a self-destructing toaster going to help you become dictator? Zeviz: It won't. I just want a self-destructing toaster for my kitchen. Zeviz's Computer displays a rolling eye emoticon. Zeviz's Computer: Oh, Big Brother. Dintiradan's going to take over the world before you even start. He might even make it to 2000 posts before you, at this rate. Zeviz: No, he won't. Zeviz's Computer: Are you sure about that? Dintiradan runs by. Dintiradan: I have 428 posts! Did you hear me? I have 428 posts! Woo! Zeviz's Computer: Okay, never mind. (Pause.) Buy an anti-adware program today! ----- Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Normally, I like Guardians. I just naturally play a Guardian-type strategy in Geneforge. I didn't vote, though, since this was intended specifically for G3, and I haven't played G3. Dikiyoba doesn't have too strong a preference for any of the three classes over the others anyway. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

If you have a stockpile of them, use them now. I think unlocking things gives you experience. If you're always out of living tools and you have the money to spare, buy some more. You could always save your game, use the tools, see what's behind a door, and decide if it's worth having or whether the tools would be better spent unlocking a different door. Dikiyoba's strategy is to up mechanics to a ridiculous amount, so Dikiyoba doesn't burn through very many living tools. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Originally by Delicious Vlish: quote:That's because in G1, the Awakened had nothing. They had a noble goal, but no way to implement it, or even protect themselves. quote:Really, slaying Tuldaric would solve some of the Awakened's problems. No more demonic summoning and fewer reckless experiments. Of course, that would also mean doing without the powerful shaping, but many serviles have already been shaped and would pass that along to their descendents. It would also mean deciding who would slay him and ensuring that no one took his place. There's really no moral justification for the enslaved drakons, but at least the Awakened in G2 are salvageable, unlike the Barzites and Takers. Dikiyoba. Well, some things are too important to be sold like living tools, essence pods, javelins, etc. because they might be useful later on. Other things aren't worth anything, like trash. Originally by Micawber: quote:Right. The fact that Dikiyoba's shirts are all hanging up in Dikiyoba's closet arranged by color proves nothing. No official update to the script today, but Zeviz has given me permission to present the short script, Return of the Evil Overlord (which most of you have seen already), and Zephyr Tempest has given me permission to present the short script, Trickery in Summoning (which may need an additional scene). If Dikiyoba recalls correctly, there is a secret passage on a little piece of land just below where that gate is. It should lead into a room with two vahnatai dressers. One should have the "button" in it to open the gate. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

But if your character is obsessive-compulsive like Dikiyoba's, you always know where to find unsellable mundane items. They've all been collected and dumped into designated "junk item zones" in nineteen neat piles of ten items each. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Meeting individuals living away from settlements and "outside" was a nice feature of A4. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Hang on to anything that looks unusual, valuable, or odd. Many items (like artila eyes) can be used to forge items. Herbs are useful for a quest. Not having played G3 much, that's about all Dikiyoba knows. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Yes, I remember monsters in A2 opening doors. But they don't always open doors, so sometimes closing the door is an effective strategy. If nothing else, it can be used to buy time. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

To a certain extent, it's good to have a few exploitable extremes, since it encourages people to try out different strategies to find them. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

No, because then the people with 1-star karma ratings who like slimes would be happy. I don't know of any but I'm sure they exist. Dikiyoba suggests leaving the karma rankings the way they are and using liberal amounts of level 3 repel spirit as a cure for over-impishness. :P Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |
