Congrats Zeviz!

I can see the big brother stuff working for 1984, but you've only got 1980...

All right. What's so special about the 1980 Olympics, Zeviz? Are you protesting celebratory topics by posting your own? :P

Oh, and congratulations.

Thanks for all congratulations. :)

And if you are wondering about the pictures, all of them are [or will soon become] relevant to this thread in at least 2 ways. Looks like somebody already figured out that the first picture was related to 1980 Olympics. The subjects of others should be pretty obvious.

Any guesses on the connections between the pictures and this thread? :)

You started this thread with post 1980, the next one was post 1984, and next you will make posts 2000 and 2001?

I think you missed one. The freaky tiki thing is 1998 as well as 2000. I found 1998 on the top of the picture in case your wondering. Oh and yeah, congrats Zeviz.

It's been many days since Zeviz has posted in this thread. Now, his absence could be a simple case of not having 2000 posts. Or it could be a sign something more sinister...

-----

Zeviz is in his basement, adding the finishing touches to a self-destructing toaster. Behind him, Veziv is spinning around in a swivel chair.

Veziv: Whee!

Zeviz throws a screwdriver at Veziv.

Zeviz: You could help me, you know!

Veziv: I did! I helped you post!

Zeviz: Oh, one post. Big help. Some evil clone you are. That's the last time I buy anything from the Diabolical Devices Discount Store. Everything in it is junk!

Zeviz's Computer: If I had feelings, I'd be deeply hurt. After all my years of service! What have I ever done to you?

Zeviz: Well, for starters, you're full of adware.

Zeviz's Computer: I am not! (Pause.) Buy...

Zeviz presses the restart button on it quickly. Veziv gets up and depresses the button on the toaster.

Self-Destructing Toaster: No toast for you!

The self-destructing toaster explodes.

Zeviz: That's the third time you've done that! Stop it!

Veziv: What are you going to do about it? Unlike your computer, I have no off button.

Veziv returns to the chair and resumes spinning.

Veziv: Whee!

Zeviz picks up a length of rope and ties Veziv to the chair.

Veziv: Let me go!

Zeviz gags Veziv as well. Then he returns to the ruins of the self-destructing toaster.

Zeviz: Now I have to start all over again. How can I ever become the all-powerful dictator of a world-wide dystopia if I can't even get a simple self-destructing toaster built?

Zeviz's Computer: How is a self-destructing toaster going to help you become dictator?

Zeviz: It won't. I just want a self-destructing toaster for my kitchen.

Zeviz's Computer displays a rolling eye emoticon.

Zeviz's Computer: Oh, Big Brother. Dintiradan's going to take over the world before you even start. He might even make it to 2000 posts before you, at this rate.

Zeviz: No, he won't.

Zeviz's Computer: Are you sure about that?

Dintiradan runs by.

Dintiradan: I have 428 posts! Did you hear me? I have 428 posts! Woo!

Zeviz's Computer: Okay, never mind. (Pause.) Buy an anti-adware program today!

I can sense Dikiyoba's next Spiderwebber fanfic brewing. The plot would revolve around the Ur-Ad and his adware minions invading the boards. The exploding toasters would be working on the inside, elimanating Spiderwebbers one-by-one. It would be titled something like "Attack of the Adware and Explod- Visit Bob's Fishing Supplies Today!!!".

They also have hunting supplies. The prices are decent, and if you show your out of state ID, they don't charge sales tax.
