Altering certain default items in BoA has horrible effects, but you'd have to ask TM or someone who's actually experimented enough to find out which ones. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Well, undead make good minions for actual villains, since most of them can be created and controlled by evil magicians/artifacts. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Well, while most of Canopy's spells are just over-animated attack spells of doom, I wouldn't say that they're useless. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

I don't think anyone here suggested that healing potions were terribly useful, either. Sure, I could drink a Healing Elixir, but I could also just cast Healing to do better than that for like 2 SP. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

I'm fairly sure Djur meant "Arbyte". And that, for once, he didn't mean any offense, although I doubt he'll be displeased that he caused it. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

I just killed the succubus. If you do things properly and attack first rather than talking to her, and remember things like Radiant Shield helping a lot against Efreets, you can even do it as a rather low level. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Hey, if you have an utterly ridiculous level of Unlock Doors, you can unlock non-magically-locked doors with it too. You can also just bash them down. Still, neither is really recommended. >_> Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Hey, the stat boosts and the Lucky Cape from Roses of Reckoning help a good bit. Not to say it's a good scenario, of course. >_> That said, because of the way BoA works (and how scenarios have been so far), you can generally get better equipment in third-party scenarios (because designers have different opinions of what's "balanced", treasure-wise) and better experience in the four main scenarios (simply because they're much longer). As best as I understand it, you can put the sound into the .cmg file, but this will only work on a Macintosh. The equivalent method for the PC would involve tampering with the Blades of Avernum .exe file itself. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |
