As best as I understand it, you can put the sound into the .cmg file, but this will only work on a Macintosh. The equivalent method for the PC would involve tampering with the Blades of Avernum .exe file itself. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

quote:Alec posted a message containing the lines "Welcome to Fagotville / POPULATION: YOU". The person thus welcomed was not amused and accused Alec of homophobia. Djur, a moderator at the time, replied with a dictionary.com definition of the word fagot (specifically, the one referring to a bundle of sticks bound together). The administration proceeded to ban both of them for vulgarity. To be honest, Alec may well have deserved the ban he got there, but the ban levied against Djur made a good chunk of the board's population quite upset with Linda. If the crime tolerance is 2, you should be able to nab one item out from plain sight before the law (and the wrath of God, in this scenario) strikes you down. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

The one time I did write in to Spidweb for a game replacement (for BoE), they got back to me within a day. That's pretty impressive customer service. Anyway, I don't really see how this tutorial could be anything other than the ability to register the game regardless of whether or not you've paid for it, since you either know your registration code (in which case you can just put it in normally...) or it's different (different computer, for instance) / you forgot it, in which case you need to either write Spidweb or use a method that doesn't require actually knowing your code. Obviously, any such method would be illegal. As such, this topic gets the lock. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Amusingly, the prostitute in Cresent Valley also carried a frigging huge sword and was by far the toughest NPC to kill in that town. I guess in that way, she had a bit of character, even if the scenario made her blindingly generic. >_> Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Neverwinter Nights is a great game, although if you want to make the most of it, you'll need a decent internet connection. Still, it's playable even without one, since it's not online-only. Planescape: Torment is supposed to be really good, if you liked the Baldur's Gate series. Unfortunately, it's also impossible to find. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Ezrah, do you have to say that in every thread you post in? >_> quote:Close, but not precisely accurate. The reaction to something which is perfectly human is positive. ...y'know, those $600 video cards aren't actually required for any game currently on the market. A $150 video card, while expensive, will let you play everything just fine. And, well, sometimes graphics do make the game. They can add depth and immersion, as well as being gameplay elements themselves. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

I'd like to think that I'm better than an AI, at least. Tedium is less important than maximum efficiency to me, in gameplay, so I never use auto-combat unless it's clear to me that I'm missing something, in which case I'll watch an auto-combat or two to see what I'm failing to do.
