I don't have a certain favorite, as I can get myself to enjoy pretty much anything. Not everything, though; some stuff is obviously trash. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Alas, I do not follow or like one particular musical band. Whatever music sounds good to me, I listen to, usually rock n' roll with a mix of classical on the side. -------------------- "Truly, if there is evil in this world, it lies in the heart of mankind." -Edward D. I listen to a bit of everything, but no modern pop (although I listen to pop in combination with genres on the rock&roll-grindcore spectrum), and the only hip-hop I listen to is Gym Class Heroes, an emo/hip-hop band. My favorite rock bands/artists are The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, AC/DC, and Billy Joel. My favorite grindcore band is the band whose name rhymes with Banal Punt. My favorite metal band is Pantera. My favorite disco band is Electric Light Orchestra. I love They Might Be Giants (links to their official sites in my sig), who don't really fit into a particular genre, although they have definite rock and pop influences. My favorite classical composers are Gustav Holst and Edvard Grieg. My favorite swing band is the Glenn Miller Orchestra. My favorite punk band is Bad Religion, and my favorite emo band is Something Corporate (the lead singer apparently has leukemia unfortunately). Musica Antiqua Köln is rather good, as is Itzhak Perlman. One thing about classical is there's no shortage of "bands" and soloists. —Alorael, who sincerely hopes that you can identify his taste in music from the above. Knowing it from previous topics doesn't earn you any points. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

It depends on my mood - Cannonball Adderley, Pete Seeger (with or without The Weavers), Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Josh Redman, Keiko Matsui, King Oliver, Cyrus Chestnut, Mose Allison, Mark Knopfler, Bonnie Raitt, James Ingram, Dave Brubeck...mostly jazz and folk, some classic rock, a couple other genres... I just got a CD of Jewish music from Moment Magazine. Some of the performers (Peri Smilow, Gershon Veroba, Lenny Solomon) were good - I have to try out more of their work. -------------------- Life may be unfair, but that is no justification for anyone to make life more unfair than it normally is. - Edward Flattau Posts: 4 | Registered: Sunday, March 27 2005 08:00 |

Rock and roll, man! Mostly alternative rock, though, and a lot of classical. Beethoven classical, not The Who classical. I'm listening to a lot of Coldplay, Ben Folds, The Killers, and Cherry Poppin' Daddies, and Branford Marsalis' Romances for Saxophone. My favorite band changes from day to day, but my favorite genres never really change. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon Polaris = joy. quote:Not sure about NIN, but otherwise, good work soldier. As I keep repeating, and as my signiture hints at, I am madly, deeply obsessed with Radiohead. It's music that I want to sleep with. I also have a strong love of The Smiths/Morrissey. He writes lyrics like no other, and hasn't "sold out" to be famous. Whilst I want to sleep with Radiohead's music, I'd love to marry Morrissey's words. Other bands include Massive Attack, The Jam, The Clash, The Who and Madnees. Solo artists include Pamela Wyn Shannon and Ayumi Hamasaki. Blame a friend for the last one... Pfft. NIN is an acquired taste, it seems. (I couldn't stand them at first. They've really grown on me, though.) Also, add LimbLifter to that list. That music turns my frown upside down. Posts: 70 | Registered: Sunday, December 19 2004 08:00 |

Hip-hop, rap, R&B, and the cream of all the other crops. Except emo, punk, death metal crap. My favorite artist is probably R. Kelly, who shows no signs of slowing down (Trapped in the Closet, anyone?). -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Happy Happy Joy Joy desperance.net - We're Everywhere ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse!
