The best birthday present I ever got was being reunited with my father after 2 years because he had some business to attend to in Europe. I know it doesn't sound like a fantastic present, but it meant a lot to me to see my Dad after not seeing him for a long period of time.

Edit: One word typo

Since I'm in between classes now and have a few minutes to spare, what is your best joke?

For me, it's: "If con is the opposite of pro, then is congress the opposite of progress?"

Gotta love political jokes that are sad, but true.

I come back to SW and this is the first topic I see.

Um, it's really hard to comment on this without violating borders of the CoC, so I'll say that it seems appealing to me to see two attractive girls kiss each other and that's all I'll say on this.

Although I do not know you that well Marlenny, happy birthday to you anyways. :)

vgmusic.com is actually one of the links under my Favorites section. It has a wide variety of video game music from the past to the present...well, a lot of music, not all video game music.

As for favorite video game music, nearly all of Final Fantasy 10, the boss theme from FF6 (so addictive), the boss theme from FF7 (also a classic), the ending boss theme to FF7, Yuna's Ballard from FFX-2, and Suteki Da Ne (the Japanese love song from FFX).

80% of my favorites mainly come from FF games.

The rest would be the Mario Bros. theme song, (just about every gamer knows that one), The Legend of Zelda overworld song (used in nearly every Zelda game in one way or another), and a whole bunch that I can't name off the top of my head at the moment.

Jeros: Hello

God: Hello. What is your name, blessed child?

Jeros: Jeros The Creator you obsolete fool!

God: How can you be the creator? I am God.

Jeros: No! You are the inferior being of my image, you breathless swine!

God: You speak nonsense my child. I am absolute, while you are merely mortal.

Jeros: Right...anyways, are you a male or female being?

God: Take a guess.

Jeros: Female being.

God: Right on!

Jeros: When will I die?

God: It could happen tomorrow

Jeros: Really? What time?

God: I cannot tell you that.

Jeros: Why not?

God: You will find out soon enough.

Jeros: Say, what do you think of Hurricane Katrina?

God: I have no opinion on that at the moment.

Jeros: But you're God. You must know everything, right?

God: Believe what you want to believe.

Jeros: What do you think on the issue of same sex marriage?

God: I am not interested in either sex.

Jeros: So, you're just an absolute being that has no virtural opinion to anything I say?

God: Jeros, I am simply a chatterbot.

If you were given three wishes, what would they be? They don't have to involve money or being an almighty god.

Ex: I wish my grandmother were still alive, getting a Hummer for Christmas, and that I could go back in time and erase Hurricane Katrina from existence.

These are just random examples and not mine, by the way.

In C&C Red Alert, the opening scene shows Albert Einstein successfully making time travel possible in the form of a pocket watch back in the 1930s-1940s era. Einstein traveled back in time to remove Hitler from history, hence giving away for Joseph Stalin's Soviet Union to march and conquer over Europe.

This is Drew's joke explaination if anyone hasn't played the game.

Ah, very true. I nearly forgot that Spidweb has very limited resources, hence the long waiting period for games to come out.

Music would be nice though, but now that I think about it, I could just dish in a CD and play my own music while playing A4.

I would of thought Calvin Coolridge and Harding were the least competent.

Of course, President Bush is probably the least competent and perhaps ignorant (maybe that's pushing it a little too far) leader for the 21st century. Least competent of all time? That's debatable.

Your "reasoning" almost sounds like what a completely apathetic person would say, except it's within the boundaries of sanity where you don't kill yourself in the process.

Well, at least it's good to see different points of view on this whole hypothetical situation.

If my history is accuracte, Katrina should become the worst hurricane disaster (well, any US disaster for that matter) of all time, even worse than that other hurricane in the early 1900s. (I think the Hurricane of 1900 or the 1904 San Francisco earthquake, whichever one was worse)

The hurricane of 1900 brought upon about 8,000 deaths I believe. Katrina is expected to reach 10,000+ in the death tolls, well once all the water gets pumped out and there's hot and smelly decompossed dead bodies laying around.

I wonder though, didn't southeast Asia experience massive typhoons not too long ago? Were those typhoons worse or is Katrina worse?

In the end, I believe that many areas of government will be playing the blame game and that in due time, they will all share some fault in this.

More than likely, A4 will probably still play like any other Avernum game, but with a new storyline, some new graphics, new spells and probably with the same gameplay that we've been accustomed to.

A good plus would be if actual in-game music was added in, but that's asking too much already.

Quite true indeed. The President is doing the best he can in these troubled times. Not only does he have this Gulf disaster to handle, but he has the nominate an Associate Justice to the Supreme Court really soon too. I hear that John Roberts is Senior Chief Justice now. Bush is currently under a watchful eye now, with this situation I mean.

When all of this is finally blown over, who's going to get the most blame? FEMA?

Who's life is valued at $1 or less? No one of course. You can't put a price on a human life. Of course, that's besides the point and going off topic.

Like Ben said, supposedly all is forgiven over time. As this is a hypothetical situation and all, what if we were to change people into inanimate objects instead? It seems less cruel that way...

Reading that starter statement reminded be of Dr. Kevorkian. (or however his name was spelled) Is it morally right to help patients die more quickly if they know that their suffering leads to a longer delay before death's door? Is it morally right to give assistant suicide, to help people commit suicide?

The obvious answer is no, but think about it...there's actually something ironically right about it too. I personally do not see the irony of it though. Perhaps I'm too ignorant in this subject matter.
