I'm assuming you're talking about "A Large Rebellion" as I got stuck at that part too. The newest version of it probably still has that bug then.

The area which you're talking about, is it when you talk to that ogre in the forge and he said like to meet him by the docks and then the error message popped up?

I really have to start answering my own question when I create topic threads.

Bad guy wise, gotta be Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7. He was the guy to hate...and poor Cloud, being twisted in his own memories with Zach and all... :D

[QUOTE]

That's two grammer typo errors you've caught on today, Aran, that I've made. Yes, you are correct. It's supposed to be "have" instead of "of. It's just that some people usually say it improperly with "should of" instead of "should have".

It's like how the word "ain't" is not even a word, but is corrected as "isn't"... :D

Forgive me for being so bash, but I thought we weren't supposed to double post around here and that those two posts could of easily been edited into one post. Food for thought.

Itsuart, you are right about Linux not being a platform. It's an OS. Thanks for correcting me. As for platforms, you should of included the other gaming systems in your poll, such as PS2, XBOX, Gamecube, etc...

I'm pretty sure they're platforms...

Who is your favorite bad guy/gal or villain in genres such as video games, movies, life, etc...

You can list more than one villain/bad guy/gal if you wish.

Edit: This may seem obvious, but a female villain is a villainess, right? Thanks to Bandwagon x3 for this correction.

Edit 2: Thanks to Aran for finding my typos of the word "villian" to change it to "villain"

By platform, there are more than PC and Mac in the gaming universe. I use both Mac and Windows. The poll should of had Linux as a platform too. (for all us dual platform users)

Edit Off Topic Post: As for my video game platform of choice, hands down it's PSP and PS2. Later on, it's going to be PS3...but at the steep price of $375... ?

This is actually old news as I originally posted a brief summary of that particular story last week in the "What's your most embarassing moment?" thread. Nonetheless, now I know the complete story to it now.

Alas, it is indeed a lesson to be learned: Never go overboard with video games. Have fun with games, but not over an untimely demise...

I have heard something like this in a NBC Dateline report a few weeks ago. School kids, usually around late elementary to mid middle school years, play this sort of "Suffucation Game", or some people know it as "Space Monkey". It's the thrill of losing conscioiusness that gives sort of an adrenline "high". Several kids that have done this have actually died doing this so-called "Suffucation" game. I have heard that it's becoing a more widespeard thing, since I keep hearing terrible stories about it on a daily basis on this.

People have the perception that the Suffucation Game is "attempted suicide", but rather, it's just another way to get the "natural high" and light-headed, eventually passing out and perhaps death in serious cases. Some kids have tried to do it themselves and have actually killed themselves doing it because they couldn't release the reach of the belt they were hanging from.

I do not know why that this game is a trend that kids can't get enough of, unless the "natural high" is really that good, in substitution of drugs.

This really should go under the "Scariest Thing" thread as I really do not see how this game is funny or embarassing.

Since I've haven't started a new topic thread in the last 2-3 days, well, here's a new one for ya.

Like the topic thread sez, what's is your most embarassing moment? (whether it was some event or something you did to make a fool of yourself, or something else...)

FYI: A Korean man who recently lost his job, played 50 hours straight of video games, since he was so depressed in losing his job, (nonstop with no food, water or bathroom breaks of any kind) and literally dropped dead afterwards because of extreme fatigue and exhaustion, which in turn caused heart failure and eventually seconds later, his own death.

Edit: The FYI is actually a true story if anyone bothers to look it up. It was in my morning newspaper and it happened to be on the front page for some odd reason...

Edit 2: The most embarassing moment I did was giving a speech in the wrong lecture room because I got to campus about an hour late and I stumbled into the wrong room by accident, as I was only half awake at the time. The whole class laughed after I finished the speech and the professor told me to do the speech now in your OWN room!

Edit 3: Since this thread is starting to go off topic, it is now open to any horrific or gruesome events that you'd like to share with the SW community. Don't forget to leave your sanity at the door while you're at it...

Edit 4: If you have other kinds of weird moments, mention those too...thinking outside "the box"...

Yeah, I forgot about that since a friend of mine has a golden Shiva statue with a lot of arms, 7 or 8 I believe. I typed up the original post when I was taking a break from Final Fantasy 8 and Shiva was the last GF I summoned in a boss battle before I paused the game....lol. Thanks for correcting me Thuryl.

Edit: Since we're on the subject on Gods and all, is Ifrit really a Fire God in some religion or is he another gender and made up? I know that the FF summon Fenrir is supposed to be some wolf that swallows Odin whole at the battle of Ragnarok in Norse mythology, but it doesn't look close to that in FF games...

Heh. On the first religion poll, I got 100% Satanism :D . I think I'm the only one that got complete Satanism in this thread.

Of course, Satanism doesn't mean that you worship Satan or anything...does it?

Now the second poll I took had different results...

Last I heard was Hilary Clinton for 2012 about two months ago. Alas, it would make sense for her to run for President in 2008, since she's a top favorite for the Democrats.

A little off topic, since it seems the thread has shifted to talking about gods now, but would the United States ever get a female president in the near future or will it never happen?

As for the god part, I think a lot of people view God as a "Him" by default, though some religions do view female gods or whatever is their preference of worship. (I remember some female goddess named Shiva, for Hindu or some other religion...I forgot.)

I think for heaven, it's probably viewed (Christian wise I believe, unless this theory of Heaven is a religious stereotype, I wouldn't know) as this eternal bliss of paradise with God as you pretty much are free of illness and burden. Some picture a world with angels above clouds or something like that. Heaven can also be defined as your "dream utopia".

I figured that, since there are some topics that reach the hundreds post-wise. Have there ever been any topics to hit the thousands?

Funny, that I haven't even mentioned the 4 people I'd invite and I created this topic in the first place...

Myself, my Mom, my Dad, and probably my grandmother (since I never knew her that well and she died when I was 2, well grandmother on my mother's side)

My parents and I don't tend to eat dinner that often. They work the whole day, so it's hard to even say hello here and there.

Edit: Minor typos

I have to agree with Jumpin' Salmon on this. The one thing I liked about Peter was that he reported more than one viewpoint on a story and wasn't bias towards one side. 9/11 is probably a good example for this. He covered 25 hours straight, on television, of the whole incident, more than any other reporter, and got interviews with different people and their issue from of terrorism, from the American people themselves, to foreigners, to even Arab Americans and how their lives would be changed forever.

Peter was a good family man, and even was a goof ball at times. He took everyone's opinions seriously, even children and their views of the world. My deepest condolences go out to the Jennings' family. A great man, a great journalist, forever remembered.

Edit: Minor typos

How could you not have heard of Peter Jennings? He's only one of the best journalists that revolutionized the field of broadcasting journalism. His father was one of the original pioneers for CBN, or Canadian Broadcasting News.

Though his death was quite sudden at his apartment last night, it was mainly caused by lung cancer. He smoked a lot during his younger years and perhaps that was his health downfall.

There's an old saying in the news, "People give you what they want you to see in the news. It simply is a medium to mask the facts from the lies."

Edit Post 1: On second thought, I forgot that many of you come from foreign lands apart from America, so it would make sense to those that "do not care" or have simply never heard of Peter Jennings. (Hence the news channel, ABC - American Broadcasting Channel)

Edit Post 2: Is ABC News broadcasted around the world? Just curious.

Speaking of posts, has anyone ever reached 10,000+ posts before? I'm gussing that Alorael is trying to become the first to do it, since he has close to 9,400 posts at the moment.

Edit Post 1: Ah, I just noticed that I've gotten my 100th post today. Insignificant, but a baby step towards 1,000. At this rate, it'll take me a year or two, since the fall college term is coming soon.

Edit Post 2: Hmm, interesting new title, "Citizen of Exile". No "Citizen of Avernum"?

I think the scenairo itself has some bugs here and there. I haven't seen an updated version of it, as of late, but the person who made it said that he fixed the bugs, but the updated version isn't on the SW website for some reason. If you really want to leave the scenairo, just use the Character Editor and pull yourself out of it. As for leaving within, I think you leave from one of the docks in the starting town, not too sure though.

Some of the topics I start up are usually based off of stuff I think it's interesting that I read from the newspaper or see on TV (hence why I started up the "Human Cloning" thread). I just find it surprising that a lot of my starter topics get around 20-50 posts.
