Bad that you lost your games, but isn't it nice to see how smoothly everything is running now? I don't want to be a pest, but remember, always deinstall, never just delete what you don't need anymore. ;) -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

ADoS, try this site: www.cprogramming.com You'll find a section about tools in the middle of the first page with information on what tools you need, why you need them, what you need them for together with recommendations of good freeware and introductions into said freeware. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

ADoS: I do not recall the name of the guy who invented C++, but I do remember that he has links to quite a few compilers on his website. David, Shannon: The apple website has a programmer's section which offers downloads for C++ applications for free. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

More messy than wonderful, as numbers 5007, 5083, 853, 902 and 905 are nonexistant files. Sorry about that. So here: 1010; 1512; 1516; 1543; 1545; 1560; 1587; 1590; 1592; 1594; 1595; 1605; 1801; 1803; 1805; 1806; 1807; 1808; 1809; 1814; 1815; 1823; 5076; 760; 763; 764; 766; 768; 770; 771; 772 -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

I checked, I knew I'd made a mistake somewhere. I have them in my folder. But you lost quite a few. You had no virus or trojan? If you want, I'll upload your missing files, so you can get them back. Though if it was my comp, I'd probably check it thoroughly. A bit too many for just a small glitch. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

With Win 2k right-click on the bottom taskboard, just left of where you see the time. A menue pops up and you'll find the Taskmanager there. Click on it. You'll see the programs and the processes that are currently running. As an afterthought: if you haven't been to a porn site, have you gone to a crack site? They sometimes give you little gifts as well. Better not. Nethergate is very special, almost a small piece of art. If it sells or not is really not that important. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

First thing I'd try would probably be overinstalling Windows. (don't know, if you use that expression: not deinstall anything, but overinstall in the hope that that will fix the problem of corrupted or missing files) -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

quote:This caught my eye. If Christ's message was one of understanding, love and sharing, then it was a message about qualities that you can strive to develop within yourself. Their acquisition cannot be ordered. If I order you to love your neighbour, you can of course come up with faked compliance. But that removes you even farther from honestly sharing with him than your natural impulses might have done. A quality is an inner potential. It can be expressed, but order and obedience have nothing to do with it. quote:Not necessarily, I think. If we discuss the time for harvesting apples, I agree they should not be harvested in spring. But if you believe in freedom and I believe in honesty, where's the problem? Religious systems have come up with all kinds of junk that their originators would probably never want to have anything to do with. If that is what you disagree with, I'm with you. If you wish to believe that matter and fact are all that is, alright. There might be more that you cannot see but I see. But if I saw more and you didn't, I couldn't show you. So we'd be at a standstill. Neither could prove his/her point to the other. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Well. I saw a friend die of a brain tumor. Morphine didn't help any more. I have no words to express the agony I witnessed before I found a doctor who was willing to inject an overdose. It was the least I could do. I loved that person, but would ask the same even for my worst enemy, having seen what I saw. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

With a bit of luck you will not need a complete reformating. Overinstalling Windows might do the trick and get the missing files back. As a suggestion: next time when you feel unsure what to do with a program you want to be rid of, ask for help on the 'CoA' board before you delete it. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Zephyr, programs come with their own files, but they also share files with each other. When you delete instead of deinstall, you delete shared files as well, files that are needed and used by other applications. And that is probably why you meet problems now. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

This is enough. Everyone who's been here for a while knows that JF has a serious problem with spelling that gets worse when he feels excited or under pressure. From the menue screens it is 11) and 13) I like most. As a character I like 19). I find none objectionable, though Alorael may have a point. No.20/21 are a bit dull for a character, but on the whole I think them all ok. The best character you have is Mystery. Now if the fog that surrounds her could be drawn more into the lower part of the figure she would be less provocative. Do you think the author would permit that?
