The bullets seemed to have loosened the lock. Not much favouring a breakfast of baked beans, ef tried her luck with the storage door and realized that it would open. Noone else seemed to notice her. That was good. She'd kept her suspicions to herself and didn't want to alarm whoever.. Opening her perception she searched the room beyond and spotted the culprit soon enough, slid through the door and gripped her firmly. Yells were heard and a struggle, but this wasn't ef's first encounter with an obstinate kid. Woman and child appeared in the dining hall after a while, where ef called for Logalot. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

ef eyed her bathroom curiously, amusement replacing her initial anger. Then typed a question on her display: "Who brought their kids along with them?" 'Wait til I get you, little brat.' She chuckled. 'Breakfast time. Let's see what the ship is up to.' And she went to seek the dining hall. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

She had been about to enter the inn to treat someone's leg when she heard the cry. She stood very still, listening. Then, acknowledging truth in a plea that she could neither argue nor turn away from, she left the town, hastening herself to reach the girl in time. She lowered the strength of the ward, just so it would hold but not hurt and sat down beside it. "Stop hissing, girl, spare your strength, you don't need that. I don't trust you from here to there, but I won't hurt you either, so relax. I can't try to heal you, I'd only add to your pain, I won't do that. You and I need to talk. I saw you fight one of your kind who was attacking us. It is not you who's after us right now, but you're involved. What's going on? I want an honest answer." Looking up defiantly, Arianne met with a friendly though dispassionate glance, eyes that were observing and weighing her. ef smiled. "If I find you true, I may help you in my own way. The choice is yours." -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

If I understand you right, Zabel, you want the full version of Geneforge. You have to register and buy the game to get the full version. You do that on this site: Spiderweb [ Wednesday, September 03, 2003 12:45: Message edited by: ef ] -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"Maestro, come over here for a second. You can't fight with a broken arm, I won't let you." ef chanted a healing spell. "That's better now. By the way, you'll find some hasting potions in my shop should you need them. Off you go." The old lady turned, squeezing through the fighters' lines until she found the archmage. "There you are. Yes, I know. So here are three wands for you and a couple of scrolls. I make more. How is it going? Rathlan's a genius, don't you think so? Clever traps and very efficient. Well, look into my basket, there's some refreshment in it. Have a bite and a minute's rest, I'll take your place in the meantime." Eyeing the zombies curiously and slightly shaking her head she started a series of Dispel Undead spells. "Can you tell me why undead should want a city? Doesn't make sense to me. A necromancer now, wouldn't he feel safer in a tower? What are they after?" -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

The little old woman had finished her drink and left the inn, carefully avoiding collision with the occasional undead. She seemed to look for someone and having spotted him, went over to greet Archmage Alex. "Morning, Archmage. It's been a while. Shall we work together? You hasten me, I bless you, and we throw them back. Maestro is off to the cemetery, I'll listen in on him. Let's do our job here." Her face showing her satisfaction, she started repelling the undead who, caught between healer and mage, wavered and fell. She chuckled. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"Oh my, oh my, oh my. Can't cross the streets safely today. How impertinent these zombies are." ef muttered when she entered the inn. She ordered her favourite coffee and went to join Maestro, nodding to him in greeting. "You've been busy already, I saw you. And I thought I might contribute something in my own way." Opening the basket she carried along with her, she showed him a fine selection of flasks and bottles. "Healing, Blessing, Strength, Energy Potion for the mages and priests. Invulnerability, only a few of them, mind. Some scrolls. I can make more, but this may come in handy right now." -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

OOC: Hi, Lone Flame. It has not really started yet. Participants have gathered in the inn and spent the night there. Maestro (Wise Man) woke up early, saw zombies tumbling in the streets, went out and killed them. He is now having breakfast at the inn. The others are about to wake up. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Well, should you be seriously worried, consider informing Drakey that you do not agree with the way this board is led. Though really.. [ Tuesday, August 26, 2003 11:27: Message edited by: ef ] -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

We probably all live in different climatic zones. Fall with us here starts Sep/23, Winter starts two days before Christmas (officially, though the deep frost waits til January most of the time). If you open the source code and read the style sheet, you'll see how it was made: by replacing the background images. Something else, I saw your graphs at The Louvre, the Dark Ground and Monolith ones. Can you do more in that line? To create a Mordor-like atmosphere? Maybe something with fire as well? -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

I have heard of a new kind of magnets. They are being advertized somewhere in the internet. Tiny things and not expensive at all, but strong enough to draw an anvil. They even hold dollar-notes, because of the traces of iron in the ink used for printing them. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Order Mage, this will probably repeat itself over and over again as long as you imagine that being pleasing and welcome can only be achieved by being obedient and follow other people's wishes. That will most certainly bring up an irresistable urge to be as outrageous as possible sooner or later. It would in me. Decide for yourself what you want to be and act in a way that you can agree with. It's far more satisfying in the long run, believe me. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |
