deplorable ~ "regrettable" is what comes to my mind. I would be proud to be someone else? If someone's life was very unhappy, I might feel grateful that I do not have to carry that burden, but proud? In my opinion it's the one who carries the burden who deserves respect. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Brenitt, if I were you, I'd visit the other two boards and then think of some interesting topic that they do not cover for my forum. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Since quite a few advertisement agencies and corporations over here have ceased to use Macs in their graphic departments the difference in the quality of graphic and photo work cannot be pronounced any more. But then, Macs have never been much in use outside of those dapartments anyway. Over here, that is. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Though it may be a bit confusing at first, it also conveys a feeling of identity through all the changes, Felwynne. Or should I call you Zipper Teapot, Flavius? Refering to Drakey's last post: seems a good solution to me. No, it would not have been fun to watch. I have lost control only once on this board and thought myself very polite considering my rage. I'll always love Alec for coming to my rescue, when everybody else just thought me a bomb. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Yes, and if I had known how to make everyone shut up and wait, I would have had it out with him in my way. Though that might have crashed the board. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Reading the posts I get the impression that the original suggestion was not to reorganize the board. Refering to the current RP situation, the poster wanted to install someone as game leader who was not involved in the game itself, but watched over it. Not a bad idea, and close to what Alex asked Imban to do and he agreed to. Though without the authority to remove people who are not manageable the whole thing is meaningless. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

TGM, I'm not sure. Though if your computer is at the minimum end of required settings, you might try transfering everything you do not need immediately to tapes or CD-Roms. Create as much saving space as you are able to. What are your computer settings? Would updating drivers or DirectX help? -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Zeviz, as you seem to be in contact with Lady J: she is housing forums, like for instance Polaris. Could she at least give people the password to up/download things on their own or have a chance to transfer their sites to someplace else? It does not seem quite correct to me to leave them be stuck, as is the case now. Sorry, I would have posted in the existing thread, but it was already closed. The only alternative for Polaris would be to accept my offer to let someone hack the site to find out about the password. Not so nice, but what on earth shall they do, if they cannot reach her? I feel torn. As a private person I would like to legalize at least some of the drugs that are illegal now. As a therapist who has had to treat long term damage due to drug abuse (for instance epilepsy as a result of crack abuse) I want an age limit. If a twentyfive-year-old insists on overdosaging cocaine, so be it. If a fifteen-year-old does the same, I want to be permitted to say no. The passionate longing of addiction is far more a psychic craving than a physical one. I don't think that we would get rid of it by banning addictive substances. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Rapid posting in RPs is something I'm occasionally very guilty of doing. Due to the fact that your day is my night and I don't need more than three to four hours of sleep. I stop that. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Kids are kids. I do not hold that against them. It's only when they are permitted to violate existing rules without having to fear consequences that things get out of hand. I don't think SM would have become really bad, if Zephyr had not been permitted to terrorize the RPs when SM reentered the board. Alec, Imban, TM, Felwynne and others tried to stop him in a concentrated action, but without the administrator's authority to back them, what could they do. I'm sorry, Drakey, Shaper Master is able to learn if he wants to, but the only language Zephyr understands is force. Not a judging or condemning force, but one that draws a line that he cannot trespass. You did that for Ghost, though he was never so bad as Zephyr has become. We tried to help. Ragnarok has taught Zephyr for weeks via PM. Do you see any positive results? -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |
