The captive cryodrayk down in the Sealed Catacombs says that the Titan is one of Monarch's creations. The part you're thinking of is where she mentions that he lured it down there so he could trap it when he realised it was too powerful. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Regarding #1: the spore boxes don't turn off all the pylons, just enough to clear paths throughout the area -- and that's only if you use all of them, including the one in the southeast that you need to enter from Rocky Point to disarm the mines around. It's possible you missed a spore box somewhere. [ Sunday, March 11, 2007 19:03: Message edited by: Cryptozoology ] -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! I actually found the Radiant Soulblade to be pretty overrated too. It's not a broadsword, so its damage output sucks. I stuck with the Oozing Blade instead. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

quote:Further to this: ignoring magic actually makes the Shock Trooper better. A few points in Healing Craft isn't a bad idea (and is just as cheap as it would be for a lifecrafter), but you really can ignore Blessing Magic entirely and make up for the deficit with pods and spores. You do have to be reasonably frugal with them, though, and you miss out on Spine Shield and Elemental Shield. My Shock Trooper "challenge" was actually easier than my first attempt at a Lifecrafter, but I do think it would have been harder than an optimised Lifecrafter build. Still fun, though. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Having three Servile Technicians from the rebel camp on your side means you only need 5 mechanics to disable enough mines to clear a path. I think you don't even need that much if you approach from the south (which means entering from Southern Grosch). -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! I'm pretty sure the Geneforge world as a whole doesn't have an official name, so you may as well call it Nairamre. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Besides, the glass cannon is still alive and well in the form of the Lifecrafter, although now it's more of a glass gatling gun. Synergy's had pretty good luck with a solo glass-cannon Infiltrator in G4, too. There's a servile named Khur in Illya Safehouse who will join you if you've received the quest to kill Moseh and have at least a moderate pro-rebel reputation. He's honestly not that great; significantly weaker than a levelled-up cryoa or vlish. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Not sure I like the "1 weapon proficiency of player's choice" bit. You'll probably want to restrict it to 1 martial weapon, as you probably don't really want Shapers getting free exotic weapon proficiencies. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Are you sure you killed the right demon? There are several down there. The one you want is near the centre; he's kinda hard to see because he blends in with the background, and you can talk to him instead of attacking immediately. quote:Well, it's the mashing that's the complicated part, now isn't it? In a typical game my home very quickly filled with gear to swap in and out so I could optimise my AC and damage while still keeping at least the minimal necessary set of resistances. (Also, on the subject of rings, I think there are some Angband variants such as ToME which let you wear more than the usual number of rings when polymorphed into a different form, at the price of not having all of your normal equipment slots.) -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! I think the amount of clever inventory management that goes on in a game like, say, Angband is complex enough without adding 8 more equipment slots. :P (Might and Magic III actually did let you wear up to 10 rings, but your inventory space was so small that with a full complement of equipment you'd be left with no space in which to actually carry stuff.) -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Wait, are you playing as Celts or Romans? Only the Romans can get through that door -- the Celts can find two stones in the game, but can never get through. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |
