As topic revivals go, that one wasn't so bad; it was at least vaguely related to the original topic, and contained a new question.

Also, stop trying to be a freaking mod. You suck at it, okay?

You're still carting a fyora around? Good Lord, why?

This fight is one of the hardest in the game. Taking on multiple Wingbolts is no picnic at the best of times. Spray and swarm crystals can help to take out the less magic-resistant creations. Consider using madness or torrent gems if you have them. Once the wingbolts come, hide around corners and try to draw them into doorways so you don't have to take on all of them at once.

The best way to survive damage zones is to immediately enter combat mode and stay there, so that you only take damage every round instead of every second. You can always come back after you've gained a few levels; there's no rush to reach the Geneforge, and it's a bit early for you to be going there now.

Well, you wouldn't want a wet yak as a creation. All that fur just gets soggy and horrible.

You won't be able to finish the quest properly now. I think the quest gets crossed off your list when you kill her, if you want to do that. (She apparently drops the same reward as you'd get for finishing the quest if you haven't already done the quest, so all you've really missed out on is some experience.)

Neither side is completely annihilated in any ending, so it's plausible that any of them could be used as a springboard into GF5.

This still happens occasionally, but not always. I'm not sure why.

If you kill it after it stops attacking you, the bug isn't triggered. Presumably the OP managed to kill it before it did so.

Small Fry should be ignored on any topic of conversation. There are no traps or machines that require 20 tool use. There are doors that require up to 40 tool use (the hardest one that doesn't have a key available somewhere is 35), and you're certainly not going to get Tool Use to 35. Sticking 16 Tool Use on a mage and making him your unlock-monkey is the most sensible course of action.

The two main changes:

i. When you try to attack with low skill points, your turn doesn't end. You attack.

ii. It is now much easier to use items (like potions and scrolls) and attack in the same turn.

- Jeff Vogel

Whoops! In my pre-coffee morning daze I had read "action point" as "skill point". Having now been set straight, my verdict on this change is: groovy.

EDIT: And having read the rest of the thread I see it did say "skill point" at the time I read it! You're a tricky one, Jeff! :P

See, whenever the game doesn't specify a specific creation to fill these roles, I just assume it's some tiny creation the PC never learns to make. Why use a wingbolt, which is easy to spot and hard to make, when you could make something smaller, like a bird or even a mini-wingbolt.

Except in this case, the game does specify a creation. I'm pretty sure that when you meet Greta in Aziraph Rebel Camp, she mentions that she was spotted and attacked by a Wingbolt patrol flying overhead.

He was counting on his bluff working. It worked for North Korea, after all.

Besides, he wasn't so much refusing them access as giving them access while at the same time blustering about his military power, leading to the impression that he had to be hiding something no matter how many searches failed to turn anything up.

People keep saying that Artilas are better than Fyoras, but I've always found that Artilas miss more often, which makes a pretty big difference early on.

Besides, there are still Cryoas, which can be made ridiculously early on in G4; a cryoa that's been kept alive from the start of the game is pretty much on par with a vlish. (Of course, cryoas aren't really a compelling reason to invest in Fire Shaping, precisely because you get them before you get much of an opportunity to invest in it. Then again, you only ever need 4 points plus item bonuses anyway.)
