Eh, since I don't really know enough about the subject to discuss it in detail, I should probably bow out of this discussion before I cross the line from being provocative to actually trolling. :P

Doesn't he already do this? BoA, at least, has icon adjustment settings.

This makes me a little bit sad, since I thought Nethergate's engine was a particularly good fit to its setting and plot, but I'll wait and see how it turns out.

I think the theoretical maximum level is 60 or so, but you're probably not going to get much higher than 45 in normal gameplay.

The theoretical maximum for all stats is 30, but again, you're not going to actually get that high.

But what I imagine is that, from the steady random changes, people might be a bit more biased towards picking up useful ones. That's artificial selection, and while it may be survival or exinction for words and pronunciations, it has nothing much to do with survival of speakers, either individually or collectively.
So languages change either because words and pronunciations die out, in which case the original usages were unstable and trying to revive them will be futile since they'll only change back again, or because speakers die out, in which case trying to bring back the language they spoke is an even worse idea.

I was taught in school that "alright" was the correct form and "all right" was wrong. So at least in Commonwealth English, "alright" has wide acceptance.

This is remarkably ignorant of you to say. There is no reason at all to believe that sound change and grammatical shift in general always improve a language's flexibility and ability to express new concepts.
Darwinism. The very fact that language changes persisted over time shows that people who changed their language were more likely to pass on their linguistic habits to others than people who stayed closer to the original language. This strongly suggests that linguistic conservatism was actively detrimental to survival, either on an individual or a cultural level.

(Joke. I wasn't suggesting writing MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Relax.)

I believe the correct notation for 100,000 is C with a bar on top, but that's a little hard to type.

EDIT: Apparently I'm mistaken! The correct notation is an I with a bar on top and vertical lines on both sides.

The cap only applies to each stat individually, not in combination. You won't hit the caps, because raising even one stat to 30 would require about as many skill points as you're likely to earn in a whole game, and you're not going to spend all your skill points on just one stat.

You need to combine the perfected cloak with purified essence and a pure crystal shard to make the Cloak of the Shadows, which is in fact a very good cloak.

A decent text editor can count line numbers for you.

Note that when BoA counts line numbers it only counts the actual number of line breaks, so you have to turn off line wrapping in your text editor before counting.
