quote:Judge not, lest you be judged. Everyone chooses a side (or no side) for different reasons. For me, cowardice is not among them. I just don't like fighting outside of computer games, that's all. Be thankful you called me a coward in the virtual realm, for if it had been to my face, I'd eat you alive. quote:How little you know me. I can hide in plain sight, and have been known to move quickly and silently, despite the fact that I appear slow and awkward to most people. You may have passed me on the street, and would never be the wiser for it. Plus, "The Mystic" is an old nickname of mine, and not without reason. I'm mildly clairvoyant, and the trait runs in the family. Therefore, there's a good chance I'd be long gone before I'd be found. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. I got the new pack, and congrats to the winners. By comparison, I'm surprised some of my levels made it into the pack at all. quote:If I remember correctly, it's included as part of the 2002 pack. Also, by the end of 2007, I plan to submit enough levels to make a small pack of my own. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. I don't really care for war, whether real of fictional. In the shaper/rebel war, I'd prefer to be an unaligned shaper, far from the fighting as possible. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. In E1, I just call my characters A, B, C, D, E, and F. Not very imaginative, I know, but I'm not that big on giving out cool names. For E2, E3, and BoE, I just use the default names, even if I change a PC's race, traits, etc. It makes them easier for me to keep track of. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. It isn't a matter of whether I like them or not. I just use their beliefs to get whatever good spells/items they happen to have. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. I'm no newbie, I already know all that (and more). I just find the game's religions a convenient way to get some spells. In other words, I merely exploit them to get some good stuff. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. Here's what I like to do, as far as religion goes in the game (possible spoilers): First, I join the Anama after defeating both the slimes and roaches. Then, once I get as much as I can from them (especailly their spell knowledge), I quit. Then I join the Church of Divine Lucre to get everything they have to offer. Once all this is done, I finish off by buying fake Anama rings and robbing their temple. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. Someone could always write another GF game, where the Shapers return to Sucia Island to thoroughly explore it for whatever reason (hint, hint). Then, we'll all discover for certain what happened to Heustess. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. In G1, I'm a major canister junky; for the most part, you have to be in order to survive. In G2 & G3, I only do as much as will go unnoticed by other Shapers (which, I admit, isn't much). -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. I forgot all about the lab, but then again, I probably don't do as much exploring as I should (I know, shame on me). With the major quests, I normally just get in, get on with it, get it over with, and get out. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. I don't use either creature unless I really, really, really have to. As I've posted on other threads, I prefer to work alone. When I do create a creature, I tend to favor Glaahks and (when I can make--and afford--them) Ur-Glaahks. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. Sounds good to me if, as you pointed out, Radiant agrees to it. However, I think it would be easier to ask him in the other forum, I seriously doubt that he checks things here anymore. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. My guess is that there's only so many graphics that can be put with a game. Either that, or maybe mages and shapers are also part of some sort of religious cult or something. I know it should. I've even altered the .ini files to tell the computer where I put everything in the zip file for the game, and still nothing. The only other thing I can think of would be running the install program, which I don't have. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. He's at the north end of one of the swamps on the western shoreline. I can't get more specific than that, because I haven't played E2 in a few years. However, I do remember this much: Try to go in through the back way, or he'll be gone by the time you get to him. And when you finally meet him, tell him that that lady sent you, and when he asks you if you're there to kill him, respond with, "If necessary", otherwise he'll commit suicide. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. quote:I'm assuming you're responding to my statement about not knowing or caring about the length of a Shaper's lifespan; it's true, I don't. It seems to me that you've given this way more thought than I have. I, on the other hand, have long since given up trying to understand the logic of a game, and decided to accept it for what it truly is--a game. Twenty-odd years of PC and console gaming can do that. However, someone mentioned that in one ending for (I think) G2, it says, "you live for a very long time," which to me automatically implies several centuries. I can't confirm that with my copy of the game, since mine's not registered. quote:My best guess is that it's in reply to this topic. EDIT: Added quote by, and response to, Kelandon. It doesn't say specifically. Here's the error message I keep getting: quote:Normally, I can get the computer to all but get up and dance for me (I've even gotten games for Windows 3.1 to run on under Windows XP), but this has me stumped. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. As far as I can tell, there are only 2 shapers on Sucia Island: you and Goettsch. I've covered just about every corner of the island, so I'm fairly certain of this. And I neither know nor care how long a shaper's lifespan is. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. 1. There are a few places where you can augment (I forget at the moment), but it's just too expensive for my taste. If you do decide to augment, make sure the item gains something useful. 3. There's a also random item shop in Lorelei, and I think it's the cheapest. 4. I prefer the Lifesaver Amulet until my Luck skill is high. 5. I really don't use archery in E3, so I can't give you advice here. For me, all missile weapons are junk items, and get sold. 6. I use Nimble Gloves or Micah's Gloves for just about anyone. 7. That's what I do, especially since all my PCs are trained as both priests and mages. Mithral Chain Mail is pretty much my favorite armor. If I wear something encumbering, I lose not just some APs per turn in combat, but also the ability to cast mage spells. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. I rarely, if ever, use the Geneforge these days; I normally can get by just fine without it. Destroying the Geneforge is a given when I play, too.
