SubTerra news!

2005-2006 Level pack

First place: Caterina Castellani (Orange Bazooka)
A long-time contender, Caterina usually focuses on linear levels, but this one is more complex than that. The puzzle requires clever manipulation of laser beams to perform several different tasks.

Second place: Henri Kareinen (Round and Round)
A difficult choice out of several very good puzzles by Henri, this one is very innovative with the repeated maneuvering of simple objects.

Third place: Stuart Rynn (Separate Ways)
Good two-character levels are rare, and this is one. Controlling two characters forces the player to think outside the box, and the cloner is a nice touch for a hazard.

Honorary mentions
*Joshua Taylor (Wonderland)
*Darkmatt (Towers Of Eizan Berthot)
*Teh Kwakstur (Firewall)

Radiant, could you also upload the 2001 levelpack. (The official version of SubTerra is missing it.)

Which of the winners is the Stew Boy?

I got the new pack, and congrats to the winners. By comparison, I'm surprised some of my levels made it into the pack at all.

If I remember correctly, it's included as part of the 2002 pack.

Also, by the end of 2007, I plan to submit enough levels to make a small pack of my own.

Indeed, the 2001 pack was small enough that the 2002 pack was simply appended to it. The levelpak zip should contain all level packs up to now. If people really want more levels (apart from making them yourself :) ) there's always these, but those aren't guaranteed to be possible.

By the way Stew Boy = Stuart Rynn.

Thanks for information.

Congratulations to Stew Boy and Caterina (if she still reads these boards)! :)

Got them. If they're not possible, I'll see what I can do to fix them, like I've been doing with the "Push-It" levelset (which I'm still working on), and post them on the other board.

That's the third time in a row I've been runner up. Maybe if I submit over 100 levels this year Radiant will just have to let me win...

Well, Stew Boy, if nothing else, you'd definitely win in the "most submitted levels" category. :D But all kidding aside, you do make good levels.

I, on the other hand, just make levels for the sake of doing so, not to win anything.

I may send in a few levels. No promises, though.

I tried to think of something witty to put here.

Needless to say, I failed.

I'll probably do more levels this year if I can find time. However, I'm working on a BoE scenario that's not huge, but is taking lots of work to make because the plot is branched out in five different ways, and other choices affect the solutions, and.... yeah, you get the idea. I don't anticipate on having it released until late 2007.

Nioca - that's great. New level designers are always good news. Look forward to seeing them. :)

I say go for it! There's always room for one more level designer.

I do believe that's a very odd mispost.

—Alorael, who didn't know SubTerra had vlishes. Are they an easter egg?

Not to my knowledge, no. As far as I know, they only exist in the Geneforge series. Cryptozoology must've accidentally posted here instead of on one of the GF boards.

Really? Wow! I always thought it was pink with orange polka dots and yellow stripes. Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to say that I've also had my share of misposts, so it's not that big a deal.

Additionally, I'm preparing to submit some more levels on the other SubTerra board.
