That's why I stopped buying video games when the Nintendo 64 went obsolete, and switched back to Spiderweb games. Any one of Spiderweb's games has more replay value than any 100 Nintendo games combined. I still occasionally play a couple Nintendo games if I get bored enough, though, but mainly in an emulator for the original 8-bit (remember that one?).

Actually, I found it while looking through the credits to find the websites that the pictures came from. I guess it pays to actually read all the text in the game.

That's easy.

Go into the editor and press ctrl-F5. You'll be shown a bunch of special tiles you can use in your level. One of these is a blue tile with "background" written on it; that's the one you want.

What do you look for in a scenario? in Blades of Avernum

I like scenarios with good dialogue, good plot, good graphics, and lots of puzzles with variuos difficulties. Combat is best used to complete a mission, advance the story, or for getting your PCs to a higher level.

I'm no novice to the game, but I'm almost a complete newbie to the community. The only thing I can say for certain is to make sure your levels work. In other words, if you click "replay" in the editor, the solution should play out. I also noticed that people who post multiple levels at once usually put them in a zip file.

Thanks, I'll post them there shortly. All 6 of my completed levels will be in a zip file.

There was a 2005 contest? Shows how far I am behind the times. I still hope there's a contest this year, though, because I plan to (hopefully) submit about a dozen levels--minimum--no matter how good, bad, or ugly they are. If I knew how to post levels, I'd gladly show you some of the ones I've completed so far.

And BainIhrno, if you want some motivation to make new levels, I think I have some: This may be a little off topic, but when I started learning how to use the editor, I had actually planned to make an entire level set (probably won't happen, unfortunately); I even made myself an "Intro" level.

I first learned of SubTerra in late 2002, and I missed the level design contests for 2003 (I didn't know how to work the editor yet) and 2004 (I didn't know how to submit a level). As far as I know there wasn't a contest for 2005.

Will there be a level design contest for 2006 or (looking into the distant future) 2007?

Music question in SubTerra

Had I known how easy it was to register, I would've done it years ago (I just registered today, in fact).

Anyway, I actually did some research of my own a while back to find the music. The websites are listed right in the credits under "Additional Music." I didn't find them all, but here's the sites listed:

http://www.yukopiano.com
http://www.recmusic.org

Just go to the sites and search for the songs. It's just that easy. I didn't find the "4 unnamed songs," though; you're kind of on you're own for those, unless you get a reply from Radiant.
