NOTE: this would have gotten posted a LOT earlier, but my connection went out for a while. quote:No, but I didn't just pull this out of thin air. Unless something is desperately wrong with my reading/writing skills that is invisible to me, a part of the top quote reads: "This is simply what I've seen from observing the boards." I'll show you where I came up with this claim. quote:Pick any of the meta-post or otherwise less-than-genius topics out there. For starters, look at Soda, Things to improve..., Episode 3 Continued, and Spiderweb Monthly Stats. What do you see? A lot of posts by a wide variety of posters. Now, take a look at the more intelligent selection: Egg-laying, Saddam's Execution, American - Canadian Relationships, etc. Note that they have far shorter lifespans and have fewer regular participants. Sure, there's the occasional interjection by another member, but for the most part, it's just a small handful of members debating. Compare that to the larger numbers in the meta-post selection, and you can see where I drew those conclusions. EDIT: Tags. quote:There is only one thing I said about most people that applies to me, and that's this: quote:Please note that I said 'probably'. I don't know that for a fact, and it would likely be very difficult to know unless that came to pass. So I'm fully ready to admit that I might be wrong there. I don't think I am, but I still am ready to admit otherwise. The other one is the same way: quote:Again, probably. This is simply what I've seen from observing the boards. So again, I may be wrong. In fact, there's a good chance I'm wrong on this one. Take that as you will. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Needless to say, I failed. I can never drink the lite or diet sodas. If I do, I'll have an incredible migraine within half an hour. Oh, and macdude... I sincerely hope you don't run out of caffeine any time soon. I don't know exactly what to do, but to start, got to Dillame and talk to the innkeeper about shaping. Tell her that you think that shaping as a whole should be eradicated. She will then point you to Drewy. Talk to him, and again tell him that shaping should be eradicated. He will tell you to smash the canister in the side room. Smash the canister in the side room, and then talk to him again. That's all I know, as I used that canister instead of smashing it. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! Perhaps I'm wrong, and if so, feel free to correct me, but I thought the purpose of the General forum was the discussion of almost any topic you could think of within the CoC, and for fans of Spiderweb to congregate and talk with each other, and get each others opinions on certain topics of conversation. If so, I'd say the General forum is doing it's job as well as could be hoped. There isn't a rule stating that topics must be philosophical/scientific/etc. Frankly, if there was, I wouldn't post very often in the General Forum, and several others probably wouldn't either. This forum is about games, not about subjects that could only be understood by people with off-the-charts IQ. Besides, many people probably come here after a stressful job or such, and probably wouldn't be interested in discussing such matters anyway. EDIT: Dropped a word. I frequently drink soda when it's available. Usually about a 20 oz. bottle per day, if possible. However, I tend to avoid the higher caffeine sodas, such as Mountain Dew. If Cherry Cola is bad for you, than Mountain Dew most certainly is a bio-hazard waiting to happen. All that caffeine... -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. It's an enchantment. When added to a weapon, it makes the weapon curse what it hits. I'm not sure what it's affect on armor is, though. Like any other enchantment, simply bind it to the item you want be combining them on the Enchanted Anvil. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! 1) Some objects just aren't meant to be unlocked except by doing a quest. Other higher difficulty doors (such as the 22 you mentioned) usually require a mage casting Unlock Doors. Note that the spell is more effective if the mage is the one with the Tool Use. Also, it's physically impossible to get full, total protection. Even Invulnerability doesn't make you impervious to attack. 2) First Aid works by equating the total amount inside your party. Thus, spreading it around is generally better for two reasons. First, it's cheaper on skill points. Secondly, if a character dies, his skill in First Aid is not counted. So it's best to keep fairly even amounts of First Aid throughout the party. 3) Yes, but I don't know exactly where. I think there might be one in Formello. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! Please rate these scenarios at the CSR after playing them! I have no qualms admitting that I am an avid fan of cheat codes. I was punching in codes when I was 4, and to this day occasionally use cheat codes to add a little, just to spice up the game. I also enjoy using the editors, but they see seldom use nowadays. Not powerful enough, and I like to play legitimately for challenge. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Needless to say, I failed. 'Disturbing' is probably a bit more accurate. But anyway, I sort of see what Muffin is doing. In fact, I did almost exactly what he is doing, though maybe not quite as extreme (one locked topic to date, and it wasn't my fault). Basically, as a complete newbie, some feel the need to post many topics to feel like they have some sort of influence on the community. You get over it after a while, thankfully. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Needless to say, I failed. Posts: 2686 | Registered: Friday, September 8 2006 07:00 |

Considering that the first thing they ask you to do is destroy something (a canister, which I happily used instead), I'd say no. In fact, I think I smell a little bit of a Drakon conspiracy here. After all, what better way to turn the odds in your favor than to destroy all shaping, then pull a little bit of hidden shaping knowledge out from behind your back and use it to gain power over all lands, known and unknown. Pretty convenient, no? -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! Please rate these scenarios at the CSR after playing them! It's showing up free and clear on mine. Also, the deleted members are Alorael, Imban, Nikki, and Rakshasi. The dead members are Delicious Vlish, Kelandon, Tullegolar, Enraged Slith, Lazarus, Mysterious Man, Jewels, and Dintiradan. Hope that helps. EDIT: Just checked the story itself. Unless Dintiradan died off-screen, he is still alive and well. [ Tuesday, February 20, 2007 17:05: Message edited by: Nioca ] -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Actually, it wasn't being close to Ed in the number votes that was disheartening, it was having the exact same number of votes that I found depressing (at the time, 2 each). Fortunately, I now have 7 votes. Unfortunately, that means that there are 7 poor individuals out there who somehow crashed their implants. (Not sure whether :( or :P wold be more appropriate at this point. ) Thanks anyway, Sarasaphilia. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. I want arrows back. The ability to mix-and-match different arrows and bows was nice. You could really do it sort of like the thorn batons in Geneforge. Heck, you could even include occasionally reloading your quiver. Also, how about superweapons for fighters, ones that make up the deficit between melee and missile/spell users. You could have them so that they didn't do much physical damage, but did a plethora of damage in fire/ice/acid/poison/etc. Or maybe have some sort innate ability built-into them that takes affect every swing (radiates an element, doing damage to all nearby creatures, etc.), making them generally more effective. Or just build them so that they have very high level bonuses but do a low base damage, making them very powerful in the hands of one trained to use those weapons, but otherwise useless when used by anyone else. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews!
