It appears that Spamming Muffin has failed to understand something about Spidweb etiquette. It appears that on some forums the topic starter "owns" that topic in some way, and believes that it is permissible to set rules for behaviour in that topic. The General forum does not act like that. Topics have their own lives, and the rules are those in the CoC. As Imban says, a locked thread is one that that has already died, and has been decently interred. -------------------- I am a mater of time and how . Aran's locks always invested me with a sense of peace and serenity, as if their end was part of a natural cycle... Although, that's probably primarily a result of the sunset picture that accompanies it. Edit: Changed "bans" to "locks". An odd typo (perhaps a Freudian Slip, but I can't think where it would come from), really. 'Disturbing' is probably a bit more accurate. But anyway, I sort of see what Muffin is doing. In fact, I did almost exactly what he is doing, though maybe not quite as extreme (one locked topic to date, and it wasn't my fault). Basically, as a complete newbie, some feel the need to post many topics to feel like they have some sort of influence on the community. Usually, anyway. Otherwise you get Canned, as has been said. Speaking of spam, I tried SPAM recently. I fried it and made a sandwich. It was tasty for the first few bites, but it was so disgustingly fatty that I was sick by the time I finished the sandwich (Yes, I finished it, I'm stubborn about these things). Never eating it again, probably.
