Remember, unless its an aura of flames attack when an enemy casts a multi target spell it only hits those near the main target, just like when you cast essence orbs. -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

Well if you are going to exploit a bug to get infinite money to do that, its not really any different in principle from just using a cheat script to do it, just a bit more time consuming. -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

Wonder if the penalty is the same for just helping the rebels on harmony or killing khyrk, and weather for some offenses you are forgiven if you didn't use the canisters but not otherwise. Makes it kind of tempting to play through the entire game as a rebel, but then when you get to the geneforge destroy it (someone said the boat in dhonal west gate is triggered by destroying the geneforge, not talking to rahul so it should work), or play as a loyalist until gull then switch. Bind foe is in the foul cavern, haste is in the tower of the magi, lightning spray in the gremlin cave. Firebalst in the aranea cave, safe travel in the crypt of drath, unshackle mind in formello, divine fire in the bat cave (you will probably not have the required rune reading (or the spell at level 1) when you first explore there, its hidden somewhere near the altar past all the lava). Return life is in the slith temple, and the divine/arcane spells are indeed rewarded for the 3 major quest, reward at either the castle or erika's tower. Does anyone know what happened to the annotated maps site or when the guy who made it was last heard from? -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

With the skill points you can increase thier primary stats, and will probably max those all out at +12 each by the end of the game. At 2 points in the game you can get certain people to upgrade thier attacks. I haven't used greta but the second time you upgrade alwan's attacks he causes acid when he hits, so for greta there is probably a change in attack effect as well as a damage upgrade for her as well. Edit: the second upgrade for alwan is jolana, and khyrk for greta. I remember in the creature faq for geneforge 2 the only differences were a higher creation level, and more hp. I made one in geneforge 3 and it still seemed to be the case. It probably isn't worth it, but was rather interesting to see once when near the end of the game I casted augmentation and essence armor on it and it ended up with over a thousand hp. -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |
Gazer VS. Eyebeast in Geneforge Series

Remember you will get a false sense of eyebeasts hitting for much less if you are attacking fire resistant enemies. They will do much less damage to certain foes (most noteably drakons) than others, but to many foes the damage is similar. Unfortunately they do run out of energy faster though. One thing I did notice though is that the description says gazers cause terror with thier mellee attack, but that never happened for me, but it always mentions terror or terror being resisted when my eyebeast did a mellee attack (which may be advisable when fighting fire resistant enemies as it is magic damage). -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

Huh? how do you criticise him for not liking artifacts then complain about him using one instead of the quicksilver bulwark? Edit: on further reflection how he differs from you is he seems to favor defense more than offense (especially concerning +ap items) [ Sunday, July 17, 2005 19:52: Message edited by: Walter ] -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

Here's the thing about webcomics: It's very easy to get one made available and get some links to it. Thus many people do so who are unfortunately lacking in the talents or effort needed to make it worth reading. There are a large number of very good webcomics out there that many people would judge to be worth the time to read. However there are also a somewhat larger number that, quite frankly, are not. The trick is finding the good ones without wasting your time reading through many more awful ones. -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |
Time vs. Money in General

Well on the one hand, given an infinite amount of money you would likely enjoy yourself quite a bit, but for a relatively short time. However given an infinite amount of time you may not enjoy yourself as much, but as it is over an infinite amount of time it is necessarily more total enjoyment. However, that also means an infinite amount of pain, sadness, and other forms of displeasure. So it is really a question of living a happy life or a long one. Then again as you left the question so open ended it is difficult to have a proper discussion as we aren't all talking about the same situation. -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

Then again, when I fought akhari blaze I killed him in one and a half rounds so the summoned creatures didn't even get a chance to attack him (I was a shaper with alwan, an ur-glaak, a rotdhizon, a gazer, and an eyebeast. Except alwan all were over level 35, some over level 40, half of which had attacked the second round when he died). However the agent from the besieged camp ended up getting in one hit for 20 something damage. Of course I suppose it might have been tougher on torment or if you were playing an agent or guardian, in which case the summoning platform switch + the loyalist from the besieged camp would then make it pretty hard to lose. -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

Yeah the puresteel soulblade has the best damage in the game but no other stats whatsoever. And the fact that you only get it in the hardest area in the game makes it kind of pointless. -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

According to the hintbook, there is also a quicksilver bulwark and a gazerskin sandals there (probably included so both rebels and loyalists could get them as they are both dropped off of characters a rebel wouldn't kill.) Also though I never found it there it says there is supposed to be a demon fang talisman in the monastery caves. And since I couldn't find it and I can't find any mention of it in your items in the faq I have no idea what the stats are or if it even exists after all (wouldn't be the only mistake in the hintbook). -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

One thing to remember is that when you talk about what the government is trying to do or wants to do, that the government itself does not have any goals of its own as it is not a single individual with a single agenda. The government has no priorities other than the personal priorities of whatever individuals are running it, which are not always the same as each other, and this can lead to very inneffective government actions as different measures with conflicting goals can be enacted which interfere with each other and important things can fail to be addressed as no person took it as thier personal priority and expected others to deal with it. -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

I just finished the game with the loyalist ending, then decided to see other ending pieces by going around killing various people and using canisters before getting on the boat again several times and noticed a few interesting things that were quite odd: (spoilers warning!!!!!) . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1. Though a few bits are different beforehand, ultimately things turn out just about as well for you as a loyalist whether or not you used canisters provided you did everything else right. 2. Killing agatha after having freed her does not affect the ending in any way and it still mentions her being executed later. 3. If you kill Khyrk, the shapers interviewing you bring it up, but then when it is describing island by island later on it still talks about him running the island in obscurity. 4. Killing Daiwaniya only causes the absence of a certain piece of text, but no new comments. I've never been there but apparently that's where you get sent if you talk to Lord Rahul with the summoning orb, and you escape through that one door that it tells you is enchanted to make you want to leave and can't open. -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |

I found a rotgroth fang dropped off a rotgroth outside at the south gate, but it might not be a certain drop. It may be a percentage chance off of many rotgroths. -------------------- Warning: Posts may contain misspellinks and typo.s Posts: 409 | Registered: Sunday, March 31 2002 08:00 |
