Luck adds to armor, resistances, and slightly increases item drops (but only before you enter the area). There is a slight chance of avoiding dying but this is usually in the Avernum games. Having a point of luck near the start helps, but usually it's not worth adding more. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Exile games had the feature that as you got more powerful the monsters would flee from you. It kept you from fighting weak monsters at higher levels as random outdoor encounters. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Evil masterminds stay safely hidden in their fortresses so they won't accidently die to lucky shots. Minions are replaceable cannon fodder that can be sent out to do the dirty work. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The biggest constraint is that the game designer has to be at least as creative as the player so the game can allow for many possible actions. Tabletop gaming has the ability for the gamemaster to change to new circumstances while a computer can only accept the inputs that were programmed into it. Back when only text games were available, a player was given or had to figure out the words that the game would accept as valid input for actions. Adventure was known for having some strange actions that were needed to get through the Colassal Cavern. To get what Synergy wants, there has to be a list of actions that players can use beyond the straight hack and slash. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I'm too lazy to change my PDN from what I started with. Besides it would create confusion now since I don't have a noticeable gimmick like some other people or an easily recognizeable member number. Now creating a second identity to plague you with has possibilities. [ Sunday, November 04, 2007 22:08: Message edited by: Randomizer ] Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Soul crystals and crystal souls are different in that one is used to trap souls to be used for the similacrum spell and the other has a revered soul to be preserved forever. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

3) Patrick's tower locked doors or any place else with a high difficulty is usally a quest reward place. Using unlock will eventually get them open. Some of these are listed in the spellbook topic. The only one is in the Castle where there is a diff. 90 door to an empty room. You might want to use the link in Strategy above the topics list to see other places that might have answers. Most cave-in places aren't meant to be passed, Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

A3 has extra quests from people in town that aren't in E3. Also reputation seems to be more affected. Otherwise they are similar. A2/E2 has the fewest differences that I can recall. Too bad E4 will never be made to fix the flaws in the A4 plot. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Most of the early enchantment items that you find are better off being sold so you can use the money to buy spells and training. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The CD has both the Windows and Mac versions of the game in case your next computer isn't the same type as your current one. Also the CD has demos of the other games included. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Starting a topic that is already going down the drain with the first post. A novel idea. You need to move further south to where you wished the seasons changed. I makes you nostalgic for seasons that end when they are supposed to instead of a gradual drop out of 100+ temperatures. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Jeff nerfed parry in later games. Something about it being abused so you rarely took damage. I know Jeff nerfed Roman druids after I showed him how over powered they were even though they couldn't do as much as Celtic druids. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Jeff gave the beta testers a date, but then Leopard occured. If you've read the fuss over the graphics in A4 and GF4 using Leopard (the new Mac OS X), then you'll understand that there is no longer any certainty on when it will be done. We won't know until Jeff issues an update. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
