I think it's blurry to actually concur how much luck you need to actually have an item drop occasionally..if you can..you can edit the scripts to boost the item drop rate..

Luck doesn't appear to significantly affect item drop rates: most of those items have a 1% chance to drop each time you kill the appropriate monster.

WTF dose luck EXACTLY do, What special encounters is it useful, and how dose it affect game play. I also ask the same question...

Luck adds to armor, resistances, and slightly increases item drops (but only before you enter the area). There is a slight chance of avoiding dying but this is usually in the Avernum games.

Having a point of luck near the start helps, but usually it's not worth adding more.

In Geneforge 4, luck doesn't add to item drops, and it adds almost nothing to resistances if I remember correctly.

Then whats the point of luck if its so useles.
I mean I never add a single point to luck in Geneforge nor Avernum. Its pointless!

Luck didn't used to be so pointless. In the original Avernum Trilogy (plus BoA) it could save a character from death if they got hit at 0 health. And in G1, luck was cheap enough and the luck-based special enounters were plentiful enough to justify having several points of luck.

In G1 I ended with 20 points of luck. Since each point is 1% boost to all kinds of things, it really adds up. :D

I don't usually do that, though.

Luck is an extra.
Add points to it if you need some extra resistances.

Otherwise, i think luck has no other effect.

First off, the question has already been answered.
And second off, this is in the Geneforge 4 forum.

Be nice. He was on topic at least, and if you read, the topic was kinda drifting in that direction already. Though I do not argue that his comment wasn't superfluous.

It was topic necromancy. The only bad kind of necromancy, incidentally.

True, but not horrible necromancy. Recently a topic from July was revived in Tech Support, that is bad necromancy.

Discussion of the Dark Arts is not a reason for this to keep going.
