This too is a mirror puzzle, as you may have guessed. Bring some mirrors south and direct the beam to one of the orbs next to the teleporter. It's not terribly hard. After that, you're pretty much done with the scenario. Also, you'll get a great bow right at the end. Don't underestimate it. Serviles are tough as nails, and decent with buffs as well. I say melee with a mental/blessing backup. My servile used a life-steal sword to great effect, as well. And absolutely no creations. However, my brother played an Evasion Infiltrator, which nothing in the game could hit more than 5% of the time on Normal. This allows for uninterrupted devastation by Battle Magic. A very effective character. -------------------- Love is the movement. Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

I am playing N:R again, as Romans this time. I was wondering if blessing the same weapon twice increases the benefit? Also, are scrolls/crystals affected by the user's stats at all? My suspicion is no, since it didn't seem to matter in Avernum. -------------------- Love is the movement. Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

Serviles are great because you can build them to be virtually indestructible, with powerful buffs AND elite battle skills. And you can max XP by never using a single creation. -------------------- Love is the movement. Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

quote:I'm not offended by this story. I think it's amusing. I would still consider "Thomas" a woman, though. A woman that looks like a man is not therefore a man. Trying to blur the line between male and female is more a transgression of nature than anything else, I think. And calling it a "sin" the way you did implies that any "rule" against it is mere convention and prejudice. Again, I'm not offended. I just think it's unnatural. Mystic's comment about mental institutions was extreme, perhaps, but I see his reasoning. In this case, though, it seems to be working fine. -------------------- Love is the movement. I haven't done this much in the Avernum games, but in Nethergate I gave both my fighters some Health Circle so that they could heal everyone after battles and conserve my druids' energy. So a level or two of Priest Spells might be a decent investment. -------------------- Love is the movement. Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

Undoubtedly. However, the American military would never allow the First Lady to be exposed to sniper fire like that. It just wouldn't happen. (No matter how much you hate the American military, they're not that incompetent.) -------------------- Love is the movement. Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

When I was really little, I got so sick that even a sip of water make me hurl. I had to go to the emergency room and wait for 4 hours because they were full, and almost died before I could get an IV. And of course, some of the roads I drive on involve near-death experiences regularly. Of course, I've got nothing on my friend Brad. Shortly after he was born, his legs began to swell up really bad, and he was rushed to the hospital where the doctors suggested immediate amputation. His parents refused, and Brad's heart stopped shortly thereafter. By the time he was resuscitated, he had lost 2/3 of his brain. But now he's just fine, except that every once in a while he forgets what he is doing. [ Friday, March 21, 2008 20:39: Message edited by: Taliesin ] -------------------- Love is the movement. And since thou speakst of graveyards... "Medivh," Diablo II Necromancer After duking it out with Baal in the Worldstone Chamber for a while, the sorely wounded Medivh made a tactical withdrawal to reform his army and reload health/mana. Baal had recently hit him with a weird-looking Curse, but that would only hurt in combat, right? Then, to guard against stray Appendages, Medivh summons a Fire Golem. It was a Feedback curse. -------------------- Love is the movement. Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

9.5 All the advantages of the A4 system (new first aid, no arrows, etc.), plus a whole lot. Battle disciplines are probably my favorite addition ever, and I love the way the plot moves, even if it's pretty linear at times. An excellent game, surpassed only by Nethergate in my opinion. :D Edit: How could I forget? A5 also contains my favorite super-dungeon, Upper Khora-Vysss! :) [ Sunday, March 09, 2008 04:49: Message edited by: Taliesin ] -------------------- Love is the movement. Well, in Geneforge 1 I technically supported the Obeyers, although that was just a part of ruthlessly exploiting all three factions. But the Awakened were my favorite, so I felt bad about killing them. In G5, I'd love to play as an Awakened Servile. And a Loyalist Shaper, of course. :P -------------------- Love is the movement. I think the Janitor Glaahk is a clever idea. Completely unnecessary, of course - we have serviles for that. :) Another idea besides the hammer and anvil is to brand your creations with runes, like Spharon in G3. You could have Resistance Runes, Speed Runes, or whatever you like. -------------------- Love is the movement. Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

Help was very good. Haven't seen that in so long. Regarding Labyrinth... I must say I was listening to David Bowie right before I logged into Spiderweb, which is an interesting coincidence. I thought the movie was rather strange, but the Escher-esque room was very cool, and David Bowie was cool. Some of his costumes were better than others, but overall I enjoyed it. -------------------- Love is the movement. Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |
