I don't remember where I left Demonslayer. :-)
I got, all right (BTW, to stop golem generator, you need at least Tool Use 12).
I was sure I left in some pylons, but I don't found it. Oh, dear!
So... any character editor (..search?) for my lost memory? :-)
(the character editor in this A4 forum don't look to be a character editor...)

I have had the same problem with missing items that I can't find anymore. Just look around at any place you stored items. Demonslayer isn't that useful in this game so you probably can get by without it.

...ergh, hem... I was thinking to recreate (better: to find) with editor. No cheat, only my lost mind. :-)
So, I am searching an editor, like old Avernum/Exile.

Avernum 4 has not editor from Jeff, the game designer. The editors/trainers don't provide the type of help you want.

The best is to use them for examples and replace a later item in the game with the item number for demonslayer. Or add it as an extra reward.

Someone else with more experience in writing scripts could offer better help.

Maybe it sounds strange, but I feel... guilty, because I lost Demonslayer.
It's the spirit of Avernum. It's not a sword, is THE sword. Like Excalibur, Durlindana and so on.

I gave a look on script-create items in Fort Monastery.
Useful stuff, but no Demonslayer.
If only someone could tell me the code, I could edit scripts and (re)create Demonslayer.
I am searching all around... as said, I feel guilty.
BTW, it's possible I clicked "sell" on it. I don't remember.
It should not to be possible to sell a so famed sword, like a steel bar.
Any help? Just the internal code for Demonslayer...

I don't know the number, but a quick search for Demonslayer in the file "av4iemschars" (or something like that; I don't actually have the game) should find it. It's in with all the other game scripts. Good luck.

I was wondering why Demonslayer never turned up in A5. I figured somebody must have lost it. So you're the guy! Grrr. Let us all know when you find it again. We'll sleep better.

Really? Even a mention of Demonslayer? Nada? It was the only non-pole weapon I like..

Hmm..must be because you're away from the main part of Avernum to actually know where it is..@_@

You are looking at item 304. Put a call like reward_give(304);
into the Init_state of a zone script.

An interesting thought... you should be able to do this in A5 too, since it's still in the items list (if I remember correctly). I haven't tried it though.

Edit: Checked the A5 list. Demonslayer is there. :D

IIRC, Medieval and Colonial Era Western nations either used to give you a good flogging or execution if you lost your musket. I wonder what they would do to you if you lost their equivalent of the Demonslayer?
