In my post The FNF entered dusk. This may seem a ltille fast, but remember that plans have had to change, so much time was lost.

Slartucker, due to a stupid mistake on my side, I made it the "FMF" instead of the "FNF." The "Merhas" should be "Nephilmerhas."

other than that, I'm vbery glad you updated the thing, but I still can't figure out what exactly the meanings of the colours are.

Hmmm

Mernal sat on a stone with two of his generals. They were studying the maps of Valorim. About three hours ago, Mernal had sent his silentest Nephil with a gift to the old man, the seeker of knowlegde. He couldn't remember what exactly was the old man's name, but he knew it was something with an "A". Alfred? Allegoria? All-letuce? Or was it... Alfrog? He shook his head. No, that seemed top weird to be true.

The Nephil returned by dusk. Most of the Nephilim were already sleeping, but Mernal was still studying the maps. I need to find a safe route for my people. Either way, we have to travel by night, not by day. By day we might be seen by either the factions to the south or that crazy anama church thing to the west. He took the map in his hands and stood up. He walked around the campfire which was now nothing more than a smoking pile of burnt branches.

That's it!

He sat down, took one of the burnt twigs in the fire, and started sdrawing lines on the map. The most important thing was to stay away from the Dominion. These highly evolved mages were dangerous and not to be trusted, or so he heard from several Nephil refugees that had come to him, asking for help. It was also best not to come into contact with the Looters, an other faction that might form a threat. the anama, however, might be helpful at some point.

A long time ago, when we still lived in Avernum, I remember there was a terrible undead problem. Something with a demon which was freed. Although killed, we are now 300 years furthe rin time. God knows what might have happened down there, and I think I can use all priests I can get.

He called for the nephil he had also given the assignment to give the present to the seeker of knowledge. He whispered to him:

"Take this letter (he gave the Nephil a leatherbound scroll) and bring it to Shayder, capital of the Anama church. Give it to the archbishop, but don't let yourself be seen. There are several ways to get into the city, and one is through the sewers. Be very careful. I know I can trust you. Deposit the letter on the archbishop's desk. We need an alliance. I can offer him spies which even in total silence and day-light won't be seen, but I would like a certain amount of a certain type of arrows. Arrows of life, and of light. Now go, and come back after you heard what the reaction of the archbishop is. In the letter I told the archbishop to write a letter, put the seal of the anama church on it, and place it very close to his window."

The Nephil nodded and started on his way, but Mernal called him back:

"Wait!"

The Nephil turned around.

"Take this. Its a wand of flying. This wand is not enough to let people or animals fly, but it is enough to let small scrolls fly, such as the one I gave you. I'm almost certain that the archbishop wil have a whole hoard of guards in his room, guarding the letter the archbishop had written. They will most certainly want to know who wrote it. In summary: the archbishop will write a letter. If he agrees to my terms, he will put the arrows with the letter at the window. If he doesn't agree, he won't. Use the wand on his letter and the arrows, to let the fly out of the window, directly into your hands. The guards won't knoiw what is happening, and you will be safe. I hope I explained enough. If the archbishop has questions, I told him to write a letter too, but mark the letter with a big "Q." Now you may go."

The Nephil left, and Mernal turned around. he stood up and went to his sleeping mat. he lay down, and fell asleep, while some Nephil warriors were silently partolling on the hills.

I had quite some names, actually. However, in all I did put "Thralni." This is of course the name of one of the generals that went down into Avernum with the first expedition, and the carrier of the Orb of Thralni. I just liked the name, so I took it. Later I discovered this to be quite a good name for me, as I like flying.

The current name (Mc "mini" Thralni) is a joke. Its actually the new Apple computer: Mac mini, but I made it Mc, as id scottish, and "mini" as a sort of nickname.

It is time

Mernal motioned the Nephilim forward. They were to go south, and wade through the water. That was the safest route to go. maybe not the easiest and most practical one, but certainly the safest one. Because of the lake to the north, the water coming down from the waterfall wouldn't be that rough anymore, and wading through would be a possibility. taking bridges would result in a confrontation with the gate keepers of the Keep of Tinraya, and a detour.

staing close to the mountain slope, the army of Nephilim slowly proceeded along the mountain, to the place were they had to wait. Very slowly and very silently, they stepped into the water. before doing that, however, four of the Nephilim mages gave everybody a sort of small balloon. This balloon was filled with air, and had to be ut on the mouth. This way the Nephilim could remain under water long enough to get to the other side.

Whn eventually eveybody had safely got to the other side, Mernal ordered everybody to sit behind the two hills, so nobody from the village, nor from the walls at the other side of the river, would be able to see them. there they sat for an hour or two, drying their furs in the sun. Some nephilim were helped by the mages, who casted small bolts of fire on dead twigs and branches, as to light a fire. When everybody had dried from the adventure in the river, they took their stuff and moved on.

They were very close now to the village. They could already see the houses. For as far as Mernal could see, the most important building, the library, was in the northeastern corner of town. that was his main objective. There it is. We have to attack from the north, though. And so they did. In a large circel, keeping low constantly, they circled around the village. When finnaly in position, mernal motioned the mages forward.

He whispered: "Are you ready?"

The mages nodded.

KABUM!

The soldiers and guards partolling the small stone alls all looked at the a large whole in the northern part of the wall.

KABUM!

The library walls were hit! Three guards, standing at the place where the wall had been blasted away were thrown into the library, but they didn't come back. Worried humans walked out of their houses, holding to their children. Then the enemy approached. probably 150 Nephil warriors came running, while succesfully dodging the poor wooden arrows, shot by the startled guards. A sign, standing at a small northen opening in the wall, said:

"Welcome to the small rustic village of Moon"

The sign didn't hold. A well-placed bolt of fire had burnt it, and now lay smoking on the grass. the archers and mages and priests stayed back, whiel Mernal walked to the village and looked at the chaos his army had spread.

Once, the village of Moon was a small nice village. the library wasn't that big but it had some powerfull spell tomes. Now, about 300 years later, the citizens of Moon had understood the importance of the library, and built a small stone wall around the city. they didn't expect a large army to attack them, though.

twenty Nephil warriors ran into the library, taking allkinds of books with them. Soon, the whole village was plundred, and all inhabbitants killed. However, before the chief guard had been stabbed to death, he had blown a large bronze horn. this worried Mernal. We have to leave. Now. he shouted to the warriors, archers and spellcasters, and they left, while taking half of the books in the library. the half containing spells, including the magic tomes of haste, slow, bolt of fire and spray acid. Not the most powerful spells, but a good addition to the cumbersum amount of spells his mages knew.

they left Moon to the south and followed the road. At that point, Mernal remembered an old truce he had with some old man. "A seeker of knowledge" he had called himself when mernal first met him. he had helped the man with the old nephil language, and for that service, the man had given him a map of valorim and a map of Moon. The library was marked with red. That's how mernal knew to go the Moon. he orderd the army to hold, and go to the west, where they put up the camp between some hills. mernal had to sit and think. Some time ago, he had heard of strange goblin activity, moving in the general direction of the place where that seeker of knowledge was suppose to live.

What to do now. I'll have to rethink my plans...

OOC: I propose this to be day 1. Nobody got to night time yet, but if one does, please make that very clear with a message in bold letters. The day after that will be called day 2. What do others think about this?

OOC:

I'm completely loosing track of time. While most people or only perhaps a day further, Goldenking seems to be already three weeks forward in time. Its just an idea, but maybe it would be handy to denote the day above the IC. Wat do others think about this?

EDIT: Okay, this will be a spoiler for everybody in this RP, but I need a map of the town Moon for my post. If anybody could send me one by email, I would be very grateful. Just send me a PM first.

Thanks in advance

IC:

Mernal had stood up when amongst the other Neplhilim standing in the shades. He looked around.

"Nephilim priests and mages! come forward!"

About 25 Nephilim approached Mernal. All wearing either red or blue with purple robes and cloaks. mernal looked at them and counted. 27. That should be enough to blast away the walls. Now lets see, how many skilled archers and warriers do I have here exactly. I used to know all this, but ever since all these refugess from the south of Valorim came to us (I wonder about these Hunter faction, or however they call themselves. They must be eliminated, and we shall be the ones to do it. They are a serious threat. However, first its time to conquer the city.

"Archers! Come forward! Stand there."

He pointed at a spot next to the priests and mages, and started counting. 1,2,3 (....) 128,129,130,131. Phew. Quite a lot indeed.

"Warriors, stand there, on the other side of the priests and mages, so I can count you too. Hrosre, come here."

All warriors went there where Mernal wanted them to stand. A young but fierce and strong looking Nephil went to Mernal's side. He stood there, waiting for his orders.

"Hrosre, count the warriors, while I go to each of the groups and explain what should be done. I expect to have at least 150 warriors at my disposal. When you're ready, come to me and tell me how many warriors we have. Now right down on this piece of paper:

Mages and priests: 27
- mages: 15
- priests: 12

Archers: 131

Warriors: ...

When you're ready counting, fill in the amount of warriors on these point, go to me, give me the note, and go back to stand with your own group. Don't forget to count yourself too."

With these last words he started counting, while Metnal went to the mages and priests to explain their role in this battle.

IC:

Mernal entered his room to take his bow, arrows and his small iron dagger. You just never know if you could need it. He closed the door, and sat at his desk, took out a small paper, and wrote on it, in small curly letters:

He who seeks, shall find. He who believes, shall succeed. He who trusts, shall win.

He put away the pencil, and took his cloak. it was a cloak of dragon leather. he had gotten it from the chieftain of his former tribe, before the fleeing started. A tear had difficulty finding the correct path downwards, through the hairs on his cheek. He wore his cloak, put his dagger in his pocket (hardened with a piece of metal), and put his arrows and bow with some strings on his back. he left the room, and closed the door.

Everybody had gathered by now in the dining hall with all their stuff. arrows, bows, some had daggers, too. However, they were all wearing the same clothes, which marked them as members of the "Fãhif Merhas Fiãnas:" dark, brown boots, a cloak with brown and green stripes, a small leather helmet, brown pants and a leather jacket. the leather jacket was the thing one could recognise each other: it had a small yellow "A" with a brown arrow through it. mernal went to the center of the dining hall, where the pot of soup had stood before, and spoke to his men:

"Nephilim, the day is there. today we will succeed, and start our journey back. Fight well, my nephilim, and don't be afraid to kill them!"

The nephilim started shouting, cheering, applauding. This was the day.

"Nephilim! Follow me out of this damp cave!"

The started shouting a second time, and all got their stuff together, as to follow Mernal. he too, got his stuff together, and headed towards the exit. The nephilim followed, and once outside, they became silent again. A calm wind blew across the fields and river in front of them. mernal went to the shore of the river, lay on his belly, and looked. the other nephilim had taken cover, or were lying on their bellies too.

Its there. in the distance. I can see the smoke coming from the houses. We must be quick and very careful, so the foolish humans at the gates and walls to the south of us wouldn't see us. that shuldn't be too difficult. then, we get to the city, and the humans will know what nephilim can do when angry.

He crawled back to the rest, still on his belly, and then stood up when in the shades of the nearby trees. In a soft, but for Nephilim well-to-hear voice, he spoke:

"The city is close, but we musn't be seen by the guards of the city, nor the guards at the gates and walls of the big eerie human forest."

All Nephilim nodded, and they slowly started their journey.

OOC: Slartucker, although the objective of the FMF is of course power, the main goal is to get revenge on the Avernites, for slaughtering Nephilim. For the rest, good work. I already used the list in theis last post.

OOC: great! A new RP, and this one seems very interesting. the idea is a very good one.

IC:

Mernal sat at his table in this small room. The candle was shedding a sweet light, just enough to see what he was writing. After some time, one of the nephil warriors came in. he had said to the warrior to go back to his room. Tomorrow was an important day, and this might be the only chance to do it right. Everybody needed to rest.

Through a tiny opening in the ceiling of the cave that formed a cosy room, mernal saw a small ray of sun light. This may very well be the day that everything will happen. he stood up from his small rug. He looked at the rug, and shook his head. No. Not anymore. Today it must happen. He walked over to his small wardrobe, and took his boots and leather armor.

When he eventually arrived in the dining room (it was another cave like room, with candles all over the walls), almost everybody was sitting at the tables and eating breakfast. mernal looked at his chair, which was empty. he then looked at the other nephilim, and then at the cook, who was standing behind a big pot with a boiling soup in it. The Nephil cook nodded. Mernal nodded too. he walked over to the cook, and took the bowl of soup. he then went to his chair, sat down, and ate.

everybody had finished the soup, and the pot of soup was empty too now. Mernal stood up from his chair, and spoke in a loud, clear voice:

"Today, my friends, is the day. take your arrows and bows, and we shall conquer and win."*

OOC:

Faction: Fãhif Nephilmerhas fiãnas (Army of the beating Nephilim) (or just FNF)
Faction leader: Mernal
Location: The very north of valorim, at the borders of the Blackgrag forest.
Description: Ever since the Avernites came down to Avernum, the Nephilim were beaten, harrased and killed. A small group of Nephil youngsters, already after the Nephil war in Avernum ended, when Nephilim were excepted in Avernum and were left to be, went to the surface. They went all the way north, there where terrain is rough and traveling is unsafe: the perfect place for Nephilim to have their hide-out. From here it is that they make small raids on merchants. They are determind to gain more strength, and when the time comes, go back to Avernum and claim the nephilim lands back.

* This sentence should have been in the nephil language, but translating it to it and then back to English would have taken too much time.

This, on the other hand, is extremely quote-worthy. Should there be a scorecard somewhere for keeping track of these things, or do you employ a calendar (one of those day/page things) where you dispose of the page or mark it after making your daily grammar correction? Now, I enjoy a good grammar correction as well as the next guy, but is Thralni the right fellow to receive it? I thnk not. He is too sensitive, too much follow-up discussion will take place, and he is not here to learn English grammar.

:P

Don't worry, I've got used to this a long time ago. Of course, this irritates me abit, but on the other hand I can only benefit from it, right?

This may well be used as a cheat of some sort, or ust to see what will happen in the future of the game, but you can just make it a word or pdf file. You could put in clear entries of people, special rectangles you encounter and where these are (what map). This can then be downloaded by people who would like to use it.

The only problem is, is that this is an enormous undertaking. It will require much patience and time, which i doubt anybody has (I, as somebody who is undertaking about four very big projects at once, knows what he is talking about).

The site works again, which is strange. It apparently was something with the bookmark that was wrong.

So i died. I didn't even get the chance to make a strong and not-so-cunning terrain script, not did I get the chance to shout "death to the noobs." Oh well. Life just isn't fair, is it.

I will, Slartucker. only problem is I don't know where to look for one. Could you please help me (or any other person?). Alternatively, just send me a PM.

First: He is 14, I believe (that is, if he didn't lie to me about that too).

Second: You again make it only worse for yourself. it seemed as though you started to learn, as though you might gain my respect, but you posted this topic and sent me that PM. Saying that everybody hates you time and time again, is a recipe for people not liking you. You can only make it as good/bad as you let others make it as good/bad. If you constantly make things bad by saying bad things yourself ("Everybody hates me"), then you can predict with a chance of 99,99% of ebing right, that other people will eventually not like you. there is nothing worse than a person making himself pittyfull, asking fo mercy all the time, and making mundane and unnecessary posts/topics/polls. However, if you start saying "Everybody likes me", chances are you'll also be not liked. The lesson: try to see things in proportion and don't overreact, and DON'T start stating how people probably feel about you. nothing more irritating than getting told time upon time that you hate a pesron, while you probably don't.

take care, and see you next week.

EDIT: By the way, i didn't know you made a website? What's the link to the website, please?

Aran, that was exactly why I reacted so surprised, as I thought that .dmg is a standard Mac file, not a Windows one. heck, even OS 9 can't read it, it can only read .img files with disk copy. was this something new Apple invented with the coming of OS X?

I did the follow the link, and I can find the same information myself. But as I already said, I wnated to make sure it was indeed eastern time and not GMT (or EST, I forgot what i thought at the time) you were talking about. It didn't make sense to me you would put in GMT at the first time, but than switch over to eastern US time at the second.

I know what GMT would be. I was just inquiring about the time, it could have been a rather weird typo.

Euros is only the currency. The people can only be called "Europeans."

what exactl do you mean with "eastern"? that's not GMT, as then the time is not correct.

- This one confuses me. There is a semicolon. I'll check later.

I got this one as well in a certain town with a ialogue script. You can still move around and talk thouhg, so its not really a problem this error. However, it is irritating.
