That's newbies. The compromise was that they're three fifths of a person.

Wow.

THE POWWE---

*cough*

I mean, it is very honoring you the Diebo-- the people have shown me such trust and support.

I hope I will be able to repay that trust in the future and in turn prove worthy of the decision Stareye made for you. :)

Alas, I have no time for anything longer, because I'm typing this in the few minutes I have before I need to catch the train to work. I'll be back soon.

Holy cop-out Batman!

Not only does the new mod-bot not stay stable long enough to do the job, but it also can't finish words.

:P

Edit - How long do we have to haze the new guy? I was thinking 1 week was appropriate, but I forget if it has already been 5 days. *i?

So... hazing? Does that mean we hire a bunch of noobs to post ban-worthy topics and spam all over the boards, so that Aran gets some work?

Umm, that sounds like campus police level stuff. How about members in good standing post questionable materials, that while not breaking the CoC, may stretch it somewhat. You know, like maybe post some gifs before the patent expires, or a quote from a copyrighted work. With no attribution....

Anyhow, with new meat at work for several hours, there is plenty of time to iron out the details.

;)

It was me! I got Aran nominated! And Stareye read my po... *SMACK* (Gets punched in the face by reality)

Congrats Aran. And you got rid of the Alice-reference for a custom title too. This new one seems to hold great promise.

You are forgetting that said meat has internet access at the workplace, and only loose regulations on how to use it. :)

Oh, AND a new title, in less than a month. Gosh, this made my weekend. :P

So now Aran's had, what, four custom titles?

Why don't you share the wealth among the proles who would kill for a chance at your Party goods?

—Alorael, who must insist that any and all fun had at Aran's expense not impinge on the others mods' sinecures. Certain individuals don't want to be pressed into having to do their duties.

Sounds like the new boy needs to tread lightly. Amazingly, I'm also starting to feel that jokes are like bread. Nonetheless, fixed your typo.

There are 400 words in the dictionary that begin with "self" and only 8 that begin with "fellow".

An archivist wizard who is able to write a whole novel in one month is well worth to be a mod. And it's finally an advance: The first european moderator without english mother tongue!

(Congratulation), Aran, may your engagement last out Thuryl's.

Far away, son, and well buried in the past. Thanks to Aran's fine PP archives, I can point to these pages though. There might be others too.

Unfortunately, my coup for taking over the adminship is not yet ready; until then, my area of authority does not cover custom titles... :(

Also, in answer to a question posed a little over a week ago...

I suppose you can help speed up the "passing on" bit, but I'd warn you that Spiderweb mods, as a rule, are tough as nails, are bred to survive, and are proficient in various martial arts. :P

They are also people who start topics only when they make sense, who keep their calm in the midst of flamewars, whose powers of spelling and grammar is beyond part, and whom you would implicitly trust even if you dislike them. Based on this, I really have my doubts you'd fit in the group.

Unashamed flattery and sucking up. We have ourselves a winning recipe, folks; take heed.

Congratulations with your new title, Aran.
You are very courageous to accept the task without the cloak of anonymity.
Do not let anonymous powers that be hide behind your R/L personality that you insert into the leadership.

I wish you
a) good judgement between the inevitable corruption of power and the necessary loyality and
b) the chance to be useful to this community that has had deeper influence on your own development than you can know.

Now where is that melon sex topic, or whatever form of testing new mod's limits is popular now? :)
