I can do stick figure drawings too! They're just not any good. The swords read "authentic roman sword" and "ridiculously gamebreaking". The pilum says "1d8 + 1d18/level". The people are obviously Kel and TM. Kel's meant to be wearing a leather jacket over generic blue clothing. Note: this is meant to emulate the artisitic style of Rich Burlew's webcomic , which I happen to read and rather like. quote:Well, Djur would disagree. So would I, but then I'd get into a flamewar over which system is better. I'll just say: Mozilla Firefox and Battle for Wesnoth were both originally programmed for Linux. To me, that carries more weight than any survey taken from an obscure post on a blog I've never heard of. Also, calling someone a 'nerd' is a ridiculously stupid insult. -------------------- ~Note : The professional newbie's advice should not be taken seriously, or at all.~ LINKAGE Posts: 364 | Registered: Saturday, January 17 2004 08:00 |

Until someone writes a walkthrough as has been done for the first two games, it could be useful, but people on these forums tend to have answers. On the other hand, you would be supporting Spiderweb Software, whatever that's worth. -------------------- ~Note : The professional newbie's advice should not be taken seriously, or at all.~ LINKAGE Posts: 364 | Registered: Saturday, January 17 2004 08:00 |

You could be playing Homeland as a third-person 3D platform game complete with dodgy, dodgy camera angles, while still keeping the gameplay and interface exactly the same. Also, DragonLore could have hired Michael G. Slack as the scriptwriter. I also encountered this error, and I am not sure why, but the way I got past it was to kill the one guard standing near the fire in the War Party area. He is non-hostile. I also tried killing Malachai, but that just got me killed. -------------------- ~Note : The professional newbie's advice should not be taken seriously, or at all.~ LINKAGE Posts: 364 | Registered: Saturday, January 17 2004 08:00 |

I think it to be somewhat worse that almost one in five people think Alcritas is undeserving of said honorific while (assumedly) thinking one of the other designers is. This goes up to two in seven for Stareye, almost one in four for Brett Bixler and Drizzt, and one in two for The Creator. (Kelandon, TM, Thuryl, and Tarl Kudrick are all sitting at slightly over two in three.) Well, what if said court witnesses are atheistic or of a non-christian religon and find swearing by the bible to be neither binding nor particularly tasteful when they could swear by their own holy documents or belief system. I would think a better version would be simply an oath to tell the truth. -------------------- ~Note : The professional newbie's advice should not be taken seriously, or at all.~ LINKAGE Posts: 364 | Registered: Saturday, January 17 2004 08:00 |

Homeland: The Stone of the Night is generally considered to be one of the worst games ever to defile the internet. It is said to be acutely painful to do anything at all in the game or even to just look at the GUI. So, porting it would not be economically feasible. Also, Homeland was not made by Jeff Vogel, and its creator has apparently vanished of the face of the earth, so it probably wouldn't be portable anyway. I got to this thread before Kelandon, demonstrating that his main point of being able to lock certain topics before anyone else can is not always valid. That is why you should vote for me - whether or not I am running or want the position. It's like the Misc election all over again! (Except, Alcritas had respect and people actually knew who he was. Never mind.) EDIT: Yeah, and then there's the fact that this topic doesn't really need to be locked that badly. And the fact that Drakey got there before I did. Oh, and yay for you, ADOS. As Alorael will tell you, your failed signature theft is probably too incompetent to snipe you over. (Slipped into first person and didn't use any form of punctuation before your name.) I would think a good boss for the Generic Dungeon would be a normal monster (eg. goblin) except larger, different-coloured, with four times more HP than it could ever realistically have, and a random description, like 'venomous' or 'malignant' stuck on the front. Of course, said boss would have another advantage in that it could be used in Geneforge. Just replace all uses of the word 'goblin' with 'artila' and you're set! Books Being Made Into Movies in General | |

An explanation of exactly why I despise the movies boils down to two points. One is that while the main selling point of the book was the story and the sense of wonder that it creates by giving the reader the idea that the world of Middle-Earth is as realistic and deep and alive as ours, while the main selling point of the movies were the UB3R L33T KEWL BATLTES!!!111 and the poorly done romantic subplot (why must almost every goddamn movie, even ones where all the main characters are children under the age of eight, have a romantic subplot?) The second is that the movies relegated Faramir to the role of an ambitious idiot who is overcome by his conscience, Sam to an immature, prepubescent sidekick, and Gimli to a bumbling, intentionally stupid character designed only for comic relief (and as a foil to the stupidly magnified Legolas). Plus, they got rid of the Scouring of the Shire. And I find that screenplays adapted into movies tend to work out very well actually. Depends upon the screenplay, of course. -------------------- ~Note : The professional newbie's advice should not be taken seriously, or at all.~ LINKAGE Posts: 364 | Registered: Saturday, January 17 2004 08:00 |
