Hmm, you're right. Almost word for word. I don't know how I missed that.

It is in Exile 1.

Ask Sss-Schai in Gnass about "rebels"

quote:

His face darkens with anger. "Yes. A band who followed dark powers, led by Sss-Thoss, grandfather to Sss-Thsss. They were expelled, in the mercy of the leaders, and came here, threatened by death should they return. Then the humans arrived."

"As the war started, decades after we arrived, some of us finally rejected Sss-Thsss."

I think you might be able to open the source in Project Builder if you're running 10.2 or earlier. If you're running 10.3 but don't have Xcode installed, you can install the developer tools with
/Applications/Installers/Xcode Tools/Developer.mpkg

No one has brought up Family Guy. So I will.

I like it! And South Park is good, but I prefer the movie to the series.

In addition, how are its structures? Does it have a 'foreach' style iterative loop? Does it have iterators or generators, for that matter? Closures? Does it do generics?

I'm not sure what a lot of those things mean, but I know it doesn't have polymorphism; every object's class is declared statically.

Looking through Exile III's resource fork gives "Monoroe" (for the Mac version), so the Windows version is probably the same. I have version 1.0.1.

Anyone looking to learn programming for Mac OS X should definitely check out

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/ObjectiveC/ObjC.pdf

I'm finding it very useful.

I'm currently trying to teach myself Cocoa with Objective-C. Try Cocoadev, it seems very comprehensive.

I've used REALBasic, Java, AppleScript. I tried learning Objective-C, and made a simple program, but it was kinda over my head. I can also read PowerPC assembly pretty well (well enough to... um... do certain things inappropriate for these boards). But do I consider myself a programmer? Meh. Not really. I think everyone should have at least some knowledge of programming.

From The Third Man:

quote:
Holly Martins : Have you ever seen any of your victims?
Harry Lime : You know, I never feel comfortable on these sort of things. Victims? Don't be melodramatic. Tell me. Would you really feel any pity if one of those dots stopped moving forever? If I offered you twenty thousand pounds for every dot that stopped, would you really, old man, tell me to keep my money, or would you calculate how many dots you could afford to spare? Free of income tax, old man. Free of income tax - the only way you can save money nowadays.
I think I'd have to erase the dots -- If I never know them personally, or the consequences of their deaths, what does it matter to me? Everyone lives and dies. All I see directly is that I benefit personally.

You can get a ~$30 mouse (mine is Kensington) that is optical, has two buttons, and a wheel. Just plug it in and it automatically gets right-click functionality, and you can further customize it with the software it comes with.

Now, I'll just wait for the cries of "Aha! Off to get a Mac!"

Or their good fortune. It depends on how you look at it. (Side note: have you ever been to OBJECTIVE: Christian Ministries, ben? I think you might enjoy it.)

Anyway, ADoS said he's going on a mission, not to college. (hmm... two years? A mormon, then?)

I tend to like the social structure of my school. No football team, no cheerleaders. There is a homecoming, but all it is is the class who graduated last year come back and chill with the current seniors for a day. There isn't much pressure to conform and fit in, and there's plenty to do besides seeing movies and going to the mall (I <3 NY!). We have a spirit week as well. Maybe around a third of the school dresses in pajamas. Hardly anyone ever gets suspended for any reason. There tend to be very few jocks, as it's an intellectual school that admits by competitive examination only in seventh grade.

I just saw Team America: World Police by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and I was wondering if any of you have seen it and what your opinion of it is.

I thought it was very funny, even if it was a little biased against liberal actors in Hollywood. It did bash American policy quite a bit, though.

So... reactions? comments?
