I'm not for big long philosophical dscussions myself, so I'll just say this: I didn't think Revolutions was actually in the Matrix enough. It was too much outside of it in Zion or something (oh yeah, am I the only one to think that Zion should be spelt with an x and/or y, like Xyon?). The only thing I thought was badly done in the first movie was the déjà vu thing (y'know, with the cat). It seemed far too extreme to be déjà vu. Although on the subject of the Matrix's philosophy, has anyone read Pratchett's Bromeliad trilogy (it's about nomes, who are six inches tall and who live under the floors of a department store, which is their world. It's quite funny to see it from their point of view. Read it if you ever come across it, unless Pratchett really isn't your thing, in which case don't.)? At one point it describes Amazonian frogs who are born, live and die in flowers called bromeliads high in the rainforest canopy and who never know that there is a big wide world out there. -------------------- ~ørangutan I want high-bit characters in my displayed name!!! :( :( :( (Or at least an exclamtion point!) Em-dash is shift-alt-dash isn't it? Or do all you PC-using fools have inferior keyboards? ~ørangutan, who personally prefers squiggles than dashes, and who is about the only one to type the ø successfully without typing &o slash;. (I'm sure some of you can, I just know some people can't at least!) [em-dash:] edit—I was just reading through the source of this page to check once and for all that UBB doesn't change my ø's into ø's or ø's (check the source yourself to see the difference) and I noticed that all the name headings are actually links to people's profiles. How random. Oh yeah, mein Herr Arancaytar, I only did it cos TM did, and cos it's so much easier to spell than "Arancaytar" which is impossible in comparison and difficult to shorten. Drakey's the only one powerful enough to give anyone a custom title. I still don't see why he doesn't give himself them now and then. All he has is Triad Mage. Didn't Alec used to be a Triad Mage, right back at the start? Remember his old account? It was like "<s>Triad Mage</s> <s>BANNED</s> Veteran" (I don't think you can post strikethrus, but I can try) -------------------- ~ørangutan I want high-bit characters in my displayed name!!! :( :( :( (Or at least an exclamtion point!) Who's Dvorak? Does he have anything with the Keyboard Layout on all Macs entitled "Dvorak"? Y'know, Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms played a part in the school production of "On Your Toes" last June. Specifically, the words were "Bach, Beethoven and Brahms" and the cast had cards to hold up, each with a letter on the front so that the overall effect was it spelling out "Bach", "Beethoven" or "Brahms". You don't care. I can hear you not caring. So what? Music... music... South Side by Moby, Angel by Saint Etienne, Re-Hash by Gorillaz. -------------------- ~ørangutan I want high-bit characters in my displayed name!!! :( :( :( (Or at least an exclamtion point!) I don't know. I'm talking about unus anulus (One Ring) having rhyming qualities, not the other bit at the end of each line. You may not care, but I worked out Tolkien's ring-inscription in Latin (all by myself!) unus anulus eos omnes regendi, unus anulus eos repperendi, unus anulus eos omnes cogandi, et in obscuro eos continendi Yeah! It even rhymes and has rhythm! And those are two of the most difficult to spell words in the entire English language! I'm in my second-to-last year of high school, S5. I use a Scottish system which almost none of you are likely to understand, but anyway... I'm doing five Highers this year: English, Maths, Fizzix, Latin and Chemistry, which I hate the most cos my teacher is soo boooring, I hate him, he probably hates me, and he was the one teacher I did not want to get again this year!! As soon as any of the posts on these boards make sense, are not repetitive or do not include 30-40 different versions of the same post, I'm a forty-year old american female chain-smoker hooked on several drugs who knows absolutely nothing about computers and who has the worst taste in pop music. Wow. I haven't even heard of half these bands. I've stopped listening now, myself. I'm logging on from a library, and you know how they are about noise. My iTunes library at home is mostly Moby or Dido or Saint Etienne or Gorillaz, plus a few from Red Hot Chilli Peppers and No Doubt and Eminem. It all depends on what mood I'm in, or how iTunes shuffles the playlist... Zephyr, when you listened to the Macarena, did you get up and dance? I wouldn't like to think you didn't cos that would ruin it! It's one of the only songs I know the dance to, along with 'YMCA' and Steps' 5-6-7-8... ;) -------------------- ~ørangutan I want high-bit characters in my displayed name!!! :( :( :( (Or at least an exclamtion point!) Just guessing here, but I believe the first game I ever played was probably Shufflepuck, on a Mac Plus I had about 10 or 11 years ago. It was like a primitive 3D pong which you played versus the computer, who had several different characters, of whom the ghost I always found impossible. I was only 5, it's not my fault. It stopped working when my dad got a new computer. First SpidWeb game? probably an Exile game, E1 perhaps. edit:ghost [ Saturday, November 01, 2003 02:08: Message edited by: small crazy munchkin ] -------------------- ~ørangutan I want high-bit characters in my displayed name!!! :( :( :( (Or at least an exclamtion point!) I don't I've had a recurring dream, but I think I've had most of the dreams mentioned here on some level or another... I once had a dream a bit like Aarow Swift's one where I woke up several months later, and didn't know certain vital details about my life at that point. I think I might have woken up in a sweat, but it was probably a dream about sex; I don't generally have nightmares. I don't know about myself, but some of my family definitely does: my mum once talked about "dragging through a mountainy bit" or something, and I regularly hear my brother sleeptalking because I share a room with him. I can never tell if I'm controlling a dream or not. Last night I had this dream where I was at Deep Sea World and there was this special tank which people could swim about in, so I went in and swam about underwater and people watched me through glass. I think I could control it, and I think there was a bit where I was out of breath, which may be associated with me trying to swim a length underwater yesterday. I sometimes have dreams where I'm driving - the closest to a recurring dream I believe I've had. Ah, long posts. The bane of modern civilisation, yet I still insist on making them! -------------------- ~ørangutan I want high-bit characters in my displayed name!!! :( :( :( (Or at least an exclamtion point!)
