I could never work out how to get Symbiosis or Mindduel to work.

And I'm sure there's a way to get invulnerability from a spell, but I think it's Arcane Shield and therefore totally unrelated.

Why don't you go to the home page of the boards and add up the numbers in the "Posts" columns?

btw, I hate you too, guy whose name I've forgotten but know it began with a 'D'
edit: Desert Plah, that's it!

45. Houses consist of two rooms, one of which is always L-shaped and neither of which is a toilet (a bad thing when you're absolutely bursting!)

46. Everyone either has something useful to say or doesn't talk to you.

47. Upon dying, people leave small bloodstains and items of clothing or weaponry, but never a body.

48. Sticks and rocks found on the ground can kill the most heavily armoured warriors (even if they have to take a bit of punishment first)

49. If you hurt someone, a number will fly from their head, acommpanied by three circles of blood which are always in the same place, no matter where you hurt them.

50. Evil dungeons filled with undead spirits are found everywhere.

51. Trumpets will always annouce your entry into a town.

52. Maps can magically fill in blank spaces just because you've been there.

53. No matter how big or small you are, or whether you have a tail of any form or not, the same equipment fits everyone, i.e. helmets or body armour from giants fits puny little humans and pants made for humans (with no tail) fit lizard men easily (with a large tail). One size fits, quite literally, all!

If the first post was in April 2001, how come the earliest joiners to the boards (e.g. Drakey has "Registered: Sep 2001" and is "Member #7") didn't join until around September 2001?

What feature that the Avernum series lacked would you most like to see in BoA? in Blades of Avernum

I'd like to see text responses like in E2, E3 and BoE. If you've ever played E3 in that spiral crypt on the Isle of Bigail then tried it in A3, then you'll find that instead of typing in the answer to the riddle you get it given to you as one of the default responses:
"1. I don't know
2. I think it's ...........
3. I think it's ..........."
which is pretty boring in comparison.

we are the cheeky girls, we are the cheeky girls, you are the cheeky boys, you are the cheeky boys...

(that's how serious)
(and don't tell me you haven't heard that song)
On an ever so slightly more serious note, I sometimes make up large, epic maps on paper and never even get around to opening the editor to make them.

Or perhaps just a script database, which I'm sure brett would snap up the duty of doing immediately (seeing how he's just volunteered to do this hypothetical contest :P ).

A cool, random, and totally pointless idea (will it work?) in Blades of Avernum

I just thought, how about having different modes of transport. Like, instead of horses you could have bikes (with their own graphic and everything). If you could do that kind of thing it would be cool.
Also, would you be able to check to see if the party are riding them and/or stop them from getting off? If so, you could extend it to say, for instance, snowboards, and the party can't take them off until they're at the bottom, and must have them on to go down. Now that would be cool!

Does that mean that we can use an editor like the boe one but better or that we get special scripts like that door one and place them down everywhere and just edit the text (e.g. placing a one-time message only requires us to place a one-time message script)? Of course, if we couldn't design new scripts it would make for a pretty crappy scenario :P .
(surely someone must have understood that...)

Maybe when it comes out we could have a script-designing contest! That'd be cool :) !

NPCs being able to join the party is excellent!! But I just have one little comment to make about PC storage areas - that in A3 you could only store four characters at once. I know there probably isn't a need for more than that, but when you come to have 4 PCs that you created and 3 NPCs, then you want to add the 4th NPC, you can't get her then go back to a storage area and put her in it because all four slots are taken. So a good idea would be to make it so that you can swap a character in your party for one in the storage area, instead of being told that it is full. I hope at least someone understood that...
Also with dropping items, does anyone remember in BoE, in the Valley of Dying Things (probably not, but hey?), there was a part in the library where you had to drop a book onto a pedestal. If VoDT is being converted to BoA, then how is this going to work? Dropping it on a rug just isn't the same...

Probably even more possible than it was in BoE, perhaps even probable!

Is there a list of all the BoA Graphics Sites somewhere. If not, someone should make one.
(Isn't Winter a year away? nooooo. cannot... wait... that... long... *dies in despair, then thinks that he'd probably rather play Lemmings till then...*)

Cool site. It'll be so much better when it's got more graphics on it. By the way, maybe I'm just stupid, but why start with graphics now, when they haven't even set a date for BoA's release yet (or have they??).
