Not that anyone cares, but I completed Avernum 3 on Monday, finally! That's the first time I've seen the end of it, anyway. Then I did my English exam on Friday and relaxed in-between studying for it by playing BoA. I now need to register it... Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

I used a random name generator: Comang (fighter guy) Halamdeq (slith fighter) Kuch (utility nephil guy) Ku'apaabr (mage) Zheo'uer (mage/priest) Fovegrafu (priest) I haven't played Exile 3 for a long time. The only reason I still know these was because I loaded it up for a few minutes to see what my party was like in those days. Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

My instinct tells me (having not seen any of those names before) 'u' in 'put' for the <w>, 'ie' in 'pie' or 'a' in 'bat' for <ae> and 'ch' in 'loch' or 'Bach' for the <gh>. I'm probably wrong though for the <ae>, at least... Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

There's a pargraph in one of the books you can read in A3 which suggests aroundabout 50 years, maybe a bit more. Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

Mines is pretty similar to JadeWolf's, and the default, but with only player 2 getting bows. Also I never use the default characters; I make my own with the Custom type. So it's like: 1: human fighter elite warrior & fast on feet assassination, melee weapons, (throwing weaps) 2: nephil archer/thief nimble fingers, fast on feet archery, tools, (melee, assassination) 3: slith priest/fighter natural mage, something else priest spells, pole weapons, (assassination) This one starts out just a priest, but gets weapon skills later on. 4: human mage natural mage, something else (i can't remember these) mage spells, alchemy, (perhaps melee) Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

First time I played A3 (I'd played E3 before so I did know what was going on...) I got to the final level but never officially finished it because I wanted to wait around for the "fun event" that Alorael just referred to. A bit silly though because then I moved onto some other game or something and never did finish it properly... That was on Easy mode and I'd been going around doing everything. The game I'm playing now is on Torment and it's about day 110. But I am going around doing everything again. Partly because it's quite a while since I last played it... If you click while the game starts up you can skip the intro music. Not sure if it works for A1/2, but definitely for A3... Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

Surely there's not even that much experience to be got from the entire game? If you clear out every single dungeon you're not incredibly high in the grand scheme of things if said grand scheme goes right up to 32767? Indeed, what level are you if you clear out every dungeon? I once made a program on my calculator that randomly selected between "JELLY!", "WIBBLE" and "WOBBLE", so I took the name from that. I wanted an exclamation mark as well but it didn't let me put it in. That was annoying... I don't really use that many smilies normally, but I was feeling quite happy at the time and I was spewing them in other places as well... I have to try and stay here this time. But then something about here somehow discourages me from posting a lot. I don't know what it is though. Often the question or mistake I wanted to answer/correct has already been answered or corrected. But that's how I was around for more than a year without ever surpassing 300 posts. If there was a shrugging emoticon I'd put it in here. ;) -------------------- ørangutan Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

quote:I was thinking about having kilts in Avernum context the other day. Although the other day I didn't even know about A4... it was more a BoA scenario idea... and similarly with having to wear pants for social occasions. My thoughts on kilts were basically no protection, or negative since they expose your legs, but you have to wear them for big parties or something like that. I haven't been around here for a long while, but I've been playing A3 over the past week or two, so I thought I might try and reestablish myself (doubtless I'll end up failing... )... So what's been happening? :D Anyone remember me? At all? I was thinking of discarding the name ørangutan, since I haven't used it since I stopped coming here... maybe... I'll try and register BoA next, I think... it's been sitting around on my harddrive doing nothing since I completed VoDT. :P I want to play people's scenarios... I also notice there's a Geneforge 3 out- wow! :D And plans for an Avernum 4? cool :D I never really got into Geneforge 1 or 2 though so I'm not really sure about 3.... Anyway, I may or may not be around from time to time. I don't use the internet as much as I know a lot of you do. (It's partly why I was around for about a year, in times of yore, without ever reaching 500 posts or something like that. :P ) -------------------- ørangutan Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

I remember some immensely funny one about changing a lightbulb (how many SW-ers would it take?) which had me laughing out loud, and I just wondered if anyone knew which page it was on? The files work fine for me. -------------------- ~ørangutan Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

Yo, just wanted to say hi, though I doubt if any of you remember me, and to ask such questions as "what's going on?", "what's happening?", "what's new in SW-land?", etc. I've already seen the big PPP project, by the way. I don't care if no-one replies, and I'm sure someone remembers me, and I probably won't read it before I slip back into my perpetually indefinite state of disappearance from Spidweb. -------------------- ~ørangutan Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

I don't know if it's too late to change anything, and I can't remember if this was mentioned before, but a big disappointment for me is the continued existence of those menus to select monsters with: it's a real pain to select it from a menu when you could have a big visual picker like the terrain one, and menus are a general pain. It would be nice to have the selector in a floating window or something as well. Also, the outdoor section selector annoys me, having that numerical input when it would make more sense to select it from a grid. Of course, I'm probably too late :( Posts: 316 | Registered: Saturday, May 25 2002 07:00 |

OI! I posted this FOUR DAYS AGO and I haven't got a reply!!!! Since when were you all so uncooperative? Isn't this the place I go to get HELP for this kind of thing. I'm also in a VERY BAD MOOD, so if you don't help me I may have to personally MURDER you. Ok, it's working now, but I'm still annoyed that no-one replied!
